What Apptile is
Apptile is a mobile app platform for e-commerce brands, described on its homepage as "The AI-Native Platform For Enterprise Mobile Commerce". It is a builder for Shopify stores that want a custom iOS and Android app, with a visual no-code editor first and code available when you need it. The company says teams at 400+ leading global brands use it and sells it at "no-code speed, with pro-code flexibility". The pages give the legal name as Apptile Inc. and do not state a location.
What you build and how
You build a branded shopping app by composing "tiles". The homepage says you drag and drop from a "growing library of immersive content tiles", puts the library at 100+ tiles, and offers a deep customization panel where you can edit every tile, section and interaction. Themes give you a starting look, and a separate "Generate Any Tile" feature lets you use a simple prompt to create one.
AI runs through the builder. AI Tiles take a description of a design requirement and generate a ready-to-use tile from your prompt. Smart Copy Suggestions offer text recommendations while you write notifications, popups or banners. AI Powered Branding applies your logo, colors and style to the app. AI Popclips adds short highlights from a live stream directly into the app. The homepage also lists a Tile AI feature for AI-assisted creative app design.
For extension, the homepage lists a Tile SDK to extend functionality with custom code, and the help center links a Tile SDK guide. The platform's section on developers and the "pro-code flexibility" line mean a developer can add custom behavior, while the rest of the app stays in the visual editor. The pages do not say which languages the SDK uses.
Live selling is the unusual feature. The homepage describes streaming live and selling inside the app, with multi-streaming to the mobile app, the website, Facebook and Instagram at once. Customers can use instant buying with checkout inside the stream, preorders, and cart assist through the live chat. Live stream analytics track performance and audience behavior.
Operations features cover the life of the app after launch. The platform menu names Live App Preview to preview the app instantly, App Versions to manage releases, and OTA Updates to update apps without resubmission to the stores. Advanced Analytics gives insights into users. For growth, it lists push notifications with AI-driven sending, an app install banner and app-only discounts. The help center lists guides for getting started, building your app, live selling, integration and analytics, app launch, account and billing, and app marketing.
For integrations, the homepage promises easy connection with tools like Klaviyo and Recharge. The help center describes enabling your favorite Shopify apps through one-click integrations, though the pages do not give a list or a total count.
The homepage organizes the product around 3 stages, Launch, Manage and Grow. Under Launch it says "Go live in days, not months" and, elsewhere, "Launch custom apps in weeks, not months", which are 2 different timelines from the same page, so ask which applies to a project with your level of customization. Under Manage sit the app versions, OTA updates and analytics. Under Grow sit push notifications, the install banner and app-only discounts. The homepage also promises that its themes let you design an app that fits your brand, with no templates that look alike.
Customer stories name Sweet Freedom in the United Kingdom and Snackshack in the United States, and a Pet Republic story about switching to Apptile. The quotes praise a responsive team, help with getting live on the relevant store platforms, and a project that was easy to set up.
The audience is wide. The menu groups solutions by industry (video, commerce, creators) and by team (enterprise, agencies, startups, freelancers). The company also publishes comparisons against Vajro, Tapcart, Shopney and CommentSold.
What the pages state about plans and results
The pricing section is "Pay as you grow", with 4 plans.
- Core is $0, described as "Use Apptile for free", with a 5% app sales commission, iOS and Android app design with 100+ standard tiles, unlimited push notifications (one-time and automated) and 3 standard integrations.
- Pro is $200 per month with 0% commission. It adds advanced tile customizations, premium themes, scheduled push notifications and unlimited standard integrations.
- Plus is $500 per month with 0% commission. It adds custom fonts and icons, a custom product page and cart page builder, segmented push notifications and 3 premium integrations.
- Enterprise starts at $1000 per month with 0% commission and is aimed at Shopify Plus and high-volume brands. It adds custom themes and tiles, multiple product page templates, unlimited premium and custom API integrations, and a dedicated account manager and designer.
On trying it, the homepage says "Try Apptile for as long as you like. Only pay when you are ready to publish your app." That is the closest thing to a free-trial term. The commission matters for the math: the free plan costs nothing monthly but takes 5% of app sales, while Pro at $200 removes the commission, so a brand with steady app revenue can work out where the 2 plans cross.
The homepage states results beside the pitch: 152% repeat purchase, 3x conversion rate and -48% cart abandonment, and notes that mobile shopping apps have the lowest cart abandonment rate, at 20%. They are the company's marketing figures without a stated source on the page. The pages name no compliance certification and no hosting region.
Who it suits and who it does not
Apptile suits a Shopify brand that wants a design-forward app and expects to grow into it, since the plan ladder runs from a free start to a dedicated designer. It fits a brand that does live commerce, because multi-streaming, instant buying and live analytics are built in. A team with one developer can use the Tile SDK for custom pieces without leaving the platform, and agencies and freelancers are named audiences.
It has trade-offs. The free Core plan takes a 5% commission on app sales, and several useful pieces are gated to higher plans: scheduled push starts at Pro, segmented push and the custom product page builder at Plus, and custom themes at Enterprise. The pages describe Shopify as the connected store, so a merchant on another platform has no described route in. And the pages do not state a code export or self-hosting option, so the app lives on the platform's tooling.
