What Snappii is
Snappii is a codeless app builder for business mobile apps and mobile forms. You build in a web-based visual editor, and the platform generates native iOS and Android apps from what you design. It is aimed at operations and field teams that want to replace paper processes with forms and apps, and at small businesses that want a company app without hiring a mobile developer. The company's site says the platform is "proven with over 110k Apps in over 10 years" and that Snappii apps have over half a million users.
What you build and how
The editor runs in the browser. The company says there is nothing to download: you open the Snappii website and start an app, using drag and drop to place and configure functionality, and you can customize screens and tabs with your own design and feature elements. The site describes the editor as a "visual WYSIWYG editor" (What You See Is What You Get). While you build, you can test the app on the Snappii preview app on a phone and watch changes show up at once.
Snappii's central claim is a build-once model. You design the app on a platform-neutral canvas, check off the platforms you want, and Snappii generates native iOS and Android apps. The pricing page answers the obvious question directly: the apps are not hybrid or web apps but "100% native Apps built using Objective-C and Java respectively using Apple and Google SDKs." They run on iOS 10 or later and Android KitKat 4.4 or later. The company also says business managers can go from app concept to deployment in 4 weeks or less.
Behind the editor sits what the company calls a distributed mobile app platform. Its run-time architecture is described as built for scalability, performance and code re-use, and as able to support enterprise apps that pull data from back-end and cloud-based servers. Cloud storage is included in the private app plans.
Mobile forms are the second half of the product, and the reason it belongs on the forms shelf as well as the mobile apps one. The forms page says to "convert outdated and inefficient paper-based processes to mobile forms and apps," with forms you can open 24/7 and fill in anywhere. There are 3 ways to make one in the Snappii Mobile Forms Editor. You can start from a template, build from scratch, or upload an existing form and either edit it yourself or use Snappii's OFR. Each has a tutorial video. You do not need development skills, only a computer and a mobile device. If you would rather not do the conversion, you can send your forms to Snappii and get a quote for custom mobile forms. The company says doing the conversion yourself is free.
The forms page leans on field work. Workers collect data on the job and send it to clients in real time, and field service forms cut the time spent on job estimates. A client can approve a job with a signature instead of someone driving to the office, and daily logs and job progress reports are named as common uses. Snappii also offers a free Snappii Form App for iOS, advertised as "Scan, Sign, Share," and a separate preview app for looking at your apps on a phone.
Ready-made apps are a third route. The pricing page lists a ReadyApp library, called the Snappii App Store, from which you can copy an app into your account and then customize it yourself. The site promises same-day deployment for ready-made apps and says Snappii can modify an app to fit your business, with an optional customization fee. A custom app development service and a request-a-custom-app page cover the case where you want Snappii's team to build it.
Apps come in 2 kinds. A public app is released to the Apple and Android app stores and needs your own Apple and Google developer licenses. A private app is for internal use by a group of email addresses and is not published to the stores. The company states it does not guarantee Apple or Android will accept a published app.
Evidence from the product pages
Pricing is the clearest part of the site. Under a heading for private apps, the pricing page lists 2 models.
Pay Per Use is labeled "most affordable." It includes 2 free form or report submissions per month and charges $0.99 per additional submission, plus an optional customization fee. The plan lists iOS and Android apps, email support only, and cloud storage.
Pay Per User is labeled "most popular." The page lays out 1, 5, 10 or more users against billing periods of 1 month, 1 year and 3 years. Submissions are unlimited, again with an optional customization fee. The monthly price shown is $21. Paying for 1 year shows 20% savings, $252 down to $201.60. Paying for 3 years shows 50% savings, $756 down to $378. A "Try It FREE" button sits beside each period. The forms page says pricing starts at $20/mo for one user, with bulk discounts starting at 5 users, so the two pages differ by a dollar. For volume pricing the page tells you to contact sales.
On billing, the FAQ says you pay monthly by PayPal or credit card on automatic recurring payments, or annually to save 20%. You can cancel at any time, with no partial-month refunds. The customization notes cover changes to pages, labels, lists and content updates, and state that unused hours do not roll over.
On support, the site offers "live human support" and lists a sales email and an 888 phone number. The Pay Per Use plan is the one marked email support only. Free learning resources are a user manual, video tutorials, a forum and webinars, and the resources page recommends a free class before you start. The footer also links press releases, testimonials, case studies and a security page.
One testimonial on the forms page comes from Curtis Hrdlicka of GLV Travellers: "I can get a new form up and running in no time, and it will save us hundreds of man hours when it comes time to audit our safety program."
Who it suits and who it does not
Snappii fits a field service business, a construction or inspection crew, or any ops team whose real job is getting a signed, timestamped form off a clipboard and into a system. The per-user price is predictable, the forms editor offers a template route for people who have never built anything, and you can pay Snappii to do the conversion. A solo founder with a single transactional app can also use it, but the product's weight is on forms and business apps.
Several things are not stated on the pages. The product pages describe no code export and no self-hosting option, no list of third-party integrations, and no compliance certifications, so a team that needs any of those should ask sales before committing. Publishing a public app means paying for Apple and Google developer licenses on top of the Snappii plan, and the Pay Per Use plan carries email support only.
