What it is
AI App Builder is a prompt-based app builder made by Slashdev, which also sells engineering services through the same site. It is written for entrepreneurs, business owners and "anyone with an idea" who want working software without learning to code. The home page headline is "Build Your Next App With AI In Seconds", with a single box that reads "Describe your app idea", and the footer says the product is "Powered by slashdev.io".
The site describes the product in one sentence: you tell the AI what you want to build in plain English, and it "creates production-ready code including frontend interfaces, backend logic, databases, and APIs", in minutes instead of months. It also says you can "build sophisticated applications without writing a single line of code", and the site carries low-code and no-code landing pages side by side. What sets it apart in the pitch is that the output is code you own, with an engineering team on call behind it: the home page calls it "Build with AI, Backed by Engineers".
What you build and how
The editor is a description. You write what the application should do in natural language. The FAQ answers the obvious question directly: "Do I need programming experience? No! Our AI handles all the technical implementation." The AI then generates the code for every layer: the user interface, the logic on the server, the database and the API. You keep working with the AI afterward, since the FAQ says you can make "iterative improvements by describing changes in conversational language". The landing pages sum up the flow in three steps: describe your app, the AI builds it, then preview, customize and deploy.
The stack it writes. The FAQ names the technologies: React for frontends, Node.js or Laravel for backends and PostgreSQL for databases, with authentication, APIs and deployment configurations included. The landing pages list built-in features as "authentication, databases, APIs, and more", plus responsive design for all screen sizes. Developers get their own set of pages for React, Next.js, Laravel, TypeScript, Node.js, Tailwind, fullstack, API, REST API, GraphQL, backend, frontend, database, schema, component, UI and authentication builders, along with a Stripe integration builder and a webhook builder.
Templates. A template gallery opens with "Start from a Template" and lists 9 starting points, each tagged by level: a multi-vendor Marketplace and an analytics Dashboard (advanced), a Tech Store, Blog Platform, Social App and Kanban Board (intermediate), and a SaaS Landing Page, Portfolio and AI Chatbot with streaming responses (beginner). Each template is customized with AI after you pick it, and filters sort them into business and marketing, productivity, creative and AI.
What kinds of apps. The site is organized around a long list of landing pages that show the use cases the company targets. Under solutions are web apps, blogs, e-commerce, landing pages, portfolios, dashboards, admin panels, CRM, marketplaces, booking apps, inventory systems, membership sites, directories, forms, surveys, quizzes, event sites, job boards and social networks, plus project management, HR, invoicing, scheduling, customer portals, learning and course platforms, newsletters, reviews, donations, subscriptions, and restaurant, real estate, fitness and healthcare apps. Mobile has its own pages, with iOS and Android variants, and the platform group covers internal tools, workflow and automation builders, an MVP builder, a startup builder and agency and freelancer tools.
Publishing and hosting. The home page section "Powered by Slashdev Cloud" offers one-click deploy: "Take your AI-built applications from prototype to production instantly." It describes three steps, build with AI, click deploy and "You're Live", with your app "online with a custom domain instantly". The company says its proprietary servers are "optimized for fullstack applications worldwide" and that automatic SSL certificates are included. Under the deploy button it adds "No credit card required", "Deploy unlimited apps" and "Cancel anytime".
Owning the code. The FAQ is explicit that you can change what the AI wrote: "You get complete source code access and can make any customizations you want." It also says you own all the code and can deploy it to AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Vercel, Netlify or your own servers, and that you are "never locked into any specific hosting provider or platform". So there are 2 routes to production: Slashdev Cloud in one click, or export and host anywhere.
When AI is not enough. The Engineering Services page offers Slashdev's developers at $50 an hour for custom application development, AI and LLM integration, DevOps and cloud infrastructure, and technical consulting such as architecture and code review. The home page profiles engineers marked "Available for hire", with 8 to 10 years of experience each, and says you can "Start with AI, upgrade to custom engineering support at $50/hour when ready".
Plans, proof and support
Price. The FAQ says: "Plans start at $49/month for unlimited application generation." The comparison table puts AI App Builder at "From $49/month" against $50,000 - $150,000+ for traditional development, and the landing pages claim you "Save $50,000+ compared to hiring developers". Those are the company's own comparisons. The home page offers "First 10 Credits Free - Try Now", and the FAQ also mentions starting with a free trial. The pricing page itself shows only "Loading pricing..." as its text, so it adds no plan names or tiers beyond the $49 starting point. A Refunds link sits in the footer of the landing pages.
Reach and recognition. The company says "Join thousands of creators building with AI", without a precise count. The home page shows 2 badges: "Top Software Developer, 2026 Clutch Ranking" and "Top App Developer, 2026 Business of Apps".
Security. The home page claims "Enterprise-Grade Security", "Bank-level security and automatic SSL certificates", and "Built-in security best practices" in generated code, all in the company's words.
Support. Beyond the paid engineering route, the Engineering Services page offers a free consultation, direct communication with developers, and links to SlashDev.io and an email contact. A Learn section carries answer pages including "What Is Vibe Coding?", "For Non-Technical Founders" and an "Idea to App Guide". A language selector sits in the header.
Who it suits and who it does not
The fit is a non-technical founder or small business that wants a first version of a product, wants it live quickly on a custom domain, and likes the idea of leaving with real source code. It also suits a freelancer or agency who wants to start client projects from generated React and Node.js or Laravel code, then continue by hand. The combination of one-click hosting, complete source access and an hourly engineering team behind the AI is the main draw.
It fits less well for someone who needs a full pricing table before trying anything, since the public figure is the $49 starting price and 10 free credits. A user who cannot read code will also depend on the AI, or on Slashdev's paid engineering help, when something needs fixing in the generated source, so budget for that possibility on anything that matters.
