What Spur is

Spur is a no-code platform for marketing and customer support conversations, built around AI agents that answer on WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook Messenger and a website chat widget. The home page calls it "a multi-channel AI Agent for marketing and customer support" under the line "Sell More. Support Better. Automate Everything." Its own blog names D2C brands, e-commerce businesses and anyone with significant traffic on social channels as the users it is built for, and the solutions menu adds travel and hospitality, offline retail, real estate, education, finance and insurance, and events and webinars. The same blog describes Spur as launched in 2022. Two legal entities appear in the footer, Spur Technologies, Inc. in the US and Spurtastic Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in India, with a New Delhi address.

What you build and how

Connecting channels. Setup starts by linking your website, Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp accounts. The product list in the footer breaks the offer into WhatsApp Business API, Instagram Automation, Facebook Messenger, Website Live Chat, AI Agents, Shared Inbox, WhatsApp Marketing, Broadcasts and a Workflow Builder. The company says it is a Meta Business Partner and an official Meta Tech Provider, and it shows a Shopify Partner badge and a GDPR Compliant badge.

AI agents. The agent is the core of the chatbot side. The home page contrasts life "without AI agents" (chained to your inbox, repetitive queries, leads slipping away off-hours) with life with them: FAQs handled automatically around the clock, real-time replies and escalation to a human for complex issues. The company's blog adds that modern tools offer "actionable AI that completes tasks, not just conversational AI that chats", citing tracking orders, booking appointments and updating CRM records as examples of the work an agent should do. A chat widget extends the same idea to your website: the page describes an AI chat widget that answers FAQs 24/7.

Lead qualification. The home page lists lead qualification as a capability: "Automatically gather customer details and qualify inquiries to fill your pipeline faster."

Campaigns and workflows. Campaigns send bulk messages to thousands of customers, and the page claims delivery rates of 80%+. It also sends automated messages triggered by events such as an abandoned cart or a form submission. A reviewer on the home page praises "pre-made ready to deploy automations". The company's blog describes the visual flow builder as a way to create chatbot workflows without touching code: you mix AI steps with rule-based logic, set up smart routing based on confidence levels and build guided conversations that adapt to user input. The same post lists drip campaigns, Instagram click-to-DM ad flows and a deliverability booster on the outbound side, and the menu adds WhatsApp Flows, WhatsApp Commerce, Click-to-Instagram Ads and blue tick verification.

Instagram. A Comment To DM feature automates replies to comments: it can send a DM with a link, qualify a lead, or ask the commenter to follow if they are not following already.

Inbox, ticketing and CRM. The CRM and support module manages every channel in one inbox with built-in ticketing, custom fields and multi-agent collaboration. Custom fields let you store any detail and personalize each touchpoint. The company also offers a customer success team that you can message at any time.

Shopify and other integrations. The blog says Spur "connects to Shopify if you sell there" and promises a connection "in minutes." It describes Shopify and WooCommerce integrations that send WhatsApp order confirmations, shipping updates and cart abandonment messages automatically, with the chatbot pulling order status on the fly so customers do not wait for an agent. The integrations menu also names Razorpay, Stripe, Shiprocket, Zoho CRM, LeadSquared and FlexyPe. For developers there are API Docs, an MCP Server marked new and an Uptime Status page.

Partners. A Partner Program and Partner Directory appear in the footer.

What the pages state

Pricing. The company's own blog gives two plan figures: the AI Start plan "runs about $31/month annually" and includes 2 agent seats, WhatsApp and Instagram channels, Shopify integration and 25 automation flows, while the entry AI Acquire plan at "around $12/month" supports Instagram automation and a live chat widget with one AI bot. The blog says all plans include unlimited contacts and calls the pricing flat. WhatsApp message charges come on top: the blog's sidebar says "Billed per conversation delivered," and the menu links a WhatsApp Pricing Calculator.

Trial. A 7-day free trial is advertised next to the Start for free and Book a demo buttons.

Billing terms. The home page FAQ is unusually explicit. Subscription charges and WhatsApp conversation charges are non-refundable. For customers in India, choosing a paid plan enables an e-mandate on the card, with auto-debit of subscription charges and the WhatsApp conversation charges incurred through the last day of the billing period. For customers outside India, recurring charges apply as per the plan until you cancel. On cancellation, any remaining wallet balance and AI credits are forfeited, and you must cancel in Settings before the next billing date.

Scale and feedback. The footer says the product is trusted by 600+ brands. Reviews on the home page come from founders in Latvia and India, carry dates from June to November 2024, and praise the responsive support team and the automation section. One review is negative: "Too complicated to set up. Can't receive OTP, no luck." The company's published reply invites anyone facing setup challenges to get in touch.

Compliance. The home page carries a GDPR Compliant badge and states Meta Tech Provider status, and the blog says the outbound tools come with compliance features built in.

Support. The pages list a Help Center, a customer success team, a support email address and a phone line.

Who it suits and who it does not

Spur suits a D2C brand or online store whose customers already message on WhatsApp and Instagram, and that wants one inbox with AI answering the repetitive questions and campaigns for abandoned carts. The company's own blog says it excels at social messaging with a dedicated WhatsApp Business API and Instagram automation, and the flat-contact pricing it describes helps when your list grows faster than your headcount. The AI Acquire entry plan puts Instagram automation and a live chat widget within reach of a very small shop.

It is a weaker match for a team whose conversations mostly happen on web chat and email: the blog says Spur excels at social messaging and advises such teams to "lean towards tools strong in those areas." The blog is also candid that, as a newer product, it may lack depth in advanced analytics or an extensive plugin marketplace. The non-refundable billing terms and the forfeited AI credits on cancellation are worth reading before you commit, and the one negative review quoted above is about setup.
