What It Is

Wayground, formerly Quizizz, is a quiz and classroom-activity platform for teachers, schools and districts. The company's home page describes it as a place where teachers build activities, deliver them to students and analyze the results in one place. It is not a general no-code builder. What you build here is a quiz, a poll, a lesson or a set of classroom materials, and what you run is a class or a district-wide assessment.

The site splits its audience in two. A teacher gets classroom tools, a teacher app, a Chrome extension and a set of AI generators. An administrator gets a plan for schools and districts with roster sync, shared libraries and reporting. The about page links press coverage under the Quizizz name, including a piece on transforming classroom learning from India.

What You Build and How

The core is the quiz maker. The company's quiz-maker page lists the activity types you can assemble: questions where students select answers from a list, matching with shuffled text and images, a drawing response with colors and highlighters, drag and drop to complete a sentence, video responses so students can show presentation skills, and polls or votes to check the pulse of a class. A Lessons format gives you an instructor-led experience built from slides and multimedia. This is the "forms" side of the product: structured prompts that collect and score responses from a group.

Once you create and host a quiz, the company says the rest is handled for you. Responses are automatically graded and synced with your reports, and you can manually grade responses that call for higher-order thinking. A Reports section shows individual student performance and class performance, and lets you track progress across multiple attempts.

AI is a large part of the pitch. The home page describes bite-sized AI for everyday jobs: translate a homework page, add a real-world scenario, change a reading level. It says existing worksheets, slides and handouts work as-is in Wayground, or AI can sharpen them. The navigation lists generators for presentations, questions, rubrics, lesson plans, math problems, unit plans, weekly lesson plans and worksheets. The unit plan generator asks you to select the grade, a unit duration from 5 to 30 days, the topic and any details about learning style or the objectives and standards you want to address. The company says it then calculates the number of lessons needed, and teachers can customize that number.

The Wayground AI page goes further on differentiation. Translations happen without separate worksheets, distractions can be removed for students who need simplicity, and the right level of challenge is set for each student. On the analysis side, it says you can see why students missed questions, not just that they did, get remediation suggestions, and generate parent updates that sound like you. Its 4-step flow starts from the materials you already have and includes delivering and sharing resources through any LMS.

For schools, the integrations page covers rosters and accommodations. With Clever and ClassLink, when a Student Information System adds or removes someone in the roster, Wayground reflects it automatically, with nobody creating or revoking access by hand. Special education teams can set up accommodations centrally, and performance and compliance reports for their caseloads come from that same synced data. Districts can run Common Assessments across every school and get performance data matched to the right students. The plans page adds that "easy LMS integrations beyond Google Classroom" are part of the school and district offer.

For academic integrity, the home page names lockdown modes, anti-cheating alerts and academic integrity reports. It also says the platform has AI data analysis that shows what is working across every classroom and school in a district.

The Evidence

Plans and pricing. The plans page is titled "Choose Your Plan" and mentions a Wayground Super upgrade. It says that teachers at a school or district who paid out of pocket for Wayground Super will be fully reimbursed if they upgraded during the current academic year. For organizations the page lists a shared library for collaboration and assessments across the organization and easy LMS integrations beyond Google Classroom, then says to contact the company to learn more about a Wayground plan. The home page offers a quote for schools and districts, and the Wayground AI page invites teachers to "Get started free". The pages show no prices.

Privacy. The Wayground AI page says teacher-only access and "Zero student data in AI training". It describes the privacy position as "Privacy first, always".

Approach. The about page says the company does not dictate how to teach and wants to amplify what teachers already know works, and that its platform respects teacher judgment and reduces unnecessary burdens. The Wayground AI page makes the same point in its own terms: "You make decisions. Your classroom, your rules." It says it targets making lessons work for every student without creating 30 versions of the same material.

Research claim. The home page states ESSA Level 3 correlation evidence in math and ELA, earned by teachers running frequent formative assessments. That is the company's claim about its own results.

Scale. The Wayground AI page invites readers to "Join millions of educators". The pages give no exact user count.

Support. The plans page points to a Help Center for more questions.

Who It Suits

Wayground suits a classroom teacher who wants quizzes, polls and lessons without building anything from scratch, and who would use AI to level a reading, translate a page or draft a unit plan. The activity types cover quick checks for understanding as well as longer assessments, and the reports let a teacher follow one student across attempts.

It also suits a district that wants common assessments, centrally managed accommodations and rosters that follow the Student Information System through Clever or ClassLink. The reimbursement offer on Wayground Super is a small but concrete sign that the company expects individual teachers to adopt it first and the school to follow.

Caveats are real. It is built for education, so a business looking for lead-capture quizzes, customer surveys or an embeddable form will find the vocabulary and tooling aimed at classrooms. The school and district plan is quoted on request, with no prices on the pages, so a budget conversation starts with a sales contact. Nothing on the pages describes code export or self-hosting, so the content you create lives in Wayground.
