What it is

Survio is an online survey and questionnaire builder for businesses and researchers who want to collect feedback and act on it. The company ranks itself among the top 3 online research services for user experience and says this has earned it "almost 2 000 great reviews on multiple portals from Trustpilot to Capterra and G2." It is a form tool in the survey sense: you build a questionnaire, share it, and read the results in online reports. The site shows it used for NPS tracking and employee feedback, and it describes itself as helping "thousands of businesses make data-driven decisions". It is a member of the ABUGO Group, and the site states EU data storage with a secondary location in the Czech Republic.

What you build and how

You build in a drag-and-drop editor. The site says to "use the drag-and-drop editor to build your form from 19 question types", including NPS, rating scales and multiple choice. The questionnaire page describes the work this way: "Creating a questionnaire is intuitive and visual. Just focus on your texts, question order and overall content quality." You add questions, multimedia, text blocks, pages and simple logic. Images and videos can sit inside questions, for example to share drafts of a new logo and get accurate answers about them. 2 logic features are named: you can jump respondents to a different question based on their previous answer, and you can hide specific questions on the same basis.

Design controls cover the basics that make a survey look like yours. You can add a logo or footer text, apply pre-built color themes or set a custom background, and adjust the questionnaire URL so the link is recognizable. The questionnaire can run in a custom language, and you can edit the system texts respondents see. The page lists "any language (excl. Asian / Arabic)". All questionnaires work on mobile devices without a separate mobile design, and the home page calls collection "Mobile friendly, omnichannel".

Templates are the quick start. The site advertises "100+ ready-made survey templates" assembled by professionals, with examples such as an employee performance questionnaire, a restaurant client feedback questionnaire, a brand awareness questionnaire and a shopping experience questionnaire. The page's pitch is that you do not need to be a survey methodologist: pick one, edit it and publish.

Settings give you operational control over a live survey. You can set when it is available, allow multiple submissions, stop respondents from returning to earlier questions, choose where data is stored, and add custom variables. After submission you can redirect respondents to your own website, and you can switch on e-mail notifications for new responses. For protection, the page lists password protection, blocking access from specific IP addresses, and disabling indexing by search engines.

You share a finished survey "via link, QR code, email, or embed it directly on your website". Results appear as online summary reports and individual responses on the free plan, with charts and advanced analytics on paid ones. The home page says you can combine "9 built-in distribution tools," including a survey campaign manager, website embedding and anonymous or non-anonymous collection, and watch metrics in real time. Results are generated automatically into reports and BI dashboards, with 9 chart types, multiple filters for segmentation and sharing by URL. One HR reviewer on the questionnaire page praises "the data collection, analysis, reporting & exporting capabilities".

For integration, the home page says you can "Transfer survey data smoothly in your systems via API" and "Launch survey invitation campaigns to automate customer feedback," with a link to a list of integrations. Survio PRO, the business offer, is summarized as "User management, custom dashboards, integrations, API." Team management lets you manage users and questionnaires across teams and branches, set roles and access permissions, monitor platform use through audit logs and activity tracking, and switch on Single Sign-On authentication. A recruitment manager quoted on the home page says Survio handles "over 1.400 surveys from all subsidiaries" for her company, which shows the multi-team use.

Privacy is built into the defaults. The FAQ says "all Survio questionnaires are anonymous by default" and that no personal data is collected from respondents unless you add fields requesting it. Premium plans add optional respondent identification for cases where you need to know who answered.

The evidence

The free plan is the clearest published term. The FAQ says it "includes unlimited surveys, unlimited questions, and 100 responses per month, no credit card required", with 19 question types, media in questions, QR codes, website embedding, workspaces, and online reports and individual responses. That is a free plan, not a trial. Paid plans, per the same answer, add more responses, custom branding, a logo, a custom exit page, team features and advanced analytics. The pages publish no paid-plan prices; the site offers a sales form for "Demo, Custom quote or any other commercial related query". The home page sums up the offer as "Basic features are always free," for businesses, non-profits or government.

On security the claims are specific. The site says Survio is "fully GDPR compliant and ISO 27001:2022 certified" and that "All data is stored on servers within the EU, with secondary storage in the Czech Republic", applying what it calls "Germany's strict GDPR standards, the highest in Europe". The home page adds 2048-bit SSL security and daily backups, and says Survio does not analyze, sell or share your data with third parties. The footer links a Data Processing Agreement and a Cyber Security page. Those are the company's statements.

Support is a selling point: the home page lists 24/7 support, a fast average response time and 94% customer satisfaction, and the FAQ says Survio provides "dedicated customer support in all languages." The template library comes with 70+ designs next to the 100+ templates. Sign-in works with Google or LinkedIn, or with an e-mail and password, and the sign-up prompt says "Create a survey, it's free" with no credit card required.

Customer proof is a mix of volume and short quotes. Besides the review count, the footer shows an "Excellent (945 reviews)" badge, and a CEO on the home page says the company uses Survio "for continuous NPS collection and evaluation as well as for regular employee feedback", adding that "Tight integration allows us to catch any change in the trends and react on time". An HR and marketing manager credits the survey templates. A marketing manager on the questionnaire page calls creation "straightforward and simple". These are selected testimonials from the vendor's own site.

Who it suits and who it does not

Survio suits teams that run recurring feedback programs: NPS tracking, employee satisfaction, customer research, event or restaurant feedback. The free plan's 100 responses a month fits a low-volume cadence, and EU data storage plus ISO 27001:2022 certification make it an easy case to put in front of a European privacy or procurement team. It also suits researchers and small businesses that want custom branding, logic jumps, password protection and multilingual questionnaires without a bigger platform, and companies with several branches that need roles, audit logs and SSO around their surveys.

The main limit is the response cap: past 100 responses a month you move to a paid plan, and prices come through the sales team. It is also a survey tool, not an app builder, so records, approvals and payments are outside its scope, and the API and integrations sit with Survio PRO. Questionnaire languages exclude Asian and Arabic scripts, per the site, which matters if your audience reads them.
