What Pollfish is

Pollfish is an online survey platform for market research. The company's homepage calls it "the all-in-one survey platform to get trusted insights from millions" and says it "was built for researchers by researchers." It is aimed at product, marketing and insights teams who want answers from a defined audience quickly, rather than at someone who only needs a contact form on a website. The company's blog names Prodege as its parent company and describes the respondent audience as first-party: members of the loyalty and rewards programs Prodege owns and operates. Prodege also runs the full-service research offer.

That is the main difference from a typical form builder. With most tools you write the questions and then find your own respondents. At Pollfish you write the questions, pick who should answer them, and the platform supplies the people. The homepage sums up the model in 4 short claims: survey innovation, an owned audience, researchers available 24/7, and a flexible model it describes as "free platform, no licenses, no seats."

What you build and how

You build a survey in the Survey Maker, which the site lists next to AI Survey Tools, Survey Features, Survey Targeting and Survey Analysis. The company's blog says the builder supports "sophisticated skip logic and branching," so a respondent sees only the questions that apply to their earlier answers. It also lists advanced questionnaire design among its strengths. A customer testimonial on the homepage says the "AI plug in" is "great for generating questions."

Audience targeting is part of building, not a separate step. You add audience filters while you design the survey, and each filter changes the price. The pricing example on the company's blog uses a US household income filter of $75,000 to $99,999 and a filter for a minimum of 1 pet in the household. The total cost per response updates as you add them, so you see what the study will cost before you confirm the purchase.

Once responses arrive, analysis happens inside the platform. The company says you can segment data across multiple variables and generate custom-branded charts and graphs without exporting to spreadsheets or other tools, "but you can if you need to." Charts are created automatically, with the platform choosing the chart type that fits each question. You can narrow the view to a defined group, for example parents of young children, to see patterns in that segment alone. The Insights Builder produces multi-variable visualizations, and the page says it is available for large-scale research needs and full-service projects. For results that have to leave the platform, the blog lists export options for visualizations and presentations including PDF, Excel, Crosstabs and SPSS.

Teams get shared workspaces. The homepage says the platform simplifies research management with single sign-on, shared access, organized folders and one-click survey duplication. That matters if you run the same tracker every month or manage studies for several clients, which the homepage describes as "a constant stream of trackers for dozens of clients in dozens of countries."

For projects where you would rather not run the study yourself, a Full Service option sits beside the self-serve platform. Its use cases are listed as ad and creative testing, brand tracking, concept testing, market segmentation, package and label testing, path to purchase tracking, PR and content marketing, pricing research, and usage and attitude studies. Industry pages cover automotive, consulting, CPG, financial services, marketing and PR, media and entertainment, mobile apps and gaming, retail and technology.

Respondent quality is a large part of the pitch, so it is worth understanding. The company says every new panelist goes through a 14-day evaluation period, filling out internal surveys, and only those who pass can take paid client surveys. Because Prodege rewards members for activities such as playing games, shopping online and uploading shopping receipts, Pollfish says it can cross-check what people claim against what they do. Its example: a respondent who says they don't own a cat but regularly uploads receipts for cat products may be flagged and prompted to update the profile. The company also says it doesn't urge panelists to complete surveys, to limit survey fatigue, and it applies safeguards against rushed, low-quality or contradictory answers. Its quality section carries titles such as "Meet Real Members," "Audience Pledge" and "11 Trust Verifications."

Plans, claims and support

Pricing is the clearest part. The company's blog describes "a flat per-response rate that starts at $0.95, with discounts for large volumes." The company states it adds no subscription fees, hidden costs or extra charges for more users. It also says there are no long-term contracts or minimum spend: you can run surveys as rarely or often as you need, and you are not charged beyond your usage.

The worked example is specific. A base cost of $0.95 per response plus 2 audience filters at $0.55 each gives $2.05 per response, and 600 responses display upfront as $1,230. The line the company uses is "What you see is what you pay."

Seats are not metered. The page says "your entire team can access Pollfish to create surveys, view results, and generate reports, all under a single account at no additional cost per user," and that you won't pay individual license fees or face seat restrictions. If several teams use the platform, you can switch between them in a few clicks.

Scale and support claims, all stated by the company, are these. The homepage says "13,673 businesses trust Pollfish" and that it supports "dozens of Fortune 500 clients." The blog promises "genuine 24/7 support via live chat or phone, including on evenings and weekends," and says its market research experts can help with study design, audience targeting and analysis, not only technical troubleshooting. The footer links pages titled GDPR Compliance and CCPA Compliance, and an Accessibility Statement, and the menu lists an Award & Certifications page. The blog invites readers to sign up for a free Pollfish account with no credit card required.

Reviews appear in two forms. The company's blog says customers highlight its conditional branching in reviews on Trustpilot and G2, among others, and quotes one reviewer: "I especially liked how we set up the logic for the questions." The homepage testimonials include "Could not believe how fast the 500 survey responses happened" and "The ability to cut data is phenomenal." These are selected by the company and should be read as such.

Who it suits and who it does not

Pollfish fits a marketer testing ad creative or packaging, a product manager checking a concept before building it, or a consultant who needs a quick read on a consumer segment. Pay-per-response pricing with unlimited seats suits a small team that runs research in bursts, since nothing is billed between projects and adding a colleague costs nothing. Teams that want expert help can lean on the 24/7 researchers and the Full Service option.

It is a weaker fit if your respondents must be your own customers, subscribers or a niche community, because the audience here is the one Pollfish supplies. Costs also scale with response count and filters: the same example that totals $1,230 for 600 responses grows with every added filter, so a large, narrowly targeted study can cost far more than the headline $0.95. The Insights Builder is limited to large-scale and full-service work, so a small self-serve project will rely on the standard charts and segmentation.
