What Mentimeter is
Mentimeter is an interactive presentation and audience participation tool. You build slides that ask the room a question, and the audience answers from their own devices while you present. It covers quizzes, live polls, surveys, Q&A sessions and word clouds, so it sits in the forms and quiz-maker categories by way of what it produces: structured answers from a group of people.
The reader it serves most directly is a teacher, trainer, meeting host or conference organizer who wants a live room to respond, and an HR or communications team that wants recurring feedback. The homepage says the product is "Trusted by 500+ million users worldwide" and talks about making decisions as a team, making content memorable and keeping everyone engaged.
What you build and how
One account, 3 products. The homepage introduces "the new Menti" as "One account. Three ways to engage." Menti Live runs polls, quizzes, word clouds and Q&A in the room or online, and "Works on any device, no login required." Menti Form builds surveys that "Combine interactive content, public responses and question logic to get deeper insights. Any time, anywhere." Menti Pulse runs recurring check-ins to spot shifts in confidence, alignment or team health over time.
Starting a presentation. The homepage says "Choose a template, create from scratch, or prompt AI. You'll be ready to present and interact in no time, no matter where your audience is." Templates are customizable, and the Instant presentations option is described as "Prompt our AI, customize, interact. Done!", pointing to a free AI Menti Creator that builds interactive presentations in seconds. The setup is "Use with any tool. In-room, remote, or both." The free plan's Menti AI is described as creating full Mentis, suggesting questions and grouping live responses; the features page says AI grouping helps you spot trends and prioritize questions.
Slide and question types. The homepage names Word Cloud (participants' input visualized in real time), Quiz (questions with set correct answers), Poll (votes on set options) and Open Ended (collect and display responses). The plans FAQ explains that a Quiz is a competition: the results from all quiz questions in one presentation add up to a final winner. The features page adds scales and says quizzes can switch to self-paced mode when needed.
Quizzes. Per the quiz page FAQ, question types include multiple choice, true/false and open-ended formats, and "ready-made quiz templates" exist for classrooms, training sessions and team meetings. The AI creation tool builds a quiz from a topic or from your own content: "Simply provide a topic, or your own content, and the AI tool builds quiz questions that are ready-to-use." Participants join with a code. After a session you can save and access the results in your account, review responses and export them.
Surveys. The survey page says you create a survey by adding questions, choosing how participants respond and sharing a join code or link. You can run surveys live during meetings, classes and events, or collect responses asynchronously through a shared link. Templates named on the page include a Course Feedback Survey for the end of a course, Get to Know Your Onboarding Group, which uses the segmentation feature of the Multiple Choice slide, and Exam reflection, a check-in with students after an exam. The features page says you can run surveys before, during or after a meeting or lecture.
Respondents. Participants "can join a Mentimeter presentation using a join link or presentation code without creating an account", and the homepage stresses live, anonymous feedback and an open, anonymous Q&A forum. Answers appear on the host screen in real time.
Where it plugs in. The integrations page lists learning platforms and meeting tools. Under education it names Blackboard, Moodle and Brightspace, with the line "Anonymous by default, gradebook sync when needed." Under applications it lists PowerPoint ("Use Mentimeter directly in your Powerpoint presentations to make them interactive"), Microsoft Teams ("Engage attendees with Polls, Quizzes, Q&A and more in your Teams meetings") and Zoom. The features FAQ adds Google Slides, and the plans table lists embedding slides from PowerPoint Web, Google Slides and Miro. The product is built for the live moment and the report after it rather than as a general app or workflow platform.
Audience size. The features page says Mentimeter is "designed for audiences of all sizes, from classroom activities and team meetings to conferences and large-scale events."
Plans and limits
4 plans. The plans page lists Free, Basic, Pro and Enterprise. Free is the "Easiest way to try Mentimeter" with Menti AI, 50 participants per month plus "Unlimited participants once per month", 23 slide types, and results insights. Basic, "Unlimited engagement for individuals", adds unlimited participants, import of PowerPoint, Keynote or PDF files, and export of results in Excel or PDF. Pro, "Powerful tools for growing teams", adds design and branding options, workspace collaboration, co-creating slides and Mentimote, which lets you control a live Menti from your phone, flip slides, check results and moderate Q&A. Enterprise is custom and adds Single Sign-On, participant verification, SCIM for license and role management, tailored onboarding and workspace insights. Basic and Pro are priced per presenter per month and billed yearly, excluding tax; the plans page text carries no figures for them.
How the limit works. The plans page defines "participants per month" as the monthly total across all the presentations you hold, resetting every month on the day you signed up. If you reach the limit, "we will never prevent participants from joining and voting on an ongoing presentation": you get a grace period of 8 hours to finish, then can't set further presentations live until the limit resets.
Billing. Basic and Pro are sold only as yearly subscriptions, paid by credit card, debit card or PayPal through the payment providers Braintree and Stripe. Pro and Enterprise can also be paid by bank transfer, with Net-30 terms for Pro in selected countries, suspension if funds don't arrive within 30 days, and administrative fees; checks are not accepted. A full refund is offered if you cancel "within fourteen (14) days from the day you purchased" and haven't used Mentimeter at a live event. There are discounted offers for educators, and a one-off pricing plan for a single event such as a conference.
Enterprise and security. The enterprise page says each user who creates, edits or presents needs their own account, meaning their own license. With 100+ licenses it lists access control, SCIM, SSO, custom data retention, data protection and an ISO information security management system, with a Trust Center linked. It shows a "4.76 rating out of 671 review" figure and offers a customer success team for setup, training and license management.
Customer stories. The enterprise and stories pages cite Deloitte Germany ("Interaction makes Deloitte Germany's meetings more effective"), the NHS, which improved its training experience, Siemens Healthineers, Implement Consulting Group and the University of Greenwich. Support starts at the Help center, with email support at hello@mentimeter.com.
Who it suits, and the caveats
A teacher or lecturer who wants to check understanding mid-class can run a quiz with a join code, review the responses and export the results, and the LMS integrations with Blackboard, Moodle and Brightspace speak directly to that. A trainer or team lead running sessions in Zoom or Teams gets polls, Q&A and quizzes inside the meeting. A conference organizer has a one-off plan. An HR or L&D team can use Menti Form and Menti Pulse for course feedback, onboarding and recurring check-ins, and an IT team gets SSO, SCIM and data retention on Enterprise.
The caveats are real. The free plan's 50 participants per month is a small ceiling for a large lecture or a recurring all-hands, since the count is monthly across all presentations. Paid plans are yearly only, so a short project means a year's commitment or the event plan. And Mentimeter collects answers from an audience; it is not built for multi-step application forms, payments or workflows with a database behind them.
