What the product is
Rocketadmin is an admin panel builder. You connect a database and get an interface for viewing and editing its records, without writing the interface yourself. The company's line is "Build admin panel in minutes. Connect your database and get instant CRUD operations with AI assistance." It is written for support teams, operations teams, developers and business owners who need to work with live data without waiting on an engineer.
One change matters before you read further. The hosted product is being renamed: the site's banner says "Rocketadmin Cloud is now SiteNova," and a notice on the home page explains that the Cloud account is a SiteNova account with the same data, features and credentials. The open source project stays Rocketadmin, and the notice adds that SiteNova is the same legal entity that has always been behind Rocketadmin, so contracts, billing and data-processing agreements stay where they are.
What you build and how
The data layer. Rocketadmin does not hold your data; it reads and writes yours. The pricing page says "We don't store your data - queries run directly on your database," that connections are encrypted with TLS, and that SSH tunnels are supported. The features page lists a master password, an SSH tunnel and a Rocketadmin Agent among the security options for connecting. It lists these databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, IBM DB2, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Redis and ClickHouse. That makes it a fit for teams with mixed database types.
The interface. The features page describes data management as CRUD, forms and table views. You connect, and the screens exist. The use-cases page promises a working panel "in under 5 minutes." Beyond the generated screens, the product has dashboards for charts and data visualization, and customization through widgets and white-label branding.
AI. An AI assistant answers natural language questions about your data. The business-owner use case reads "Ask questions, get insights instantly. AI-powered queries without technical knowledge." For a team without a SQL writer, that is a main part of the pitch.
Permissions. This is where an admin panel earns trust. Rocketadmin offers user groups, role management, table-level access and field-level control, so one group can see a customer table while another sees only some columns. The features page also lists team invitations, company administration and shared connections.
Audit trail. A dedicated audit-log page says every meaningful action is recorded: record changes with old and new values and who made them, sign-in activity with timestamps and IP addresses, permission changes, and record creation and deletion. You can filter by date range, user and table, view before and after diffs, and export logs as CSV for compliance audits.
Integrations and API. The features page lists a Zapier integration, described as connecting with "thousands of apps," a REST API, API key management and webhooks. So the automation story is outbound: events and records flow to other tools. The use-cases page says operations teams get "real-time data, bulk actions, automation." The free plan already includes custom actions and webhooks, so a button in the panel can call out to your own code.
Hosting and domains. There are 2 deployment options. Cloud hosted means instant setup, automatic updates, managed security and a custom domain through a CNAME record. Self-hosted means full data control on your own infrastructure, a private network, Docker and Kubernetes support, a custom domain set with an APP_DOMAIN_ADDRESS variable, and a "View on GitHub" link. SSL certificates are auto-provisioned. The home page notice says nothing changes for self-hosted users of the open source edition: the same repository, the same license and the same community.
Where it is heading. The home page describes SiteNova as "a platform for building and running complete websites together with the data and admin layer behind them," with the Rocketadmin admin-panel engine inside it. Existing Cloud users move gradually, "only once it matches every Rocketadmin feature," and there is no forced migration. The app lives at app.sitenova.com. The site's language menu offers English, German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese (繁體中文) and Arabic.
Plans, pricing and security
The pricing page opens with "Free for up to 3 users, forever. Paid plans start at $2/user/month with a 30-day trial" and shows 3 tiers:
- Free. $0 forever, "For individuals and small teams up to 3 users." It includes up to 3 connections per database, full CRUD operations, custom actions and webhooks, export and import, search and saved filters, 16+ field widgets, a dashboard builder with charts, SSH tunnels and SSL connections, custom field configuration, client-side encryption and branding. Custom domains, audit logs and priority support are not included.
- Team. $20 per 10 users per month. It adds unlimited MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB and DB2 connections, a custom domain, audit logs, role-based access control, Zapier, API access, white-label options and priority support.
- Enterprise. $50 per 10 users per month. It adds unlimited connections for all databases, SAML SSO and a 99.9% uptime SLA. The pricing FAQ says self-hosted deployment is available on this plan, with a contact form for details.
All paid plans carry a 30-day free trial with no credit card required. Plans can be changed at any time, and changes apply immediately. The company accepts Visa, MasterCard and American Express, and can arrange invoicing for Enterprise customers.
The footer links a Security page and a GDPR page. The concrete security features the site describes are the audit log, role and field-level controls, client-side encryption, TLS-encrypted connections and the no-data-storage design. Every page closes with the same offer: "No credit card required · Free plan forever."
The use-cases page sorts the product by role. Support teams "resolve tickets faster with instant access to customer data." Developers "build admin panels in minutes, not sprints" and focus on features rather than internal tools. Operations teams "manage operations without waiting on IT." Business owners ask questions of the data in plain language. The page then gives 4 reasons it works for every team: minutes to deploy, enterprise security (role-based access, audit logs and encryption), AI-powered queries and support for any database. The About page states the mission as "Simplify the back office," and the footer points to documentation, a blog, a changelog and a status page.
Who it suits and who it does not
Rocketadmin suits a startup or engineering team that already has a database and wants support and operations staff to work in it safely, with roles, logs and an AI query box. It suits a company that wants to keep the panel on its own servers, since a self-hosted route exists. The permission depth, down to fields, helps where support agents should see only part of a record.
It is a data-admin tool, not a general app builder. Its building blocks are tables, forms, dashboards, custom actions and a REST API rather than a canvas for designing whole applications. A team with no database, whose data lives in spreadsheets, will need to move it first. And because the hosted product is becoming SiteNova, new cloud users will find their account at app.sitenova.com, while the self-hosted open source edition keeps the Rocketadmin name.
