What Youform is

Youform is a form builder for surveys, quizzes and forms, pitched to founders, freelancers and small teams who want to collect answers without code and without paying per response. The home page headline calls it "a free online form builder" and promises "Beautiful forms, surveys, and quizzes. Unlimited responses. All for free." You can describe the form you need in a sentence and let AI draft the questions, start from a template, or build from scratch in a drag-and-drop editor. The home page claims 100,000+ users worldwide and 10M+ responses collected, and shows a 5/5 rating on Capterra. Its sign-off line reads "Made by humans, for humans."

What you build and how

The AI builder is the quickest start. You describe the form, survey or quiz you need, Youform AI drafts the questions, and you review the draft, make it yours and share it. The home page's example prompt is "Create a client intake form for my design studio. Ask about their project, budget, timeline, and how to get in touch." The footer lists dedicated AI tools for surveys, quizzes, personality quizzes, trivia quizzes, RSVP forms and consultation forms.

The editor is a visual drag-and-drop builder: you choose a block, write your question and drag it into place. Question types are grouped in three sets. The everyday ones are short text, long text, email, phone, number and website URL. Choice types are multiple choice, dropdown, picture choice, star rating, opinion scale and a 0-10 NPS question. The finishing touches are file upload, signature, date picker, checkboxes, a matrix grid and payments. Forms run in a conversational layout that keeps each step focused on one question.

Logic sits underneath. Conditional logic skips questions that don't apply, with the page's example of asking for a guest's name only when someone says they are bringing one. Answer recall uses an earlier answer in a later question, and hidden fields pass campaign details and other context through URL parameters. Calculations work out a quiz score or total and send people to the right ending, or redirect them to your next page. Email notifications alert you to a new response and can send a personalized follow-up to the respondent. Partial submissions, a Pro feature, keep answers given before someone presses Submit, and refill links let people continue later. Email and phone verification ask respondents to confirm with a one-time code; SMS verification uses your own Twilio account, with separate messaging charges.

Design control covers colors, Google Fonts, backgrounds, images, layouts, alignment and rounded corners, starting from a theme or from scratch. Your logo and uploaded fonts are also listed, and the survey page says adding a logo or custom domain requires Pro.

Publishing is free on every plan. You can embed a form inline by pasting code from the Share tab, open it as a popup from a button, start it inside an email, share a link or download a QR code for signs, packaging, menus or flyers. For email, you copy the HTML into an email builder such as Mailchimp or HubSpot and start with a rating, opinion scale, NPS or single-select question; clicking an answer continues the form in the browser. The site names WordPress, Webflow, Shopify and plain HTML as sites it works with, and forms adapt to phones, tablets and desktops. A custom domain such as forms.yourbrand.com comes with Pro.

Responses go to Google Sheets, alerts to Slack, and the home page says thousands of other tools connect through Zapier. Form analytics show how people find, start and finish a form, with advanced analytics and question drop-off listed separately. Youform MCP connects the account to ChatGPT or Claude so an assistant can answer questions about responses, find patterns and draw charts; you sign in and approve access, and review AI-generated changes before a form is published. For moving over, import tools convert a public Typeform link or a Google Form link into a Youform for you to review.

Teams get shared workspaces, invitations to the workspaces each person needs, and an activity log that exports as CSV. Templates give a head start: the home page shows client intake, customer feedback and event registration designs, and the survey page offers user satisfaction, market research and training evaluation survey templates. The footer groups ready-made use cases into lead generation, client onboarding, feedback forms, customer satisfaction, anonymous surveys and scheduling forms. The survey page also lays out a three-step method: define what you want to learn and the decision it should inform, build a focused survey from a template or from scratch, then publish, collect responses and compare the patterns. Free side tools include an NPS calculator, a sample size calculator, a UTM builder and a Google Form QR code generator.

The evidence from the pages

The free plan is the core offer. The FAQ says you can "create unlimited forms and collect unlimited responses on the free plan, within our fair usage guidelines. No credit card or trial countdown." The home page adds "No monthly submission quota, and no upgrade just because more people answer." The survey page lists custom domains, branding removal, Stripe payments and partial submissions as Pro features, and the home page FAQ adds team collaboration to Pro. Prices sit on a separate pricing page; the pages here give no Pro price.

On data handling, the home page says form data is encrypted in transit and at rest, that you can export or delete responses, and that Youform publishes GDPR information and a Data Processing Agreement.

Customer voices on the home page include Pieter Levels, founder of Nomad List and Remote OK: "Youform is an absolute joy to use." Capterra reviews quoted there praise fast support, and one says "Moved over from Typeform and saved $24,000/year WITHOUT dropping performance." The page labels them "Real customer experiences. Results and needs vary." Support runs through a help center, a contact page and the line "Ask us. We're real people."

The survey page cites a 2012 PLOS ONE study that found about 50% less missing answer data with one-question-at-a-time forms, and Venture Harbour's report that its enquiry-form conversion rose "from 0.96% to 8.1% after a multi-step redesign."

Who it suits and who it does not

Youform suits a solo founder with a contact form, a freelancer taking client intakes, an event organizer registering attendees, or a small team running customer and employee surveys who wants unlimited responses without a monthly quota. The AI builder, logic and Google Sheets or Zapier hand-offs cover most small-business form work on the free plan.

The caveats: branding removal, your logo, custom domains, payments and partial submissions require Pro, and the free plan's unlimited responses come with fair usage guidelines. It is a form and survey builder, so a team that needs a database or an internal app will pair it with another tool.
