What it is

Designmodo is a suite of no-code design tools for websites, landing pages and email, aimed at marketers, designers, developers and entrepreneurs who want polished, responsive pages without writing the code. The company's own summary of why to pick it is "No-code design tools: email designer, website builder, landing page builder". The suite is made of separate apps: Slides for building websites, Startup for Bootstrap landing pages, and Postcards for email templates. This entry is about the suite as a whole, with the website side first. The home page shows a rating of 4.6/5 from 114 reviews, and the footer copyright runs from 2010.

What you build and how

Websites are built in Slides, which the home page calls "A fast and intuitive no-code website builder with built-in hosting, SSL, and network traffic." The FAQ puts the process in one line: select from pre-designed Slides templates, customize the text and images, and publish a responsive website "in minutes", with no coding required. Motion is the selling point. The home page says "Use Slides to have an animated website" and "Select pre-built animations and transitions for your website to make it more interactive and visually engaging", and the apps menu describes Slides as a way to "Create animated static website presentations in a matter of minutes."

The Slides feature list covers the practical side of running a site: built-in modules and examples, hosting and SSL included, a drag and drop editor, responsive design, light and dark themes, HTML exports, a custom domain, and unlimited pages and visitors. So a small business can design, publish on its own domain and stay on Designmodo's hosting, or take the HTML elsewhere.

Templates are the starting point. The home page offers a Website Templates section described as a "huge library of flexible, conversion-focussed templates", and a separate Email Templates section for newsletters, with "Pre-designed Modules" you drag into place among the product points. The company also says the output is "SEO-friendly and optimized for performance".

Code is where Designmodo differs from closed site builders. The FAQ says the tools are made for users of all skill levels, "but you can also export clean HTML code if needed", and "Code export feature" is one of the company's listed reasons to choose it.

The landing-page side is Startup, described on the home page as a way to "Build responsive Bootstrap landing page templates with pre-designed blocks in a no-code editor." The company's own blog post on no-code website builders adds detail: a collection of hand-crafted blocks, modules and units, customization options for every detail, project management for multi-page websites, and an export that gives you code, images, text and styles in one click. Because Startup is built on Bootstrap, the post says, an in-house development team can take the code further and use it outside the platform. Hosting for Startup sites runs through Static.app, with an SSL certificate, media storage and a custom domain. The same post says a newcomer can create a first website free and that the standard plan is "less than $13 per month".

Postcards, the email builder, is the most fully described product. It is "a visual tool for designing responsive marketing emails from drag-and-drop blocks and ready-made templates", and the company says it includes more than 100 components. You can start from a blank canvas or a template, drag in modules, style to your brand and export HTML to your email platform. Email Client Preview shows how a design renders in Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail and Yahoo. The home page lists real-time collaboration and comments, brand presets, version history, saved and reusable modules, Outlook exports, HTML email import with AI, a Postcards API and MCP, and a Gmail Promotions tab feature. The template gallery includes categories such as Invitations, Fundraising Campaigns, Seasonal & Discounts, Sale and Alumni & Student Newsletters, and a countdown timer.

AI sits in Postcards. The AI Suite builds a complete email template from a plain-language prompt, which you then refine in the editor. It can also restyle or translate an existing template, rewrite copy to fit the space and run a design audit. The company adds that Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT can open your projects and export the HTML over MCP. Postcards also reaches into the inbox tools through a Chrome extension for Gmail, an Outlook add-in and a Google Workspace app. The home page claims 20+ integrations, naming MailChimp, HubSpot, Brevo, Klaviyo, Constant Contact, Zoho and SendGrid.

The evidence

The FAQ gives entry prices per product. "Postcards’ paid plans start at $16/month", with a free version "with limited features for basic needs". Slides "has a free forever plan with limited features for basic needs", and its paid plans "start at $8/month". The home page also shows two Plus and Pro price tables with a monthly or annual toggle: one at $19 and $29 a month ($190 and $290 a year), the other at $9 and $19 a month ($90 and $190 a year). Postcards says "No signup required" to open its editor, and the AI Suite is "included on every paid plan".

On support, the home page says "We offer live chat, a help center, tutorials, and helpful articles to help you get started" and adds that paid users get priority customer support. The footer links a DPA alongside the privacy and terms pages.

Customer quotes on the home page cover all three apps. A web developer, Nick Babich, writes that "The Slides framework is an easy-to-use tool for creating websites. It allows anyone to create a sleek landing page in a few minutes." Jacob Jacquet, Chief Operating Officer, says "Using Startup was one of the key decisions that contributed to Rezi’s early success." Murat Mutlu, Co-Founder/CEO of MARVEL, says Postcards gave his marketing team more control over email layouts.

Who it suits

Designmodo suits a designer, freelancer or small marketing team that wants to build visually and keep the HTML. Marketers who need email templates and a matching landing page in one place can use Postcards with Slides or Startup, and the free plans let you try them before paying. Starting prices of $8 and $16 a month are modest for a small team, Slides includes hosting and a custom domain, and the code export gives an agency something it can hand to a developer.

It is a weaker fit for someone who wants a site with a store, bookings or members built in: the website tools are about design, animation, hosting and export rather than business logic, data or checkout. And because the AI Suite is described for email, a site-focused buyer should not count it as part of the website tool.
