What the product is
Automize is a business automation company in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, South Africa. On its own pages it calls itself "a business-automation company" and frames the product as a business process done as a service rather than a flow you maintain. The platform combines a no-code process designer, software bots for systems with no API, cloud flows, and AI that reads documents. It sells three things on one platform: Document Tools for converting single documents, Digital Workers for hiring finished finance and compliance roles, and Automate Anything for building your own automations. It is written for finance and operations teams doing back-office work, including work in desktop accounting packages that have no API.
What you build and how
The builder is a no-code canvas. The company's comparison table puts it as a visual canvas with 600+ actions, and the home page adds 320 connectors, software bots for the systems with no API, and "AI in every layer". Its tagline for the platform is that if a person does it on a computer, you can automate it. Its feature names for the full platform are builder, bots, cloud flows, queues, AI and governance.
There are three ways for a process to execute. Cloud flows are server-side flows that run on schedules and triggers, with no bot needed. Software bots are self-contained desktop apps that drive an application's own screens the way a person would, which the company says is the only way to reach a system with no API, such as desktop Sage Pastel, SYSPRO or a supplier portal. The comparison table lists attended and unattended bots on Windows, macOS and Linux, and says the recorder captures you doing the work, including keystrokes, clicks, scrolls and screenshots, after which you configure the steps and play them back. The third mode is human approval: any flow can suspend and wait for a named approver, and filings and payment runs always do.
The home page lays out how a first automation gets built over 7 days. On day 1 you upload your SOPs, and every process is scored and placed on a matrix. On day 2 a bot records the quick win from the SOP and you approve the sensitive steps. On days 3 to 6 you check it on the canvas, swap in connectors and test on real data. On day 7 it goes live, and from then on the saving is measured against the estimate. The page contrasts this with a traditional path of discovery workshops, a process-mapping consultant, an automation developer and an integrator, running to month 5 before testing. The company calls its offer the 7-Day Proof-of-Value: a fixed price, with one working automation in a week. After it runs, the platform counts what the automation actually saved against what the assessment predicted, from the run records, and says so when there is not enough data yet.
Document Tools convert bank statements, invoices, receipts and CVs into Excel, CSV or JSON, checked before you download. The comparison page says totals are re-added and balances walked before anything posts. Digital Workers are finished roles that do the whole job in your systems and ask before anything sensitive. The 7 roles are creditors, bank recon, tax, debtors, payroll, FICA and trust accounts. The FAQ says you can hire a Digital Worker and still build your own automations, because they sit on the same platform and builder.
On integrations, the connector catalog includes Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, Dynamics 365 and Teams, alongside accounting, payroll and government systems. The FAQ names SAP, Xero, Excel and custom business systems, reached through direct connectors, APIs or screen automation, in cloud or on-premise setups. It also says it has REST-based APIs for integrating with your systems. The navigation lists a Marketplace of ready-made automations you can install in a click, an AI page that describes the controls the AI runs under (your provider, your model, your key), an Architecture page for technical evaluators, a Security page and a live platform status page.
On the comparison page the company sets out where it does not tick a box. It says it does not offer process mining or task mining, and it marks autonomous AI agents as only partly covered, because "AI reads, drafts and diagnoses, and stops to ask a person rather than acting alone".
Plans, pricing, and claims
Pricing is published in Rand and varies by product. Document Tools are free for 25 pages a month, with plans from R199 a month. Digital Workers are priced per role per month, from R3 500. Automate Anything starts from R14 000 a month and includes 80 automation hours. The platform as a whole is priced per automation hour, with unlimited users and bots. Billing is in ZAR via PayFast.
The FAQ addresses cost directly. Scaling means paying for more automation hours, whether you run one bot more often or deploy several, and the company says there are no platform penalties or hidden expansion fees. It states there are no hidden costs, that maintenance, updates and platform improvements are included, and that a bot failure is handled as part of your regular usage plan rather than as an extra charge. Training is included with the Medium and Large pricing plans, and all paying clients get training resources, tutorials and a dedicated support team. The site also says it monitors bot performance continuously with automatic error tracking, and that its team is notified instantly if something fails.
For trials, you can convert a document free right now, or start a 7-Day Proof-of-Value on one of your real processes at a fixed price, with an ROI report at the end. The FAQ also offers a proof of concept for up to 100 users for up to 1 month, working against agreed Key Performance Indicators.
On compliance, the comparison table states the product is POPIA-compliant, with in-country hosting on request, an SA-based team and a person on the phone in your timezone. The pages name no other standards. Support is reachable at support@automize.co.za.
The company also publishes a feature-by-feature comparison against Microsoft Power Automate. It calls Power Automate "a capable workflow tool inside the Microsoft ecosystem" and says it is the better fit when your automations live inside Microsoft 365, when your IT team already runs the Power Platform, or when you want personal-productivity automation per user. In that table, the company's figures for Power Automate are 1,000+ connectors, Premium at US$15 per user per month and US$150 per bot per month at list, and it notes that Microsoft's column was checked in August 2026 and should be verified with the vendor.
Who it suits
Automize suits finance and operations teams in South Africa that live in desktop accounting packages, bank statements and payroll or VAT runs, and that want a named person to sign off on the sensitive steps. It also suits a business that would rather hire a finished creditors or payroll role by the month than staff an automation project. The company says it maps the job, builds it, runs it alongside your team and monitors it, which fits teams without an in-house automation developer.
It is a weaker fit if your work sits entirely inside Microsoft 365, which the company itself says. Pricing and billing are in Rand through PayFast, so the commercial model is built around South African customers. And if you want fully autonomous AI agents, process mining or task mining, the company says it does not offer them, and it designs its AI to stop and ask a person.
