What Blup is
Blup is a visual builder for Flutter apps. The company's home page calls it "a better way to create flutter apps" and an IDE for Flutter app development. It is aimed at developers and designers, and at application development companies that build apps for clients; the footer lists agencies, startups and freelancers as its use cases. The pitch is to go "from an idea to app launch within weeks", building "beautiful apps with powerful logics" and a "scalable backend, all within a single codebase".
The home page says "Join 240,000+ Bluppers today", which is the company's own count of its users, and describes the product as "Trusted by developers across the globe." The company behind it is Blupx Private Limited, and the site footer gives its headquarters in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India, with a second address in Berkeley, California.
What you build and how
Blup describes its workflow as a "power trio": "Beautiful Design, Enhanced Logic & Powerful Backend". The blog post on the company's site names 3 matching tools: Blup Designer, Blup Lightning and Blup Backend. Together they are the product.
Design. The editor is an "Intuitive Drag & Drop builder": "Simply drag elements and effortlessly place them to design your app interface." The company says "What you create, automatically gets converted to flutter code", and that you can "import Figma designs files as well", so there is no need to hand designs off to developers. The blog says Blup Designer works with Flutter-specific widgets and components: you lay out screens visually, set colors, fonts and styles in Flutter's design language, build custom animations and interactions, and see changes previewed in real time. The Blup Academy videos show the working tools: a layers panel and toolbars, a Group option that combines elements into one unit, a List View option, a Smart Layout feature and pre-built widgets, demonstrated by rebuilding an Uber-style login page and ride selection screen.
Logic. The blog describes Blup Lightning as a code generation tool for Flutter that automates common Flutter functionality and patterns and generates "clean and optimized Flutter code", with customizable templates and Flutter-specific code snippets. It adds state management through Flutter's state management libraries, advanced debugging tools and Git integration for collaborative development. The Academy has a video titled "Blup Logic: Build apps with visual logic!" that presents it as drag-and-drop visual programming, a Lightning tutorial on working with APIs using GET, POST and PUT requests, and a tutorial on building a user registration page with email and password.
Backend. Per the company's blog, Blup Backend is "designed to simplify backend development for your Flutter apps". It runs on Firebase, Google's mobile and web app development platform, with a serverless architecture. The blog lists what it handles: user authentication and authorization through Firebase Authentication, cloud database integration with Firestore, communication with external APIs, and real-time data synchronization through the Firebase Realtime Database, connected through FlutterFire, the official Flutter plugin for Firebase. For a founder, that means the app can have accounts and server-side data without a separate backend project, and the blog says the tool "eliminates the need for building and maintaining a complex server infrastructure".
Preview. The blog describes a built-in simulator for testing and previewing: you can "instantly visualize how your app will look and behave on different devices and screen sizes", which the company says removes the need for manual device testing.
Publishing. The home page states: "With Flutter's single codebase, publish apps on App Store and Play Store with a single click." It adds that you can finally launch "within minutes". The blog also says cross-platform support lets you "develop apps that run on multiple platforms with a single codebase", which saves the cost of separate iOS and Android development.
Code. This is where Blup differs from a closed builder. The home page says: "Think of Blup as a layer on top of your favourite IDE, where 99% of things can be done visually. Plus you can write and export your code anytime." A developer who wants an escape hatch gets a stated one, and the output is Flutter code rather than a proprietary format.
Collaboration. "Team collaboration in Blup helps team managers to easily distribute work and add access control to the app. Share your live work with clients and get feedbacks easily." For an agency, live sharing means a client can review work in progress rather than waiting for a build.
What people have built with it
The "Made in Blup" section shows apps built in the product: Orbin, TruckerLink, Vayu Lex, KodeBlue, Rootsapp, Venja Health, Upstage and Dream Tracker. Orbin is an app for finding women cab drivers. TruckerLink is described as "a specialized mobile app for truckers, offering tailored navigation, real-time communication, and a sense of community", with an admin web app that "supports efficient management of the platform".
The company also runs Blup Services, which builds apps for clients. The blog gives 2 case studies. KodeBlue is a mobile app and web portal for emergency healthcare where paramedics enter patient vitals on the spot and share them instantly with hospital staff, with live location tracking and document sharing. RootsApp is a school communication platform with a Noticeboard for notes, assignments and notices, and a Messenger for teachers and students. The home page banner also announces that the company "launched 1D2C, a white-labeled, mobile-first e-commerce platform for your business", and that "Update 1.54 is live".
Testimonials on the home page come from an entrepreneur, a designer and developers. One says the tool "has helped my development team to move faster"; a software developer who knows Dart writes that Blup solved his lack of time to learn the Flutter framework; a backend developer says it helps with his Flutter design problems. These are the company's own selected quotes.
Cost, learning and support
The home page and blog quote no prices or plan limits; the footer links a separate Pricing page. The blog makes the cost argument in general terms: custom development "is notorious for its time-consuming nature and high costs", and Blup is "a cost-effective alternative" because the drag-and-drop interface and code generation save development hours and the backend tool removes server maintenance.
Learning runs through Blup Academy, a video playlist that promises to take you from "zero to hero", with tutorials from under 2 minutes to over 36 minutes long, plus documentation, videos and a blog on Flutter topics such as platform-specific code, desktop apps and testing each layer of an app's architecture. The site invites users to join the Blup community and lists a support address and phone numbers.
Who it suits and who it does not
Blup suits Flutter developers and designers who want a faster path through interface work and standard backend tasks while keeping the Flutter project. The company says developers and designers can "do more with less hassle", and that application development companies can "handle more projects while maintaining the same team size". Agencies and freelancers building client apps fit well given the live sharing and access control, and a team that already designs in Figma can import those files rather than redraw them.
The caveat is that Blup is organized around Flutter and Firebase. The product speaks the vocabulary of widgets, state management, Git and APIs, and the company describes itself as a layer on top of an IDE, so someone who wants a builder with no technical concepts at all will find it more developer-shaped than a template app maker.
