What it is

Wepage is a Japanese-language website builder for people making their first site. The company calls it a free homepage creation tool that anyone can use, and it works as a CMS you edit in place, with word-processor-style editing, according to its FAQ. It is run by i-mobile Inc. (アイ・モバイル株式会社), whose head office is in Shibuya, Tokyo. The audience is individuals, shops, classrooms, clubs and small companies that want a presentable site without a developer, and the pages put the smartphone at the center of the workflow.

What you build and how

The start is deliberately short. The home page lays out three steps. You enter an email address and receive a login URL and a password, you log in and pick a design while filling in the required details, and you edit and publish. The FAQ says a site can go live in as little as 3 minutes, because each design arrives with text and images suited to its purpose or industry that you only need to adjust.

The design catalog is the main draw. The company says it holds about 20,000 design templates, and its news section shows how they are organized by occasion: New Year greeting sites, Valentine's pages, graduation memorial sites, class reunions, flower arrangement classes, neighborhood associations, Halloween and Christmas parties, influencer profiles, photo albums, English conversation, music, dance, calligraphy and martial arts classes, and summer greeting cards. Templates for albums are offered in versions made for creation on a phone. The use cases on the home page are a business card for a company, shop or classroom, an announcement for a reunion or party that you share like a flyer, and an outlet for a circle or hobby.

The editor is a what-you-see-is-what-you-get one. You click the part of the live page you want to change, rewrite text, swap an image or drag content to a new position, with no programming. A built-in image tool adjusts size and brightness and adds frames, stamps and text, so you do not need separate software. A library of more than 2,000 free images and more than 50 free video clips is included, and you can add your own pictures to the library.

The company does not tie a site to one fixed template. Its "dynamic design" concept lets you change layout, color, the look of menus and buttons and heading styles in an instant. Text color for headings and body can be changed in bulk, and the shared header and footer can be set per page. Sites are responsive, so one build adapts to phones, tablets and desktops, with buttons that change to suit tapping and a Google Maps embed available.

Phone-based authoring is a named feature. You can create and update a site from a smartphone alone, post photos straight from the camera, check and answer inquiries on the phone, and have several staff members add columns and updates. Other features listed are an access analytics tool that can email an outcome report covering visits, page views and inquiries (up to 20 recipients per site), a background video option, social features such as Facebook and Twitter timeline widgets, a contact form, SEO settings and limited-publication pages. The company cites its own research that sites with an original video as the main visual received about 4 times as many inquiries.

Limited-publication pages are password-protected pages edited like normal pages. The company suggests them for a kindergarten album that only parents see, an employees-only page or downloadable materials, and says they let you post photos and video at an event site with more peace of mind.

Plans, limits and company facts

Pricing is published and simple. The home page says Wepage is free for good and lists four tiers. Free costs 0 yen a month, allows 10 pages, shows ads, has no custom domain and no analytics, and comes with email support. Personal is 1,100 yen a month with 20 pages and ads removed. Plus is 2,200 yen a month with 50 pages, ads removed, a custom domain and analytics. Premium is 4,400 yen a month with 100 pages and the same features plus telephone support by prior reservation. The custom domain is listed as for a newly acquired domain only. A separate production and operation support plan is available on inquiry, where professionals build and run the site.

All plans include always-on SSL, smartphone support, a contact form, SEO settings and password-protected pages. Email support comes with every plan, including the free one.

On users, the home page says more than 30,000 customers have used it cumulatively. Three customer comments sit beside that. A learning-support business chose it for the abundance and ease of use of its free designs, a chiropractic clinic moved its site to Wepage to cut monthly costs, and a kimono dressing service said even a beginner could build a site easily.

The company page gives the operator's facts. i-mobile was founded in 2000, incorporated in 2007, and listed 100 employees and capital of 100 million yen as of April 2020, with shareholders including TKC. Besides Tokyo it lists offices in Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka. A notice on the home page records that the login screen and form URLs changed in August 2026.

Who it suits

Wepage suits a Japanese-speaking owner of a salon, clinic, classroom or club who wants an inexpensive site and will edit it from a phone. A free tier with 10 pages and a ceiling of 4,400 yen a month for 100 pages is an easy budget to read. Event hosts can use the occasion templates and password pages for private galleries, and a team can share updating duties.

It is a poorer fit when you need depth. The pages describe a page-based site builder with contact forms, SEO settings and analytics, and the pages do not mention an online store, a database, workflow automation or an API. A shop that wants a checkout should confirm with the company first. The page limits (10 to 100) also cap larger sites.

Language is the other caveat. The site, the company page and the interface material are in Japanese, though a link leads to an English version of the My page by Wepage service. A team that does not read Japanese should test the English route first. Analytics are reserved for the Plus and Premium plans, and a custom domain is limited to newly acquired ones.
