What the product is

Automation Anywhere is an enterprise-grade agentic process automation platform combining AI agents, robotic process automation, and workflow orchestration. It's built for teams at large organizations, and the home page sorts its solutions into financial services, healthcare, IT and manufacturing operations. These organizations need to automate complex, multi-system processes at scale. The platform ships a suite of AI-powered tools including AI Agent Studio, a low-code workspace for custom AI agents, Automation Anywhere Code for turning business intent into planned and tested automations, and the Mozart Orchestrator for coordinating AI agents, deterministic automations, and people together.

What you build and how

AI Agent Studio is the core workspace for creating and managing custom AI agents. These are agentic AI agents designed to execute cognitive tasks within enterprise automation workflows. They are built to think, adapt, and deliver against business outcomes rather than just following step-by-step instructions. The site says the agents understand context, intent, and dependencies across workflows, and that they self-heal by learning with every run to improve accuracy, resiliency, and decision-making over time. Under the heading Enterprise-Trained Intelligence, the page states that PRE, the Process Reasoning Engine, is trained on 400M+ enterprise flows, enabling it to reason across complex systems and documents. Its examples of goals are resolving a customer issue or processing a claim.

Agents interact with multiple systems at once. They connect with APIs, databases, documents, and other agents. They extract data from complex unstructured documents through document automation, transform data across databases and APIs, and enhance responses with enterprise knowledge combined with large language models through retrieval-augmented generation. The platform supports custom LLM integration, so you can bring OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Google, Amazon, or proprietary models. Enterprise-safe guardrails, auditability, and compliance features control generative AI usage.

The platform's other builder tools handle deterministic automation. Automation Anywhere Code is a generative automation builder that turns business intent into planned, tested, and governed automations ready for production deployment. Automator AI is a set of AI-powered tools to auto-create workflows, adapt automations, and accelerate the automation lifecycle. The Context Intelligence Graph is a data and context layer that delivers enterprise context, policies, data, and execution history to AI agents and workflows so they make more accurate decisions.

The home page describes the Mozart Orchestrator as the piece that orchestrates AI agents, deterministic automations, and people together. Elsewhere the site says the platform connects AI models, apps, and automations, handles complex enterprise processes, and gives visibility on usage and effectiveness so that trust and governance stay at the forefront. A Trust and Governance block makes the same point from the control side.

The platform covers industry-specific automation. Financial Services automations streamline operations and turn complex, disconnected tasks into smart, secure, adaptive workflows. Healthcare automations streamline workflows, eliminate delays, and adapt to real-time patient needs. IT automation boosts employee self-service, reduces IT service desk workload, predicts major incidents with AIOps, and reduces costs. Manufacturing automations improve uptime and ensure compliance by orchestrating governed AI agents across operations.

The classic RPA side sits in the same catalog. UI Automation covers browser-based work with what the products page calls UI Agents, which "adapt to changing interfaces, handle exceptions, and work across systems where APIs are unavailable." Automation Workspace is described as a unified experience that brings together AI, RPA, APIs and process orchestration. Process Discovery shows where to optimize and what to automate, and Process Simulation is a testing environment that models end-to-end workflows so teams can simulate and optimize automations before deployment. For governance, CoE Manager is a dashboard for tracking and measuring an automation program, and Citizen Developers is a set of tools for business users to create and deploy automations with governance and guardrails. EnterpriseClaw is a governance and runtime layer for local AI agents working with systems and data behind the firewall.

The conversational side is Automation Co-Pilot, which the products page describes as "a conversational genAI-powered assistant directly accessible from within work applications" that connects people, data, AI agents and systems. That is how the platform's automations reach employees: a person asks for something inside the app they already work in, and the assistant hands the task to agents and bots behind it.

Pre-built solutions are available in the Agentic App Store, which the products page calls the world's largest marketplace for pre-built automation solutions to quickly customize and deploy for enterprise processes.

The products page says its Responsible AI approach emphasizes transparency, fairness, and accountability in AI practices while ensuring compliance with global standards. The platform is built on cloud-native architecture designed for public, private, and hybrid environments to remove process silos and securely build, deploy, and manage agentic processes.

Plans, pricing, and claims

A Community Edition is available free to students, developers, and innovators. It provides full access to cloud-native Intelligent Automation tools with no credit card required. The free tier includes access to the Automation Anywhere Pathfinder Community and free AI and automation learning resources, and you create the account by filling out a form. The page lists drag-and-drop building, natural-language building through Prompt-to-Automate, document data extraction with generative AI, and availability on Windows and Mac. Small businesses can use the Community Edition on up to 5 machines within the organization, and small businesses may process or upload up to 100 pages per month with Document Automation. The page defines a small business as an organization with fewer than 250 machines, fewer than 250 users, or less than $5 million US in annual revenue, and says an organization that exceeds any one of the 3 is not a small business.

The company blog says Automation Anywhere was named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for RPA, for the eighth year in a row, and offers the report as a download.

The home page lists compliance and security credentials including ISO 27001, ISO 9001, ISO 42001, ISO 22301, HIPAA compliance, HITRUST certification, SOC 1, and SOC 2. The home page lists them under its Responsible AI heading, next to a link to the Trust Center. Several name regulated-industry standards, such as HIPAA and HITRUST, which matters if you plan to run healthcare workloads.

The resources page lists the A-People Customer Support Portal, the Pathfinder Community for users to learn from one another, A+ Customer Success with a dedicated team for hands-on guidance, and a training program on the resources page for learning the platform and getting certified. The resources page also lists product documentation on installing, using, and managing the products, and a Developer A-Listers program for top contributors.

Partners are listed under Technology, Business, and Training, with a page on becoming a partner. The company runs events for users to grow their skills, connect with peers, and engage with industry leaders.

The home page highlights an 84% auto-resolution rate with agentic AI for ITSM, as a headline for its IT solution.

Who it suits

Automation Anywhere is built for enterprises with complex, multi-system processes and the budget and team structure to support them. It suits large IT departments automating service desk work and incident prediction, financial services teams streamlining disconnected tasks, healthcare organizations adapting workflows to real-time patient needs, and manufacturing operations that want uptime and compliance.

The commercial platform is pitched at enterprises rather than solo founders. The free Community Edition lets students, developers, and small businesses build on the same cloud platform, within the limits above.

A limitation is cost visibility: the commercial platform is sold through a personalized demo and the sales team rather than a public price list. Another is scope. The suite covers agents, orchestration, a context layer and an app store, which is more than you need if you are automating a single workflow or one scraping task. The free Community Edition is also capped by the conditions above.
