What UK2 is
UK2.net is a domain, hosting and email company that also sells a website builder and an ecommerce site builder. The ecommerce page is titled "Online Shop Builder | eCommerce Website Builder", and the company says it is "Trusted by UK Businesses Since 1998". It is written for small businesses and first-time online sellers who want a shop without writing code: "Our Website Builder is user-friendly for people with no technical knowledge so you're able to do so yourself in a matter of minutes." The homepage claims "330000 + UK businesses are growing their online presence with UK2 solutions", plus 250000+ live web domains, 30000+ email domains and 35000+ websites hosted. Because the builder sits next to domain registration, web hosting, WordPress hosting, VPS and dedicated servers in the same navigation, it is the shop option for someone who would rather buy everything from one provider. The company lists a UK phone number and offers support by phone, live chat and email.
What you build and how
Starting from a description. One route is AI. A page headline reads "Start Selling Online with AI in Minutes": "Just enter your business name and a short description - our AI creates a ready-to-edit store in seconds." The AI Website Builder is included in every shop plan, and a section titled "SEE IT IN ACTION" shows the AI turning a business description into a store.
Starting from a template. The FAQ answers "Do I have to design a site from scratch?" with "Not at all. We offer over 140 stylish and responsive templates for free". Templates are edited with a drag-and-drop interface, and you replace stock images with your own photos. You can "add pages, design elements and content anywhere you wish, without having to enter a single line of program code". Every template is described as mobile optimized, so the design changes between a monitor, tablet and phone.
Setting up the shop. The page gives a 5 step recipe: add a payment method, add basic info such as currency and returns policy, add products, add shipping costs, and open your business. The company says it guarantees the process is simple and adds free live chat and tutorials.
Products. Products can be added one at a time or batch-uploaded from a spreadsheet. You give each a name, upload images, set a price and publish. Variants such as color or size are available from the 50 product plan upward, as are product tags for search. The top plan adds different tax rates and a batch import of products via CSV. An image editor lets you crop large phone photos so pages load faster, with the company noting this helps the site's SEO score.
Payments and selling abroad. Every plan accepts credit and debit cards and PayPal. The FAQ names PayPal and Stripe as payment gateways, says sites can accept payments in "almost 30 different currencies", and describes shipping and tax rates adjusted per country. Delivery rates can be set differently from the 50 product plan upward.
From a phone. A section flagged NEW describes running the shop from a mobile device, tracking inventory and getting live reporting. Mobile onboarding is listed in every plan.
Domains and hosting. The FAQ says "Yes you will" need a domain, that one is "included with each UK2 eCommerce package", and that you can pick an available name with endings like .com.co.uk or .shop or import one you already own into UK2's control panel. The homepage adds that its plans include free domains on 1-year-plus terms, unmetered bandwidth and 10GB of email storage, backed by a 99.99% Service Level Agreement. That statement is made about the company's hosting plans in general, so confirm what an ecommerce term includes before you rely on it. The same navigation also lists a standard Website Builder, which is the second category this listing sits in, and the homepage advertises it "from £3/month or save 25% yearly for a limited time".
What the pages say about plans and proof
3 shop plans are listed with a choice of 1 month or 1 year terms. The prices quoted for a 1 month term exclude VAT, and the page shows a renewal price that is higher than the first price:
- Online Shop 10: £4.00 a month for a 1 month term, renews at £8.95, "Save 55%". 10 ecommerce products, card and PayPal payments, AI Website Builder, mobile onboarding. Described as "Perfect for beginner sites and spreading your eCommerce wings".
- Online Shop 50: £6.00 a month, renews at £13.95, "Save 57%". 50 ecommerce products, variations like size or color, product tags, different delivery rates, plus the Online Shop 10 features.
- Online Shop Unlimited: £10.00 a month, renews at £19.95, "Save 50%". Unlimited products, variations, tags, delivery rates, different tax rates and batch import via CSV, plus the rest.
The page does not show a 1 year price in the passages quoted here, so check the checkout for it. A buyer budgeting for a year should plan around the renewal figures, because that is what the page says the plan renews at.
Support is stated 3 ways: "24/7 via phone, live chat or email" on the homepage, free live chat and tutorials in the shop setup steps, and "instant access to 24-hour technical support for any queries around our products and services, integration with other tools, migration and more". A knowledgebase is available. Trust signals include the Trustpilot widgets and the 1998 date.
The passages quoted here do not state compliance certifications, an API, code export or a customer list.
Who it suits and who it does not
UK2 suits a small business that wants a shop quickly, is happy with a template and an AI first draft, and prefers a single supplier for domain, hosting, email and store. The entry price of £4 a month for 10 products is low, and a seller with 10 or 50 products can start there and move to Unlimited when the catalog grows. The VAT-exclusive pricing and the .co.uk and UK focus suggest UK sellers will find it most natural, although the FAQ says sites can sell anywhere with per-country shipping and tax.
It is a thinner fit for a business that needs deep automation, a marketplace, subscriptions or custom code, none of which these passages describe. The 10 and 50 product plans are small, and variants and delivery rates only begin at the 50 product plan. The low introductory prices rise on renewal, and the page's own "Terms and conditions apply" note means you should read the checkout terms.
