What SurveyLegend is
SurveyLegend is an online survey builder for businesses, teams, researchers and individuals who want to collect structured answers without writing code. Its tagline is "Create engaging surveys for any audience, on any device." The company behind it is SurveyLegend AB, which the site calls a privately held software company based in Sweden. It targets customer satisfaction, HR, education research, app feedback, SaaS product feedback and public opinion work, and its home page pitches a free plan first: "Experience drag-and-drop survey creation, higher completion rates and real-time results on the free plan."
It belongs with the form tools because the thing you build is a questionnaire that people fill in on a phone or desktop. It is not an app builder or workflow tool, so there is no database to design here. The depth is in question design, logic, distribution and reporting.
What you build and how
The editor is drag and drop. The site says it emphasizes design, with customizable themes, image-based questions and dynamic layouts, and that it pairs those with survey methodology tools: skip logic, conditional branching and response validation, all inside a visually structured builder. The home page demonstrates this with sample questions, including a 1 to 5 rating, a features list with an "Other" option, and a 0 to 10 scale for likelihood to recommend. One demo asks "Do you own a Rolls-Royce?" and then "Which model do you own?", which is the branching idea in miniature. Likert scale questions are mentioned on the survey maker page, and the page says you can start from customizable templates.
Logic is metered by plan, and it is the main thing to plan around. Starter includes 1 logic flow per survey, and Pro includes 10 logic flows per survey. The pages do not give a logic-flow figure for Business alongside the others, so confirm it before you design a long branching survey.
Survey types are a notable part of the pitch. The survey maker page presents web-based and embedded surveys alongside email (mail) surveys, SMS text surveys, panel surveys, telephone surveys, QR code surveys and mobile app surveys, plus specialized pop-up, kiosk, focus group and market research surveys. Each gets its own explanatory section on the page. Read these as the company's description of what the platform is used for. For example, the page describes a mail survey as one designed on the platform and sent to a list of email addresses, with respondents completing it from their inbox. It describes a mobile app survey as one embedded in an app so users are prompted while they navigate it. For sharing, the page lists email, social media and an embedded form.
Use cases on the home page show the reader it targets. A SaaS survey section covers current users, potential customers and trial users, and asks "How likely are you to recommend our software to others?" Another section covers mobile and in-app feedback. Education research appears as an "Education Policy Study" example. Political campaign surveys are shown with a question about the issue most important in an upcoming election. There is also an NPS section: the page says SurveyLegend uses a standardized 0 to 10 scale, automatically segments respondents into promoters, passives and detractors, and shows real-time dashboards with response distribution, percentage breakdown and trend analysis.
Reporting is live. The home page says the platform provides real-time analytics dashboards with response distribution, segmentation metrics and completion rates, and the Starter plan includes live analytics. Exports are where the free plan stops: Starter exports 0 responses per survey, and the survey maker page says response exports require a paid plan, with export limits and integration availability depending on the feature and plan. If your workflow needs responses in a spreadsheet, you are choosing between Pro and Business.
The home page also shows an audience builder concept, "Build the right audience by age, location, interests, and more", with audience filters and a matched-respondent estimate. Treat it as a panel and reach feature to confirm with the company in a demo, which the site offers through a Book a demo button.
On AI, the site is plain. It says AI survey creation from a prompt is planned for Q1 2027 and "is not available in SurveyLegend today". You build with the existing editor now.
Plans and limits from the pages
Three plan cards are visible. Starter is "Free forever", described as perfect for getting started with simple surveys: 1 user, 3 surveys, 1K responses per survey, export 0 responses per survey and 1 logic flow per survey.
Pro is shown as $15 a month billed annually ($170 a year, saving $58) or $19 a month. It is described as "Great for individuals and growing projects", with 1 user, 20 surveys, 5K responses per survey, export of 1K responses per survey and 10 logic flows per survey. The card shows a 25% saving for yearly billing.
Business is shown as $25 a month billed annually ($300 a year, saving $168) or $39 a month, marked "Most popular" and described as "Best value for businesses and serious survey creators". It lists 1 user, unlimited surveys, 20K responses per survey and an export of 10K responses per survey. The yearly saving is shown as 36%, and the page says 78% of paid customers choose yearly billing.
Notice that each of the three cards lists 1 user. A team sharing a login or needing role-based access should ask about that before committing.
On security, the survey maker page says upgrading gives enhanced bot protection, additional features and higher limits, while surveys are protected on every plan and all surveys receive the same core security protections. The pages name no compliance certifications and no hosting regions.
Who it suits and who it does not
SurveyLegend suits individuals, small businesses and research projects that want a polished, mobile-friendly survey without a large commitment. The free plan is a genuine way to test: 3 surveys and 1,000 responses each is enough for a pilot. Pro suits a consultant or a growing project running a handful of surveys with a few thousand responses and some branching. Business suits someone who runs many surveys and wants exports of up to 10K responses per survey.
It is less suited to teams who need many seats under one account, since each plan card lists 1 user, or to anyone who needs AI drafting today, since that is planned. Free-plan users can't export responses at all, and branching is capped at 1 logic flow per survey on Starter. For regulated enterprise buyers, the pages offer a demo but no compliance detail, so that conversation has to happen directly.
