What ProProfs Quiz Maker is
ProProfs Quiz Maker is the quiz product from ProProfs, a suite of software for training and customer support. It is an online quiz builder with AI help, used for training tests, classroom exams, certification and lead-capture quizzes. The reader it fits is a training or HR team, a teacher or a marketer who wants a quiz with reports behind it. The company's site calls the product "World's simplest way to create quizzes or take a quiz." ProProfs says it is "Trusted by 15M People & Businesses of All Sizes" and that it has "15 million+ users each month." The founder and CEO is named as Sameer Bhatia, and the site says the company is privately held. The pages do not state where it is based.
What you build and how
You build quizzes, tests and assessments, and the AI does much of the first draft. The quiz page has a "Generate Quiz" action under the heading "Let ProProfs AI Build a Quiz." Once a draft exists, you can prompt the AI to "rewrite a question, improve answer options, adjust difficulty, or restructure any part of your quiz," so every detail "can be refined without starting over." For bulk work, the FAQ says you can upload Excel or Word files to import questions.
The AI covers more than writing. The page lists several tools aimed at the learner side of a test:
- An AI Feedback Coach that suggests "tailored feedback for each question so learners understand not just what is correct, but why."
- An AI Essay Grader that reads each essay response, evaluates it "against your rubric," assigns a score and leaves comments.
- AI-generated answer detection, which flags answers "that show signs of being AI-written" so you can keep a test honest.
- AI Reports & Insights, which tracks quiz completion rates, time spent on questions and learner activity, and lets you ask a question and get an answer "backed by your real data."
- An AI Report Summary that reads a report and surfaces what matters.
Publishing and access are well covered. The FAQ says you can embed quizzes with "an embed code or iframe" so learners never leave your site, and that this "works with most website builders, including WordPress, LMS platforms, and custom HTML sites." Access controls include requiring test-takers to log in, use a password or open a private link, plus support for single sign-on (SSO). You can also restrict a quiz to specific IP ranges, limit it to certain dates or times, and manage entry through classroom or user-based permissions. That is the part of the product aimed at formal exams and compliance training.
Certificates are built in. The FAQ says you can "automatically issue certificates when learners pass a quiz." They can be customized with a design you upload or built-in templates, your logo, signature and branding, and expiry dates. The product also supports "automated reminders for certificate renewals and scheduled retakes," which suits recurring certification cycles. Reports cover scores, completion status, time spent per quiz and per question, pass or fail trends and question-level difficulty. You can compare teams or cohorts, filter by date or group, and export to "Excel, CSV, or PDF." The page also says you can train and assess teams in "70+ interface languages."
For the forms reader, the relevant angle is lead capture. ProProfs's own comparison article on its blog describes Quiz Maker as stronger on lead generation than people expect: "Custom lead forms, result-gating, and marketing automation integrations feed data into your CRM directly," with themes and media support for customer-facing campaigns. The same article says granular visibility "at the learner, question, and group level" works for training, candidate evaluation or lead generation, and it cites a multi-brand retail operation, Synergy Holdings, running employee training on the product. The article is a ProProfs blog post, so it is the company describing its own product. For plain surveys and forms, the homepage lists a separate product, Survey Maker, described as "Surveys, forms, NPS, CX & more."
The quiz tool sits inside a wider suite, and the homepage says so. Other products listed include Training Maker (an AI LMS), Knowledge Base, PeopleGoal for performance and goals, Project, CourseNinja, Help Desk, Live Chat, Qualaroo, BIGContacts CRM, Picreel Popups and WebinarNinja. The company describes a shared "ProProfs Brain" in which "an answer written in Help Desk instantly powers your Quiz Maker, Knowledge Base and the rest of the suite." Its AI learning pitch is that "AI builds courses & quizzes, assigns learning, tracks goals & completion."
The evidence from the pages
The pages give little structured pricing. The ProProfs blog article lists Quiz Maker with "User Rating: 4.7 (G2)" and "Pricing: Starts at $27/month." The quiz page carries "Get Started Free" buttons, but it does not describe a free plan, a trial length or a usage limit, so check those on the pricing page before you plan around them. The pages name no response limits, quiz limits or user limits.
On security, the FAQ says the platform is "hosted on secure AWS and IBM data centers with SOC 2-level infrastructure." That wording describes the hosting, and the page does not say ProProfs holds a SOC 2 report itself. It names no other compliance standard.
Support is a real strength on paper. The site promises "Awesome Human Support" and lists the channels:
- Phone: "Real product experts answer, Mon-Fri, 8AM-6PM EST" at (855) 776-7763.
- Chat: "Live agent, under 2 minutes. Available 24/7."
- Email: a response "within one business day. Guaranteed," at support@proprofs.com.
- A help center with "1000+ help articles & video guides."
The company also frames itself as "building a 100-year company" with "simple honest pricing," though the pages shown carry few prices beyond the $27 figure.
Who it suits and who it does not
ProProfs Quiz Maker suits a training team that needs scored tests, certificates and reports, a school or business that wants to grade essays with an AI first pass, and an HR group that needs SSO, passwords and IP limits around an assessment. Because the suite shares one AI knowledge layer, it also appeals to a company that already runs ProProfs for support or training and wants quizzes to draw on the same content.
The caveats are about scope and clarity. The pages publish only one price, a starting figure, so budgeting means going to the pricing page for the plan details. The suite is large, and a solo creator who wants one short personality quiz may find the platform heavier than needed. The site also does not describe a public API, code export or a visual canvas for building logic, so deep customization is not something these pages promise.
