What Nowa is
Nowa is an AI app builder for mobile apps. You start from a prompt and Nowa produces a Flutter project that you can refine in a visual editor, publish to the app stores and the web, and download as ordinary source code. Its about page names the audience as "a solo founder, a product-minded developer, a freelancer, or part of a team" who wants production-grade apps without much technical overhead, and describes the product as "a platform that combines visual building, AI assistance, and code when you need it." The company's pages say every Nowa app runs on Flutter, which they describe as "Google's framework behind apps like Google Pay, BMW, and Toyota", so what you ship is "a real native app, not a website in a wrapper".
What you build and how
The home page closes on "Success starts with a prompt. Start for free, upgrade when needed." You describe the app, and the AI designs screens, builds logic, connects data and fixes bugs inside a Flutter project. Nowa's pitch is that its AI "sees your whole project at once", so the prompts you do run "land right more often" and the code "stays clean as it grows". The home page FAQ says you can build "social apps, marketplaces, productivity tools, fitness trackers" and other kinds of app.
Fixes do not have to go through the AI. The site says "Visual and hand edits consume zero AI credits": you select the thing that is wrong, change it in the visual editor and move on. The pricing FAQ says the editor lets you fine-tune "layout, colors, logic, data" without writing code. Credits are spent only when you ask the AI to do the work, and the pricing page gives a sense of scale: building one screen with a modern design and full functionality costs around 0.3 credits.
Nowa runs in the browser or as Nowa Desktop for macOS and Windows. The desktop installer sets up the Flutter SDK and an Android emulator, adds hot reload on simulators and physical phones, and makes local projects available, which are stored on your own computer rather than the cloud. On a local project you can keep Nowa and an IDE such as VS Code open side by side, and changes in one appear in the other. Custom code and any Flutter package can be added, and all plans include templates.
The data layer is external. Nowa connects to backends and services you already use, and the company says you connect them once and "they're managed by the platform, so they don't quietly break". The integrations named on its pages are:
- Supabase for database and auth
- Firebase as a backend and data store
- Airtable to sync submissions and data
- Xano to send and fetch data
- Google Sheet to read and write data directly to a sheet
- RevenueCat for subscriptions and in-app purchases
- OpenAI and Gemini to add AI models to your app's logic
- Any REST API through a custom API connection, with one-click import of Postman collections and Swagger specs
Publishing covers 3 targets. For Android, Nowa builds an AAB for Google Play or an APK you can install on any device or ship to third-party stores, and you can use your own signing keys or let Nowa create them. For iPhone, it sends the app straight to TestFlight under your own Apple developer account. The pages stress that iOS builds run on Nowa's servers, so you do not need a Mac. For the web, publishing is one click and the app is hosted for you at a link like yourapp.nowa.dev. You can connect a custom domain instead, or download the web build files and host them anywhere. Every plan can share a free 12-hour test link to show progress.
Code ownership is the feature the site leans on most. The finish-your-app page says "Every Nowa project is a normal Flutter project", and that you can "download the complete source anytime, on any plan, and open it in VS Code or Android Studio." You can take the code out, change it and bring it back into Nowa. The company says there is "No lock-in, no revenue cut". For an agency or freelancer, that means a client can leave with a working Flutter project. Teamwork runs through GitHub: you connect the project to a repository, add teammates there, and each person clones it into Nowa and works on branches.
This is also how Nowa sits in the AI builders group. The editor is prompt-first, but what comes out is a conventional codebase rather than something that only runs on the vendor's runtime.
Plans and limits
The pricing page lists 4 plans:
- Starter is free, for "building simple apps visually with basic AI support." It includes 1.2 AI credits a day, unlimited projects, local and cloud projects, unlimited API endpoints, Supabase and Firebase integration, all templates, web and desktop access, 12-hour web test publishing and community support.
- Launch is $24 a month billed annually, with 12 credits a day, unlimited code downloads, credit top-ups, one-click deploy to Android and iOS, one-click web builds, web hosting with a custom domain and email support.
- Scale is $49 a month billed yearly or $59 billed monthly, which the page says saves $120 a year. It gives 30 credits a day, 2.5 times Launch, plus GitHub integration, premium support and the lowest cost per AI credit. For complex cases, the FAQ says premium support includes a 1-on-1 video call.
- Enterprise is custom, for "teams building mission-critical apps", with an agreed credit allowance, SSO, an on-premise option, audit logging, centralized billing and dedicated support channels.
Pages differ on the free plan. The finish-your-app page says the free Starter plan "gives you 5 AI credits a day, unlimited projects, and unlimited code downloads", while the pricing page lists 1.2 credits a day for Starter and marks full source-code download as a Launch and Scale feature. The home page puts it as "paid plans from $24/month, billed yearly".
Credits refill automatically the next day. If you hit the daily limit, you can upgrade, or on Launch and Scale top up with extra credits at $1 per credit. Extra credits never expire, and Nowa spends your daily plan credits first. You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time; a canceled account keeps paid features until the end of the cycle, then drops to Starter, and the FAQ adds that unused time is not refunded. Apps already in the stores keep running. Payment methods listed include cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna and Amazon Pay. Store fees are separate: Apple's $99 a year and Google's one-time $25 go to them.
The company ran a free weekend in June 2026. Its blog says Nowa was free for everyone for 48 hours, with 50 free credits for every app and $500 in AI credits for the top 3 entries; the winners named are Aevo Bento, HomeBrain and Flujo. The showcase page lists apps built with Nowa, including Método QRV, a police exam preparation app, Pathfinding Visualizer, MovieApp, WealthTracker, Anchorly and Shopler, an e-commerce app. The company points users to documentation, tutorials, a Discord server and a Reddit community.
Who it suits and who it does not
Nowa suits a solo founder or freelancer who wants a real iOS, Android and web app from one Flutter codebase without owning a Mac, and who wants to leave with the source code. It also suits a developer who is happy to prompt first and then open the project in VS Code or Android Studio. A small team can work through GitHub on Scale, and a larger company can look at Enterprise for SSO and an on-premise option.
It is a narrower fit if you do not want Flutter. Everything is built on that one framework, so a team committed to another stack gets an export it may not use. The AI credit meter also shapes how you work: heavy prompting means moving to Launch or Scale. Backends are connected rather than built in, so you bring your own Supabase, Firebase or similar, and you need your own Apple developer account to reach TestFlight and the App Store.
