LinkDM is an Instagram marketing platform that automatically sends a DM to anyone who comments on your Reels, Posts, Ads, Inbox, Live or Stories. The company's FAQ says it exists to help creators boost affiliate revenue, blog views and website traffic by sending DMs with their links, so followers can find them. It is built for creators, brands and agencies, and the homepage says it is trusted by over 60,000 of them. It is built exclusively for Instagram, according to its own comparison page: you build comment-triggered DM automations, not a general chatbot.
What you build and how
Everything starts from an Instagram interaction and ends with a DM in the person's inbox. The homepage lists the surfaces one by one:
- Auto-reply to Reel comments and to post comments, with a DM sent straight to the user's inbox. You add trigger keywords or respond to all comments.
- Auto-respond to Story replies with a DM, again by keyword or for everything.
- Auto-reply to Story mentions, so an @mention also opens a conversation.
- Inbox Starters, which display up to 4 conversation starters when a user opens your Instagram inbox.
- Auto-reply to comments on sponsored ads, with a DM to the commenter, by keyword or for all comments.
The FAQ adds Live to that list, so a comment during a broadcast can also trigger a DM. The company's ManyChat comparison page lists further pieces: Next Post, Lead Gen, Facebook DM automation, flow automation, reminder DMs, a follower growth tool, and the ability to remove LinkDM branding. It also describes comment filtering. You can set up customized DM responses to comments and filter out unwanted comments by adding exclude keywords, and the page says the product tracks engagement metrics. The pages do not describe a visual flow canvas, so the page's "flow automation" entry is the only hint of multi-step logic and it is not explained further.
Sending safely is where LinkDM names its own features. The homepage promotes a DM Queue, "Never miss sending a DM with the advance queue system," and a Slow Down Mode for when "your Reels are blowing up." The comparison page labels 5 features as LinkDM originals: Rewind DMs, DM Overflow, DM Safety Queue, DM Planner and Slow Down Mode. The FAQ explains what happens when sending is throttled. Pro DMs are queued up and sent at the start of the next hour, while on the free plan, DMs resume to new comments only at the start of the next hour, so comments left during the pause are not queued.
On the account side, the company says it is a certified Meta Business Partner and a certified Instagram third-party developer. It states that it uses only the official Instagram APIs, never asks for your Instagram password, and stays compliant with Instagram's terms of service. If you have been burned by tools that log in as you, that is the relevant claim, and it is the company's own.
For the chatbot-builder reader, it helps to be plain about the shape of the product. LinkDM is a trigger, filter and reply builder tied to Instagram events. There is no knowledge base, no AI agent and no website or WhatsApp channel on the pages. The one adjacent thing it says outright is that it is not a link-in-bio service: it helps brands get more traffic to their Linktree links by sending them directly to the user's inbox.
2 business programs sit around the product. The referral program pays 30% of the total revenue a referred friend spends on a paid subscription during their first year, paid monthly, and is available to Pro users. The partner program is aimed at brands and affiliate platforms: it gives their users complimentary Pro access with no API or tech setup, fast onboarding, and custom DM branding such as "Powered by Your Brand," with flexible partner pricing. An affiliate platform can offer its users DM automation this way without building it.
Plans, pricing and limits
There are 2 plans on the pages. The free tier lets you send up to 1,000 DMs a month, and you do not need a credit card to use it. The FAQ also says you can sign up for a free account tier with no core feature limits. LinkDM Pro costs $19 USD a month, lets you manage up to 3 Instagram accounts, and adds premium features such as Inbox Automation, Advertising Automation and a higher number of DM sends per month. A credit card is required only when you upgrade. The pages do not give the Pro send cap as a number, and they do not describe any annual discount.
The homepage also prints headline results, dated as of December 2025: a 92% average open rate, a 74% average click-through rate and a 65% increase in engagement. These are the company's own averages, with no method given, so treat them as marketing figures rather than benchmarks.
The ManyChat comparison is the company's own and is aimed at making LinkDM look good. The table puts the cost to send 25,000 DMs at $19 USD for LinkDM and $199 USD for ManyChat, and the page calls LinkDM over 10x cheaper. It ticks the same box for both on being a Meta Business Partner, having a forever-free tier, and removing branding, and it marks Rewind DMs, DM Overflow, DM Safety Queue, DM Planner, Slow Down Mode and fast customer support as present for LinkDM and absent for ManyChat. That is a one-sided feature grid from a competitor, so confirm any ManyChat detail with ManyChat.
Support runs through an email address listed on the site, and there is a help and support area, a blog and a referral program page in the footer. The footer also lists comparison pages against Beacons.ai, High Level, ManyChat, Mobile Monkey, Stan and AutoDM. The pages name no hosting region, certification or data-retention terms beyond the Meta partner claim.
Who it suits and who it does not
LinkDM suits a creator, affiliate marketer or small brand whose growth runs through comments. If you post Reels that ask people to comment a word for a link, it automates the step where you used to answer each person by hand. The free tier lets you test on a few posts before paying, and Pro at $19 a month covers up to 3 accounts, which suits a creator with a couple of brand accounts or an agency starting out. The partner program suits an affiliate platform that wants to offer DM automation to its users.
It is a narrow tool. If you need WhatsApp, SMS or email next to Instagram, or a bot that answers free-form questions from your own content, the pages show nothing for that, and a broader chatbot builder fits better. On the free plan, the FAQ says DMs resume only for new comments after a pause, so a Reel that goes viral can leave some commenters without a DM unless you are on Pro. And the 1,000 DMs a month on Free is a real ceiling for an account with a large following.
