What StarfishETL is

StarfishETL is a low-code integration and data migration platform, sold with a services team behind it. The company is at 11 N. Northwest Highway in Park Ridge, Illinois, and the homepage carries a "Satisfied Customers Since 1991" banner and a 1992 to 2026 copyright line. Its integration product is called Cloud Cartographer, described on the homepage as "a low-code iPaaS (Integration Platform as a Service) that amplifies integration capabilities, giving you complete control." The reader is an IT, data or operations person who has to move records between a CRM, an ERP, a database and a warehouse, either as a one-time migration or as an ongoing integration, and who would rather map fields than write scripts.

What you build and how

The site separates the work into integration, migration and data services.

Integrations. The homepage says "Connect your applications, automate your workflows, and streamline your operations. ... Use one of our starter templates or build your own. The possibilities are infinite." The menu lists Starter Integration Templates, and the use cases on the homepage are integrating front and back office operations, streamlining processes and departmental communication, simplifying API queries, building data warehouses and data lakes, and letting users "work in their preferred system." Further use cases on the same list are optimizing data governance enforcement, lowering IT overhead and fostering better connections with customers and partners. The "work in their preferred system" item is the workflow-automation angle: StarfishETL moves data between systems so each team can stay in its own tool.

Migrations. The pitch is "Migration as Easy as E-T-L," meaning Extract, Transform, Load. The site says it has "a vast library of pre-configured maps and connectivity to more than 400 applications," can move data "even if it's hosted on-premises," and lets you choose: "Let one of our experts migrate your data for you, or do it yourself." A separate menu holds Starter Migration Templates. A Connectors section holds a page per application. The NetHunt CRM page, for example, offers migration to NetHunt CRM or integration of it with other apps, shows a list of 12 apps it can connect with (HubSpot Marketing Hub, Twilio, Epicor Kinetic ERP, Marketo, Infor SyteLine, ACT!, PostgreSQL, QuickBooks, Sales Creatio, Salesforce, Freshworks CRM and NetSuite), and states that "This is a read only connector." Connector capabilities therefore differ from one application to the next. The same page describes migration to NetHunt CRM as using pre-configured maps and adding custom fields "without a ton of heavy coding," with the choice to "do it yourself (DIY), or let our experts handle the migration on your behalf."

The editor. The connector pages describe the platform as "built on a low code platform that enables the use of visual, drag-and-drop features to complete aspects of the project that would have otherwise required coding knowledge," so that "less technical users" can understand and edit projects without heavy reliance on IT or DevOps. Joe I. of NEC Display Solutions writes that "The number of connectors were off the charts," that building maps between a client-server database and a cloud one "was easier than i thought it would be," and praises "Very powerful code based options," so code sits behind the visual layer for harder cases. A Map Mentoring resource, a StarfishETL Terminology page and a Videos section support learning.

AI features. The homepage announces "StarfishETL AI Enhancements": "AI-assisted features to streamline field mapping, script writing, and SQL query writing." A blog post dated September 30, 2024 announced the suite of AI-powered features, and a webinar listed on the site says "StarfishETL now includes an AI assistant for SQL query writing, field mapping, and script writing." A later post, dated April 21, 2025, introduces AIQuery, which the company says brings AI into workflows for analyzing, summarizing and transforming data.

Data services. Beyond the tool, the company lists services for full-service integration and migration, data archiving, data cleaning and enhancement, data governance, data lake and warehouse preparation, notification management and "siloed data." These are services the company performs for you or with you, so the product is closer to a platform plus consultancy than a pure self-serve tool. There is also a partner network, and a Connect Creatio page.

Where it runs. The site states the platform works whether you are "working from a Cloud, on-premises, or hybrid environment." A reviewer on the homepage says it "runs on prem, in cloud, or virtual private cloud."

What the pages say

Pricing. The navigation has a Pricing page and the homepage button says "Request a Quote," but no prices, plan names or usage limits appear in the text. No free plan or trial is stated.

Security and compliance. The homepage lists "Encrypted SSL," "AES 224-bit encryption for passwords" and "Safe connections through firewalls." A connector page says the platform is "backed by Amazon Web" for encryption, cloud security and data law compliance. It also has a SOC2 section, but the wording is dated: "StarfishETL will be SOC2 compliant by the end of 2022." The menu has a StarfishETL Security page, and the footer links GDPR Compliance Documentation, a Cookie Policy and a Privacy Policy.

Customer comments. The homepage carries 8 testimonials. Charles C. says the interface is "very intuitive, so any database connoisseur can handle it," so new staff need little training. Brad D. calls it "cost-effective and flexible" and says it "works w/ on prem and cloud data sources." Mohit M. of Dinan & Co, LLC writes "Our migration to Salesforce involved moving over 3 million records" and praises the support team. Crystal H. of Vector Software says the team handled its migration to SFDC "within 3 days." Katie T. of the National Bureau of Property Administration says the tool lets her staff import several layers of records that would take a long time to create by hand, Amy D. of the US Army uses it for "keeping track of the status of individuals," and Luke R. of Resolv Inc. used it to convert "from a on-premises CRM to a cloud based CRM." These are individual reviewers' accounts, not company benchmarks.

Support. The site has a Support page and a contact form that promises the team will "reach out," asking for country or region so it can coordinate a consultation in the buyer's time zone. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Blog topics include APIs versus EDIs for organizations that rely on legacy technology and the cost of an Infor SyteLine CRM integration, which matches the ERP and CRM work the connectors target.

Who it suits

StarfishETL suits a mid-sized company, or a Salesforce, NetSuite or Infor consultant, that has a defined migration or integration to complete and values being able to hand it to experts or do it in-house with templates. Its on-premises and hybrid story matters for organizations with legacy databases that cannot move to the cloud yet, and the testimonials come from that world: an on-premises CRM moving to a cloud CRM, a client-server database linked to a cloud one.

It is a less obvious fit for a founder who wants to sign up, drag two SaaS apps together and pay by card, since the front door is a quote request. It is also not an end-user app or form builder: what it builds is the data flow between systems. Connector depth varies, as the read-only NetHunt connector shows, and the SOC2 statement on that page still speaks of 2022 in the future tense.
