What it is
MemberMouse is a membership plugin for WordPress. It is for entrepreneurs, course creators, coaches, agencies and service businesses that already run a WordPress site and want to sell access to content, courses or a private client area, with subscription billing handled by the plugin. The homepage names the use cases as health and fitness, client portals, and music training and community. It is also pitched to web designers and developers who build membership sites for clients. The homepage calls it "The Enterprise Level Membership Plugin for WordPress", says the company was founded in 2009, and reports 18K+ customers served, 12M+ members supported and 23M+ orders processed. The footer names the company as MemberMouse, LLC, and the site is offered in English, Spanish, German, French and Portuguese.
What you build and how
You build inside WordPress, using the same editor you already use. One customer review quoted on the homepage puts the appeal this way: "MM works with my Wordpress site, and not on top of it", which means you keep control of your content and design.
Membership levels and access. You define membership levels and bundles, then decide who can see which pages, posts, courses and lessons. A health and fitness customer on the homepage says it lets them manage various membership levels, products, and access to courses and coaching programs. Another reviewer, a founder at a travel business, says they can set up a new product in a matter of minutes, give the customer access to the right content and follow up with automated emails.
Drip content. MemberMouse's blog explains drip content as releasing lessons, modules or exclusive content in stages over time instead of all at once, to keep learners engaged and prevent overwhelm. In practice you open a post, page, course or lesson in the WordPress editor, find the MemberMouse Options in the Post Settings sidebar, click the green Grant Access button and choose the membership level or bundle. The blog notes this needs an active MemberMouse subscription. It suggests building release schedules around your best-performing content and member goals, and gives examples such as a marketing membership releasing ad-campaign templates, then ROI strategies, then a private Q&A with an expert.
Courses. The homepage promotes Courses for MemberMouse as a "Built-in LMS to create, sell and moderate courses", and its Protect Content block lists building and protecting courses, drip and scheduled content and showing gated content. Elena Mutonono, a coach for language teachers, says on the homepage that she switched to MemberMouse 2 years into her membership and values being able to adjust the checkout page.
Selling and billing. The homepage says you can sell any kind of product or subscription with flexible payment options and billing profiles, and lists memberships, products and subscriptions, custom checkout and upsells, one-click purchases and coupon codes. A reviewer, Will Owen of Travel Strong, says letting customers pay through PayPal is a plus. Judd Frazier, founder of Banjo Mountain, says the plugin handles billing, payments and subscription product creation, and that as a non-coder he could not have built his site without it.
Client portals. The German client portal page (the plugin's site is also available in German) says MemberMouse can create a secure login area accessible only to your customers, and that this area can be customized for each customer. You control who sees what on your protected pages. Customers can update their card details, view their billing history and manage their own accounts, which the page says means fewer emails to you. It also lists customizable PDF receipts sent automatically when a payment arrives, full control over design so the portal matches your brand, and Zapier for connecting other tools. One quoted user is the founder of RiskRevu, which uses MemberMouse for insurance agencies and their agents to manage and automate their client experiences. Another, the founder of Coffee & Contracts, says MemberMouse handles the heavy lifting for a client portal.
Member management and reporting. The homepage describes a simple CRM for free and paid members, with a member management dashboard, support automation tools and a member activity log. A Web Tribunal review quoted there says the menu gives insight into customer names, emails, phone numbers, membership level, engagement and statuses. Reporting covers sales, lifetime customer value by source, retention and churn rates, product and membership sales, and affiliate channel tracking.
Community and coaching. The homepage has a section for community and coaching businesses, where Seth Rosen, owner of the Int'l Gem Society, says the business runs thousands of individual transactions every month on MemberMouse. The drip content guide suggests pairing releases with forum discussions, live Q&A sessions and email updates to keep members engaged between drops.
Developers and integrations. The homepage offers built-in integrations and says you can build your own with developer tools. It has links to view all integrations and developer tools. The homepage also announces MemberMouse v3.0 as one of its biggest updates and says MemberMouse is now GPL. For buyers who would rather not build it themselves, a "Done For You" service covers MemberMouse setup, hosting and a custom theme.
Learning the product. A customer says every page in the backend has clear, concise video tutorials, which made setup easy. The company counts 765+ support docs and videos.
What the pages state about plans and cost
The pages publish no prices. A purchase happens through the site, and the drip content article says you need an active MemberMouse subscription for the Grant Access button, with a prompt to purchase a plan. The homepage advertises a 14 Day Money Back Guarantee.
For support, the homepage says a dedicated staff is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM PST. Its 2026 support stats read 5,400+ questions answered, 98% customer satisfaction, 1.25 hours average response time and 765+ support docs and videos. The German page shows different support figures (7,100+ resolved tickets, 94% satisfaction and a 1.5 hour average response), so treat these as company-reported numbers that vary by page and date.
The homepage also carries reviews. Brittany Menard, a web designer and developer, calls it "enterprise-level software, very scalable, that's also suitable for someone just starting out", and says that with other plugins you have to buy lots of extensions while MemberMouse has the features in place and is well documented. A review from Danish Naseer of Cloudways says it was designed for entrepreneurs, by entrepreneurs, and built by enterprise software engineers, and that it powers businesses of all sizes. George Papazov of TRADEPRO Academy says his membership has grown over 500% in 2 years. These are testimonials and a review the company chose to display, not independent measurements.
The homepage says MemberMouse has led membership and subscription solutions on WordPress for over 15 years; that is the company's own claim.
Who it suits and who it does not
MemberMouse suits a WordPress owner who wants to sell memberships, courses or a client area without leaving WordPress and without changing the theme. A coach with several programs, a fitness business with membership levels, a teacher selling lessons and an agency delivering membership sites for clients all fit the pattern the pages describe. The portal features suit a service business that wants clients to see their own billing history and update cards themselves. A founder who isn't a developer will like the video tutorials and the support hours.
Several limits follow from what the pages say. It only runs on WordPress, so you need a WordPress site and the hosting that goes with it. The company publishes no pricing, so you can't compare cost before you decide, and the 14-day guarantee is the main safety net. Support runs on weekday business hours Pacific time, which is a gap for teams in other time zones. It isn't a hosted builder, so you handle your own updates, backups and performance.
