What it is

GemPages is a page builder for Shopify stores that bills itself as the "#1 Conversion-focused Page Builder for Shopify Stores." The company says it "helps you turn more visitors into paying customers by making it easy for you to create, optimize and test Shopify funnels. No coding." It is aimed at Shopify store owners and the marketers around them who want landing pages, product pages and sales funnels without waiting on a developer, and its headline promises that anyone can build high-converting pages. The home page claims 70,000+ users, and its copyright line runs from 2017 to 2026.

What you build and how

The page types come straight from the solutions menu, and they cover most of a store's front end:

• Branded home pages, pitched as a way to build a unique brand identity with CRO-focused templates.
• Custom collection pages, described as a well-structured product showcase.
• Custom product pages, for a page that features your star product.
• Sub pages of any type, with FAQs, About us and Contact us as examples.
• Blog posts, where the site says you can "Create unlimited SEO blogs that convert traffic into customers."
• Landing pages for ads, and sales pages and sales funnels.
• Pre-sale pages in advertorial and listicle formats.
• Post-purchase upsell pages, to "Achieve higher AOV and ROI for your Shopify store."

The editor. You start from a template or a blank page. The company advertises "400+ Strategic Templates & Sections": you pick one and customize it to fit your style without writing code. The features menu lists a CRO-focused page builder with a "Seller-centric user interface," an Interactions Builder for richer user experience with no coding, element presets with "done-half-for-you settings," Instant Landing Page for fast campaign pages, and a Theme Section Builder that adds new sections to an existing theme. The company describes the editor as "an intuitive interface that boasts endless possibilities for creating any type of page," and frames store building around three goals: appealing design, conversion-optimized page arrangement, and customization to match a niche. Mobile design gets its own tools, with responsive settings and mobile-first presets so layouts can be previewed and changed per device.

AI. The home page calls GemPages "The AI-powered Page Builder on Shopify." GemAI Image 2 Layout turns reference images and URLs into editable layouts, an AI Content Generator writes copy, and an AI Section & Page Generator is marked "Coming soon."

Conversion tools. The site names CRO elements such as a stock counter, countdown timer, estimated delivery and popup upsell, and says the company studies top CRO practices to supply "conversion-boosting toolkits." The sales funnel feature combines pre-sale advertorials and listicles, sales and landing pages, post-purchase upsell pages, dynamic triggers and dynamic offers, A/B offer testing and conversion analytics, and the home page claims "Up to 30% Upsell CR." A separate testing product is introduced as "A/B Testing Platform with GEMX."

Speed. The company lists lazy loading, code optimization, an image auto resizer and headless page support. It says "GemPages is the only page builder with Headless Technology, fully compatible with Shopify Hydrogen and Oxygen, helping you double your loading speed." That is the company's claim, and it matters most to a store already built on Hydrogen or Oxygen.

A side-by-side table sets GemPages against custom coding: pages are edited by sellers rather than only by developers, launch time is fast rather than slow, experts are easy to find, and CRO is "made easy."

The evidence from the pages

Integrations and services. The home page counts "100+ Shopify App Integrations" with a link to the full list, and says CRO experts and GemPages partners can help you transform your business. The resources menu adds Hire an Expert, Page Migrations ("Effortlessly migrate your pages with our expert support") and an affiliate program. Learning runs through GemAcademy, which teaches storefront design and CRO, YouTube tutorials, an ecommerce blog, a Help Center, a Facebook community and a change log.

Getting started. Each "Start for free" button links to GemPages' listing at apps.shopify.com/gempages. The menu has a Pricing page, and the home page itself shows no GemPages plan prices. A separate promotion is for Shopify, not GemPages: a 3-day free trial of Shopify, then $1 a month for 3 months, with no credit card required.

Customers. A case study headline says An Act of Dog, founded by Marina and Mark Barone, saw a "212% increase in sales within 3 months." Quotes on the home page carry store names. Hituttikids writes that earlier Shopify apps and WordPress plugins "are very hard to set up and not easy to use," and that "Overall, GemPages is extremely easy to use, the customer support is top-notch." Coockiechips says "We're seeing a 12% increase in conversion rate with our landing pages." Hystar says "I like the preset templates of GemPages as well. I can just click one and then edit it the way I like," and that the price is good for what you get. An Act of Dog says GemPages let it lay out pages "more like a magazine" with more buttons for conversions, and that "it's so easy to use, you don't have to be tech-savvy or know code." Bluecooler says GemPages let it build customized pages "that had a professional look and would tell the story of our brand and products." Imalent says that before GemPages it ran into "limited customization options, and difficulty in creating engaging pages." These are testimonials chosen by the company, and each figure belongs to that one store.

Who it suits

GemPages suits a Shopify merchant who wants a library of conversion-minded layouts, AI help to get a first draft, a way to test offers, and no developer in the loop. A small store launching an ad landing page, a brand rebuilding its home and collection pages around a clearer story, and an operator who wants advertorial or listicle pre-sale pages ahead of a product page and an upsell page after checkout all fit what the site describes. The expert help, page migration service and 100+ app integrations also suit a store moving from another builder.

There are limits to name. GemPages is built for Shopify, so it does nothing for a site on another platform. The speed and conversion claims come from the company and from single customers, and the home page itself gives no plan prices.
