What is Unbounce

Unbounce is a landing page platform for marketers and marketing agencies. Its pricing page calls it an "Award-winning landing page builder for marketers and agencies," and its home page describes the job as building, testing and optimizing landing pages in one platform, without asking a designer or developer for help. You build pages for desktop and mobile "without writing a single line of code." The company positions landing pages as one of its go-to-market solutions, next to Insightly CRM, which it acquired in July 2024.

What you build and how

The page builder. The features page describes a drag-and-drop editor: "Add, remove, or customize any part of your landing pages with just a few clicks." It says anyone can use it with no design or development skills. You start from a gallery of 100+ templates or design from scratch. Copy and paste carries your customized look for text or forms across a page, and page duplication lets you copy a winning page for a new campaign. Template creation lets you download any of your pages as a template to share with other Unbounce users.

Popups and sticky bars. The home page says the same builder makes landing pages, popups and sticky bars, with customizable templates, drag-and-drop elements and custom scripts. The free 14-day trial covers all 3 formats.

Forms. Lead gen forms are on every plan from Starter, and multi-step forms arrive on Build. Copy and paste carries a customized form style from one part of a page to another, and form submissions count as conversions, which every plan leaves unlimited.

Testing and AI. The home page lists no-code A/B testing, real-time analytics and AI optimization among the product's headline tools. The support page describes Smart Traffic as automatically sending visitors to their best-match landing page with AI optimization, and the home page says the AI insights are "powered by billions of conversions." AI copywriting is part of the Build plan, and the sign-in options include a separate Smart Copy product. Testing is split by plan: the Experiment plan brings "Unlimited A/B testing," unlimited variants, manual traffic allocation, confidence intervals and dynamic text replacement, which the home page explains as "aligning your landing page with the keywords your customers are searching for." Smart Traffic, listed as "AI traffic optimization," starts on Optimize, along with industry benchmarking and audience insights.

MCP server. The features page says you can "use prompts to build, test, optimize, and manage landing pages from the AI assistants you already use." The pricing page adds that Unbounce's MCP connects to AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT and is available on all plans, including during the free trial. For a team already working in an AI assistant, that is a second way to drive the same pages.

Extending with code and integrations. Custom scripts let you add custom JavaScript, CSS and HTML to any page, so a developer can go beyond what the builder offers. The Build plan lists "Custom scripts and pixels," custom code and styling, and "1000+ integrations."

Managing many pages and clients. Version control lets you revert to an earlier version of a page. The features page also mentions a complete record of user activity in the builder, and reports can be exported. Archive and transfer lets you archive idle campaigns without deleting anything and transfer an account to a client who is ready to take over. Cross-account duplication copies landing pages between accounts. These are the controls an agency needs, and the company lists agencies among its main audiences.

Hosting and domains. The pricing page says the Build, Experiment and Optimize plans all include free hosting through Unbounce, and the Starter plan's list also shows free hosting. You can also publish pages directly to your own domain or WordPress website, in which case you are responsible for hosting. All plans include unlimited subdomains and unlimited conversions.

  • Benchmarks. The company's conversion benchmark report draws on over 57 million landing page conversions across industries, and the home page speaks of insights "from more than two billion conversions."
  • Partner program. Referrers earn 25-35% of recurring revenue on their referrals for up to 12 months, paid through PayPal or Stripe, run on PartnerStack. Referral cookies last 90 days.
  • Legal and security. The footer links to a product security page, a security page, and CCPA and GDPR pages.

Users quoted on the pricing page include Erik Kielisch, a marketing and SEO manager, who says "Unbounce has drastically increased my productivity, letting me create campaigns within 2-3 hours," and Hristian Kambourov, head of CRO at Revise Agency, who says "You can run multiple split tests to determine which landing pages perform best."

Who it suits and who it does not

Unbounce suits a marketer or small agency that runs paid campaigns and wants to launch a page quickly, test it, and keep the winners. The 100+ templates and drag-and-drop editor remove the need for a designer. Agencies get account transfer, cross-account duplication and the option to publish pages to their own domain. Teams that live in Claude or ChatGPT get an MCP route to the same pages.

The entry price is real money for someone who needs one page: the Starter plan is $29 a month on monthly billing, caps traffic at 500, 5 pages and 1 user, and carries 1 root domain, and popups and A/B testing sit on higher plans. Testing is the product's strength, but a team that plans to split test needs Experiment at $112 a month billed yearly. A team that wants CRM tied tightly to its pages will find the CRM sold as a separate product, Insightly.
