What Scrollytelling.ai is

Scrollytelling.ai is a site builder for one specific format, the scroll-driven story, where content moves and changes as the reader scrolls. The FAQ describes it as "an AI-powered platform that lets you create these immersive digital stories in minutes" and calls it a zero-code platform "designed for creators, marketers, and founders." Its audience, in the site's own words, runs "from solo builders to scaling agencies," split into marketing and sales teams, creators and founders, and agencies and teams.

You describe what you want to an AI agent and get back a scrollable draft, which you then edit. That makes it a hybrid of a website builder and a landing page builder. The output is a published web page, and the home page says you can "Build a free microsite in minutes" when you need "a standalone page for a campaign or event." The headline claim is that its AI turns ideas into stories that "convert 17× better than static content," and the FAQ puts it as "up to 17x higher engagement compared to traditional documents." Both are the company's marketing figures.

What you build and how

The home page calls itself "One canvas for every interactive story you'll ever publish," and lists what that covers: one pagers, product showcases, landing pages, brand storytelling, pitch decks, educational resources, longform articles, annual reports, data storytelling with scroll-triggered visualizations, white papers, sponsored content, research reports and sales proposals. A landing page here is described as a conversion-focused design that leads visitors through an interactive flow, and a pitch deck as a scroll-driven deck that replaces static slides.

The process has 3 steps. First, "Describe your vision": you tell the AI agent what to build, such as a pitch deck, a product story or a longform article, and it "returns a complete, scrollable draft in seconds." Second, "Refine every detail": you direct the layout, regenerate visuals and rewrite copy with built-in AI, and the page promises that "Every chapter, animation, and pixel stays under your control." Third, "Publish and ship": you go live on your own custom domain with one click, and built-in analytics show how far your audience scrolls.

The FAQ adds a second way in. You can paste a link to an existing blog post, a PDF or an article, and the AI turns it into an interactive scrollytelling story, which the company calls the fastest way to give old content a second life. The editor is described as drag-and-drop and beginner-friendly, and the AI features are listed as story generation, image search and text assistance. Drafts are unlimited on every plan; the limit is on how many stories you publish.

The site's footer shows specialized entry points into the same editor: makers for press releases, case studies and annual reports, brand story and timeline templates, an interactive widgets area with a carousel widget and a chart widget, a motion background maker and a microsite builder. It also lists a WordPress plugin and a Shopify app. Paid plans add form submissions for capturing responses, an "AI Spotlight" feature that creates interactive AI sections, and a custom code embed on Pro and above.

Publishing is hosted. The company says the platform offers "direct hosting on a global CDN with custom domain support, built-in analytics, and optimized media delivery," and that stories use optimized media compression for fast loads and strong Core Web Vitals. It lists the hosting as AWS-hosted with SSL. The free plan publishes on a scrollytelling.ai subdomain. Paid plans add custom domains and remove the watermark. The Pro+ plan adds an offline download of a story as a .zip, so a finished story can be kept or shipped outside the platform.

What the pages say about plans and limits

Pricing is published and self-serve, with a monthly or yearly toggle where yearly saves "up to 22%."

  • Free is $0 a month, "free forever," with no card required. It includes 150 credits to start, 1 published story, unlimited uploads, all templates and widgets, built-in analytics and a scrollytelling.ai subdomain. Custom domains, watermark removal, form submissions, AI Spotlight and workspace invites are listed as not included.
  • Starter is $10 a month on yearly billing ($120 billed once a year) or $12 a month billed monthly. It adds 250 monthly credits, 1 custom domain and watermark removal, and keeps the limit at 1 published story.
  • Pro, marked most popular, is $24 a month on yearly billing ($290 billed once a year) or $29 a month billed monthly. It has 1,000 monthly credits, 10 published stories, form submissions, AI Spotlight, unlimited custom domains, unlimited users and workspaces, and a custom code embed.
  • Pro+ is $49 a month on yearly billing ($590 billed once a year) or $59 a month billed monthly. It has 3,000 monthly credits and unlimited published stories, and adds priority AI processing, priority support, advanced custom branding and the offline .zip download.

Credits are the unit behind the AI features. The FAQ says you can create, edit and publish stories on the company's domain completely free, and that paid upgrades are for people who "want to generate premium AI-powered media assets or if you need to host your stories on a custom domain."

The comparison page on the company's site describes some plan details more generously than the pricing section, for example "Workspaces with unlimited users on all plans." The pricing section puts workspace invites and unlimited users on Pro, so the pricing section is the one to read as the plan sheet.

Support is by email on all plans, according to the company, with priority support on Pro+. The FAQ invites questions by email, and the footer lists a help center, guides, a "What is scrollytelling?" explainer and a contact page. The site itself carries the line "Made with Scrollytelling."

Who it suits and who it does not

It suits a marketer, founder or small agency that needs a good-looking narrative page, a pitch, a report or a campaign microsite without a designer, and wants to pay a flat monthly price. A solo creator can publish one story on the free plan, which is enough to judge the output. An agency building for clients has a path up through 10 or unlimited published stories, unlimited custom domains and users on Pro and Pro+, with advanced branding on Pro+. Teams on WordPress or Shopify will find a plugin and an app for those platforms in the product menu.

It is less of a fit when you need a general website or app. The pages describe stories, one-pagers and microsites, not a multi-page site with a store, a blog engine or a database, so a store would still need its own platform. The credit system also caps how much AI generation you can run each month, so heavy users should run a month of real work on a paid plan before settling on a tier.
