What SiteW is

SiteW is a French no-code website builder for small business owners, associations and independent creators who want to build and run a site without technical skills or a hired developer. The company calls itself "The French no-code tool for creating your website" and says it has 19 years of expertise, with 100,000+ active users and 2.0 million websites created. The site describes its mission as enabling you to build a website for a professional, associative or institutional project. It also covers online stores, and an online store builder is a named part of the offer.

What you build and how

The editor is drag and drop. The pages say you drag blocks to build the site, and that you can start from templates for either a website or an online store. Four steps get you going: create a free account, fill in some information about your project, choose a template to customize, and build the site. The company says its team improves the tool every day and invites feedback on the editor.

An AI assistant called Waia sits on top of that. The homepage describes it as "your personal webmaster AI assistant who creates your website". Waia asks you questions, writes your texts, selects your images and optimizes your SEO, so that a project turns into a complete site in minutes. The AI also appears in two named features, organic SEO and responsive design. The home page says the AI in the editor can "Improve, summarize, reduce, extend or translate all your texts, including your blog articles and product pages of your store," and write and optimize metadata, meaning the descriptions search engines read, "All of this with just one click!" It adds that new AI features are coming soon, and that Waia keeps supporting you "even after your site is live" when you need a new page or better content.

Beyond a plain brochure site, the homepage lists what you can drag onto a page: a blog, a gallery or portfolio, a newsletter, a calendar for online bookings, and forms. The forms feature covers contact or quote forms and custom online surveys. Further building blocks on the features list include an image bank of "professional-quality and royalty-free images," embeds for your social networks, and "Integration of external services," which the company says the editor's flexibility lets you embed directly into a site. A legal notice tool adds legal notices, GDPR compliance, cookie management and terms and conditions, and the home page says SiteW "enables you to comply with different privacy laws: GDPR, cookie banner, consent management." An email marketing tool is built in, so you can create, manage and send campaigns from the builder without a third-party service, and the site says it is included for free in all subscriptions from Showcase Advanced.

The online store side is its own page. You can add your products, descriptions and prices straight away and begin selling. The company states it does not charge any commission on your online store revenue and gives the figure as a 0% commission rate. It lists automatic stock management, billing, customer follow-up, promotional tools and newsletters as the tools for opening a shop, and mentions click and collect for selling locally or worldwide. The page also shows webstores made with SiteW, for example an oil mill in Auvergne, a 3D printing specialist, a climbing holds shop and a ceramics maker in the Trièves mountains. These give a sense of the small, craft and specialist shops it targets.

Publishing is bundled. The pages list web hosting with unlimited pages and traffic and large storage capacity, and describe it as free and efficient. You can register a custom domain name or connect one you already own, and you can create a professional email address on your domain, such as contact@domain-name.com, the example the home page gives. On search, the company is frank that good ranking takes time and knowledge and that there is no magic formula. What it does promise is that custom URLs, meta descriptions and title tags are all editable, and that the site is "naturally optimized" from the start.

Users, plans and support

The strongest facts on the pages are the usage claims, and they are the company's own: 100,000+ active users, 2.0 million websites created and 19 years of expertise. The footer carries a copyright line running from 2007 to 2026. The company also says it has offered a secure solution for 10 years and that your site, like thousands of others, is secured by SiteW.

On price, the home page offers an "Unlimited free trial, no credit card required" and an "Unlimited free offer to test all features," and says you can subscribe to a paid package at any time for more features. It calls the platform "competitively priced." Plan prices sit on a separate Pricing page. The site names tiers such as Essential Showcase and Showcase Advanced, the latter being the first that includes the email marketing tool, and one user says the free version let them test the concept before moving to a paid package to boost visibility and get additional features. A Trustpilot reviews link also appears on the store page.

On support, the company says it is "an online and human-run service company" and offers multilingual customer service, with guides, tutorials and a FAQ for people who need help creating a site. One testimonial credits the team with answering quickly "from the start of creating the website", and another lists "Local company", "Quick to react" and "Intuitive" as strengths. The site is available in English, French and Spanish.

The company also runs partner programs for experts, affiliates and tech partners, which points to a network of freelancers who build sites on the platform. It also lists CSR commitments: a yearly carbon assessment with emissions offset "by 102% through a tree-planting program," sourcing from French or at least European suppliers, and hiring trainees and disabled persons.

Who it suits and who it does not

SiteW suits a small shop, a craftsperson, a local business or an association that wants a site and perhaps a store without hiring anyone. A 0% commission rate is the clearest selling point if you plan to sell online, since the platform does not take a cut of your revenue. The Waia assistant and the template steps suit people who start from a blank page and would like help with the text and images. The free start with no card makes it low risk to test.

It is a weaker fit for a developer who wants to work in code or an IT team building internal tools, because SiteW is a hosted website and store builder aimed at non-technical owners. The editor is block-based, so expect to work within its blocks and templates rather than a free canvas, and email campaigns only come with Showcase Advanced and above. For a small business or association that wants to get online in French, English or Spanish with human support, those limits matter less.
