What renren-lowcode is

renren-lowcode (人人低代码平台) is a low-code development platform for Java teams. Its maker, 人人开源 (Renren Open Source), describes itself as a provider of web software base platforms and solutions built on Java for companies, public bodies and software vendors. The company's address on its pages is in the Changsha high-tech development zone in Hunan. The about page calls the low-code product "这是一款专为开发者设计的低代码解决方案" (a low-code solution designed for developers) that helps them build various applications quickly and efficiently, and says it was launched recently, next to the company's older renren-security and renren-cloud products. The site is in Chinese; the product interface itself supports Simplified Chinese and English. The reader it fits is a development team that wants a base platform with generated screens and APIs, then keeps and extends the code, not a business user who wants to avoid code.

What you build and how

The home page describes the platform as a low-code development platform built on a code generator that also supports online development, which it calls zero-code. The stack is a front and back end split: Spring Boot 3.x, Spring Security 6.x, MyBatis-Plus, Vue 3.x and Element Plus. That is the code your team will own.

The online form builder is the first thing you meet. On the Professional edition page, it covers single-table, tree-table, one-to-one and one-to-many forms. On the Flagship edition, the page says you drag components to build a form, with no deployment or service restart needed. The report builder works from SQL: you write the SQL statement and the platform produces a data list and an Excel export. The chart builder also works from SQL and produces ECharts charts. The interface builder turns SQL you write into CRUD endpoints. So the data layer is whatever relational database you connect, and the modeling language is SQL. Someone building with it needs to write SQL.

The Flagship edition adds a code generator for single-table, tree-table and multi-table business code, which the page says makes development faster. The split is deliberate: the online form, report, chart and interface tools are configuration the page labels 零代码开发 (zero-code development), while the generator writes business code that developers then extend by hand. Both editions integrate Flowable 7.x, which means you can design a process online, and the page says usage examples are provided. Access control follows the RBAC model down to button level, and data permissions are added with an annotation. Logs cover logins and operations, and the Professional edition also lists exception logs, which the page presents as a help for audits and for tracking down bugs.

The product page lists three menu layouts (left, top and mixed) and an interface in Simplified Chinese and English. Files can go to 阿里云 (Aliyun), 腾讯云 (Tencent), 七牛云 (Qiniu), MinIO or local upload, and the Flagship edition adds 华为云 (Huawei). SMS runs through Aliyun, Tencent and Qiniu, with Huawei added in Flagship, and the page says several SMS platforms and templates are supported. Excel import and export is wrapped for you, using EasyExcel in Professional and FastExcel in Flagship. Swagger API documentation lets front-end developers read and test the interfaces online.

Payments differ by edition. Professional integrates Alipay and WeChat official-account and menu management, plus a Vue 3.0 form designer. Flagship integrates Alipay and WeChat Pay for online payment, closing orders, refunds and refund notices.

AI is built in. The product page lists DeepSeek, OpenAI and Ollama for large-model needs, and an AI chat function that switches between models. A mobile app side is provided, built on uni-app, which the page says makes app development simpler. Multi-tenancy is included: Professional supports data-source isolation and switching tenant by domain, and Flagship adds field isolation.

Databases differ. Professional lists MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL and openGauss. Flagship lists those plus Oracle, Dameng and Kingbase (人大金仓). The Professional page lists Docker and automated-script deployment. The product is delivered as source code that you deploy yourself.

Price, licensing and support

Both editions say to contact customer service for a quote: "请联系客服获取报价" (please contact customer service for a quote). The terms that are stated are generous on paper. Both editions allow unlimited domains and unlimited projects, deliver all the source code with no encrypted code, issue an ordinary VAT invoice and an electronic license certificate, and include permanent updates, so future versions are free. Documentation, a community for questions and a customer-service QQ channel are named for support. The company home page lists its advantages as secure, stable and continuously updated base platforms that let you avoid reinventing the wheel and focus on business logic, plus complete secondary-development documentation and code it calls concise and easy to read, in line with the Alibaba Java Development Manual. It also says products are iterated on community feedback. A demo is available online, and the product page shows a shared demo login.

The company lists some older products as open source, such as renren-security 5.4.0, renren-fast 3.0 and renren-generator 1.0; renren-lowcode itself is sold by quote with a license certificate. Its sibling renren-security enterprise edition, a back-office scaffold, shares much of the same feature list. The company says its community has more than 30000 developers and that its enterprise users, at home and abroad, come from software services, air transport, government procurement, university research, real estate and insurance. That is a statement about the company's products overall, mostly renren-security and renren-cloud, and not a customer list for the low-code product. The company also shows a software copyright certificate and a high-tech enterprise listing among its qualifications. The renren-lowcode release is dated 2026-04-20 on the product list.

Who it suits and who it does not

renren-lowcode suits a Java development team that wants to stop hand-writing the same admin screens. Generating forms, SQL reports, ECharts charts and CRUD interfaces, then owning unencrypted source, is a practical way to ship internal systems. The terms of free future updates and unlimited projects also suit an agency that builds many client systems on one purchase. Teams that rely on Aliyun, Tencent, Alipay or WeChat Pay will find the integrations match their stack.

It is a poor match for non-technical staff, because the reports, charts and APIs all start from SQL and the output is a Java and Vue code base. The site, documentation and QQ support channel are in Chinese, which matters for a team that does not read it. The two editions differ in databases, tenancy and payments, so the edition choice is part of the purchase.
