What Assemblr is

Assemblr is a 3D and augmented reality builder for people who have never modeled anything in 3D. The home page promises that you can create interactive experiences to teach, train and imagine "no code, no skills required." The company comes from Bandung, Indonesia, and describes its team as young and fun. It splits the offer into 4 doors, each aimed at a different reader. Assemblr Studio is the simple 3D/AR builder for creators and designers of all ages. Assemblr EDU is 3D/AR for educators and students. Enterprise is 3D/AR for brands, with customized solutions. LessonCrafts is an AI tool for teachers who want effortless lesson creation. This entry is mainly about Assemblr Studio, with the other 3 as context.

What you build and how

The Studio editor is drag and drop. You pick from a library of ready-made 3D objects or upload your own, then drag, drop and publish. The home page says the library holds 6,000+ 3D assets that you can pick, place and customize, so nobody has to start from scratch. Beyond arranging models you can animate objects and add buttons, which is what turns a static scene into something a viewer can interact with. The page's tagline is "Design, view, and share your unique AR creations, all in one place," and it suggests using Studio to enhance products and bring artwork to life.

Sharing is deliberately light. One click gives you options: share on mobile, embed on a website, or drop the project into Canva. The embed is a live 3D view that visitors can drag to move around. The company says you can embed Assemblr Studio or EDU projects into your own site. A viewer of one of the finished projects can also use the Assemblr app, which the Ducati case study describes as downloadable from the Play Store or App Store. The site interface is offered in English, Indonesian and Spanish.

Assemblr EDU applies the same editor to teaching. The home page calls it the all-in-one AR platform for teachers, parents and students to build interactive lessons, engaging projects and personalized learning materials, and promises to bring complex concepts to life with 3D and AR visuals. LessonCrafts adds an AI-assisted route for teachers who build lessons, though the site gives no more detail on how it works than that tagline.

For brands, Enterprise is a conversation rather than a self-serve product: the call to action is "Let's Chat," and the case studies show custom work done by the Assemblr team. The use-case page groups the projects into marketing stories and training stories:

  • Bank Indonesia used AR to share a message in a fun way, and Nussa official used it to reach children, who the page notes consume content in more ways than ever.
  • WWF commissioned a forest-exploration app where you scan with your phone and a forest appears anywhere. The app is called WWF Forests.
  • Joyglo used it to display its complete house looks, so you can view a dream house wherever you are.
  • Ducati used it at the launch of its Scrambler and Monster models at the Ducati Indonesia Flagship Store. Before, each launch meant unpacking exhausts, headlights, rear hoods and other parts that sat unused afterward. With Assemblr the accessories were shown in digital form, configured to resemble the real product, and guests only had to download the Assemblr app from the Play Store or App Store to look at them.
  • Astra Life, BNI 46 and Google used AR for invitations and greetings. Google Indonesia built Ramadan AR Virtual Care Packages that employees opened from a link in an email sent as Electronic Direct Marketing, because the COVID-19 outbreak kept them at home.
  • Bank Central Asia used a 3D and AR app to train merchants on EDC machines, and Unpad applied AR and VR to medical education.
  • Puskim PU used AR to explain eco-friendly biofilters and houses, and Pertamina used it around engineered structures.

The case-study filters on the site list Architecture, Automotive, Brand/IP owner, Educations, Training, Exhibitions and Furniture Design, which is a fair map of where the product gets used.

What the site states

The company publishes no prices or plan names. There is a Register link and Start Creating, Start Learning and Start Crafting buttons for the 3 non-enterprise products, but the site does not describe limits, a free plan or a trial. Enterprise is sold through contact. The site names no compliance standards, no hosting region, no code export and no self-hosting option.

The About page is where the numbers are. It says Assemblr graduated from Y Combinator Startup School in August 2018 after 10 weeks, from Facebook Accelerator Singapore Season 2 between March and September 2020 in a 6-month program, from Plug and Play Accelerator's 3-month program in April 2020, and from SYNRGY Accelerator Batch 2 in April 2020. It took 3rd place at Startup Arena Pitch Battle 2020, presented by Tech in Asia and Surge. It says the app was featured several times as the App Store's "App of the Day" in more than 100 countries, and that the team is helping millions of people shape the world. These are the company's own claims.

On integrations the pages name only Canva as a destination, plus the website embed and mobile sharing. Support channels are not described apart from the contact link.

Who it suits and who it does not

Studio suits a solo creator, designer or small business that wants to put a 3D product or an artwork into AR and share it with a link or an embed, without learning a 3D tool. The 6,000+ asset library is a real shortcut for that. Teachers and parents get their own door in EDU and an AI door in LessonCrafts. A brand or a training department with a larger project can talk to the Enterprise team, and the case studies from Indonesian banks, a motorcycle maker and a state-owned oil company show the kind of work that route produces.

The caveats are the missing details. Without published prices or plan limits, a freelancer cannot tell from the site what an asset upload, a published project or an embed costs. Nothing on the site describes game logic, scoring or levels, so treat it as a builder of interactive AR scenes with buttons and animation, not a full game engine. And since there is no stated code export, projects live inside Assemblr's app and embed rather than as files you take elsewhere.
