What it is

Boomi is an enterprise integration and automation platform. The homepage calls it "the trusted and proven enterprise-grade solution to connect applications, data, and APIs across your hybrid multi-cloud landscape with speed and ease," and the company's current pitch is an AI-native platform, the Boomi Enterprise Platform, that "brings integration, APIs, data, and AI together on one connected platform." It is written for IT and integration teams at larger organizations, plus the business teams that use what they build. The legal entity on the site is Boomi, LP, and the company says it is "trusted by 30,000+ businesses worldwide." Its own tagline is "The Data Activation Company."

What you build and how

Boomi is a family of products under one platform, and the navigation names them. Under Integration and Automation sit Integration, Flow, Event Streams, B2B/EDI Management, Task Automation and Managed File Transfer. Under API Management sit API Management, API Governance, API Security and API Products. Under AI Infrastructure sit the Agent Control Plane, Agentstudio, Boomi Connect and AI Gateway. A Data Management area, described as a way to "integrate, govern, and activate clean, contextual data," covers Data Integration, Data Hub, Meta Hub, Knowledge Hub, Reverse ETL and CDC Replication, which promises to "replicate your database to a cloud data warehouse in a few clicks."

The core is integration: "Connect your applications and data." The standard integration features on the pricing page are "access to full library of standard connectors" and "mapping and transformation," and the migration page describes the builder as a "low-code drag-and-drop environment." Flow is a separate tool for people who want to "build user experiences with low-code," so a team can put a front end on a process, not just move data behind it. Event Streams is for "real-time, event-driven integrations." B2B/EDI Management is for automating "business data exchange" between companies, and Managed File Transfer is a way to "secure and simplify file transfers."

Named connectors in the integrations menu include SAP, AWS, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Oracle NetSuite, Slack and Workday, with dedicated pages for connecting NetSuite, Snowflake, ChatGPT, ServiceNow, Shopify and Google Drive. A Boomi Marketplace and a catalog of MCP connectors sit alongside, and AWS, ServiceNow and Snowflake are listed as strategic alliances.

For workflow automation, the product that matches is Task Automation, described as "Automate repetitive tasks with no-code." Integrations themselves are also the workflows, and the Professional integration plan adds "advanced process orchestration and workflow." A newer Orchestrate product is pitched as "a whole new way to build agentic workflows," and the platform page describes business orchestration as a way to "build solutions by orchestrating agents, integrations, APIs, agents, and data models on a single canvas."

For chatbot and agent builders, the match is the agent layer. The homepage says "Build AI Agents: Build no-code agents fast and win back time with pre-built agents." Agentstudio is the place to "build, govern and orchestrate all agents," and the Agent Control Plane page lists agent build with "no-code design, BYOM, guardrails, and 300+ customizable templates," plus agent workflow orchestration that turns "business intent into coordinated workflows across people, systems, and agents using natural language." Boomi Connect is described as a way to "give AI instant governed access to 1000+ enterprise tools," and a related page says it can "turn enterprise assets into governed MCP tools for agents." AI Gateway is meant to "control every AI & MCP interaction," with model routing and token usage tracking. These are agents that act inside business systems under governance, rather than a widget for a public website chat window. The homepage says customers run Agentstudio agents in production "with hallucination rates under half a percent."

Governance is the thread running through the AI pages. The platform page argues "Intelligence is abundant. Control is scarce," and promises to help you "protect data, govern agent sprawl, and contain skyrocketing costs." It says you can "deploy its distributed runtime anywhere, including behind your firewall," and host "in the cloud, on-premises, or with a completely managed, zero-footprint solution." API Management is described as the place to "design, secure, and govern APIs in minutes," with API Governance meant to "enforce API quality from design to retirement," and an Embedded offer lets software vendors "integrate capabilities into your own solutions."

The evidence from the pages

Pricing: the pricing page offers subscription plans, pay-as-you-go and a free trial. The Boomi Free Trial is "$0 for 30 days" and includes core integration features, low-code development, data mapping tools, basic API management and learning resources. Pay-As-You-Go costs "$99 per month plus usage, billed monthly," with "no contract," "unlimited usage" and "self-service, frictionless signup via credit card." There is no free plan.

Subscription plans are quoted by sales. For Integration, the standard features include email and community support ("no phone support") and production deployment only. Professional adds advanced process orchestration, deployment to Boomi's hosted public cloud and multiple environments; Professional Plus adds API-enabled integrations; Enterprise adds custom roles and clustered runtimes for high availability; Enterprise Plus adds message queuing. API Management runs through the same four tier names. Data Integration has a Base edition with one environment, two users and unlimited connections, rising to Enterprise with unlimited environments and an enterprise SLA; Single Sign-On and SCIM appear from its Professional Plus tier. Data Hub's standard features include unlimited users. The FAQ says plans are annual, pay-as-you-go is monthly, "User limits vary by plan," and "Base includes community support, while higher tiers offer priority and dedicated support options."

Security and compliance: the platform page lists "FedRAMP, SOC 1/2, ISO 27001/42001, StateRAMP, HIPAA and more," and the agent page claims "16+ security and compliance certifications including ISO 42001."

Customer results the homepage reports: Amneal Pharmaceuticals with "93% faster error detection," and PTC with a 75% reduction in API development time and "60+ reusable APIs created with Boomi." The company says it is a "12x" consecutive leader in Gartner's iPaaS Magic Quadrant, and the pricing page shows 4.4 ratings on G2 and Capterra. Training lists "100+ courses to master the Boomi platform," next to a community, help and developer docs, support tickets and a status page.

Who it suits and who it does not

Boomi suits an organization with many applications, partners and APIs to connect, which wants one vendor for integration, B2B exchange, API governance and now agent governance, and which needs the certifications a regulated or public-sector buyer asks for. The $99 pay-as-you-go plan and the 30-day trial give a technical team a way to start without a contract, and the migration page and professional services help teams leaving a legacy integration product.

It is more than most solo founders, freelancers and small operations teams need. The product list is long, the pages assume an IT or integration function, and the subscription tiers carry no published prices. The agent pages emphasize control, cost governance and access to enterprise tools, so someone who wants a simple chatbot on a marketing site is not the reader these pages address.
