What NewgenONE is

NewgenONE is Newgen's unified platform for enterprise orchestration, and its low-code application development layer is the part this entry is about. The company describes it as bringing together AI, workflow automation, content management, customer communication and low-code application development on a single platform. It is aimed at IT teams and "fusion teams" of developers and business staff in large organizations, with banking, financial services, insurance, government, healthcare and higher education named as the industries it serves. The product page sums up the goal as letting enterprises "rapidly compose complex, mission-critical applications without compromising governance or performance," across process-centric, content-driven and communication-led applications.

What you build and how

The visual environment. The company defines low-code as a visual approach to software development that needs little to no coding. Its platform is a visual environment for multiple developer personas, with drag-and-drop or point-and-click design and reusable components, and developers drag application components together to create mobile and web applications. The named modules are the User Interface Designer, Mobile-App Development, Application Studio, a Data Model Designer, Enterprise Mobility and Low-Code DevOps. The product page says composition is sped up with "pre-built templates, reusable components, and configurable services, with AI-guided recommendations for optimal component selection and layout," and that AI-driven UI intelligence can adjust interfaces by user role, behavior and device.

A web IDE for many roles. Newgen offers a web-based integrated development environment for citizen and professional developers. Its Automation Studio lets administrators govern the tools used by different personas: application designer, process designer, data modeler, business rules designer and communication designer. The web IDE works with version control, debugging and testing tools, and Newgen provides plug-ins for third-party IDEs such as Eclipse and Visual Studio. For extending beyond out-of-the-box features, the front end uses Java, JavaScript, Bootstrap, AngularJS and ReactJS, and Python sits underneath for creating and training AI and ML models.

Forms. The interface designer has a WYSIWYG form builder: you drag controls such as text boxes, drop-downs, date pickers and images from a toolbox, and the resulting forms are responsive and reusable on PC, tablet and mobile. Forms can take validation rules, calculations and conditional logic, and themes can be previewed to match brand guidelines. The company says the same interface can be used later to change an existing form without changing the application, so business users can make such edits without involving professional developers.

Data. NewgenONE includes a master data management tool with visual data modeling for entities, data types, data structures, validations and primary and foreign key relationships. Data objects support all CRUD operations, joins and arithmetic filters, and data models can be built in the system or imported from conventional databases, JSON, XML, data stubs and CSV files. The product page adds AI-assisted data modeling and validation, plus "built-in masking, encryption, and governed access controls."

Web, mobile and PWA. The web framework builds the portals and applications end users see. Responsive web apps adapt across devices, and "with a single click of a button, any web app developed on this platform can be extended as a Progressive Web App (PWA)," with offline capability, push notifications and device hardware access. Mobile apps are hybrid: the HTML and JavaScript application is wrapped in a native container that can reach device functions on several platforms. Customer self-service portals and agent portals are named use cases, designed with a template-based interface.

Reuse and DevOps. Developers can register and export components such as portals, forms, process models, business rules and data models into a catalog for others to reuse, and whole applications can be cataloged and shared selectively. The DevOps module promises automated build, test and release pipelines. NewgenONE also integrates with JIRA, mapping platform projects to JIRA projects and showing JIRA tasks inside the platform.

Integration. The FAQ says the platform supports both REST and SOAP APIs, and the home page says NewgenONE connects to core banking systems, CRM platforms, ERP applications, third-party services, legacy systems and cloud applications through APIs and connectors. Newgen positions low-code as a way to extend legacy systems rather than replace them.

Process automation. For the BPM category, Newgen says it helps organizations improve customer onboarding, lending, underwriting, claims processing, account servicing, document management and compliance, and that it embeds AI across processes to automate decisions, extract insights from documents and assist employees. Its use cases include content-driven workflow applications such as online account opening. Deployment can be cloud, on-premises or hybrid.

Security, uptime and proof

The FAQ lists single sign-on with ready-made LDAP and directory integration and authentication "through Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) 2.0, OAuth, etc.," role-based access control, encryption in transit over HTTPS/SSL and at rest with Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) 256 and triple DES mechanisms, and detailed audit logs of logins, application creation, versioning, deletion and access. It says the infrastructure complies with GDPR, IASE, PCI DSS, SOC1 and SOC2, that the platform supports building apps with two-factor authentication, and that "Newgen's low-code platform commits to an uptime of up to 99.95%."

The site publishes no prices or plan names. The home page offers a "Start Trial" button next to "Contact Newgen," and points to customer support and NewgenONE reviews on Gartner Peer Insights.

The company's claims about itself include a "371% return on investment from NewgenONE platform," tied to a Total Economic Impact study, a place in the 2024 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Low-code Application Platforms, "Leader" in The Forrester Wave for Content Platforms, Q1 2025, and "Leader" in the IDC MarketScape for Intelligent Customer Communication. Its success stories cite "60+ Regulatory Processes Automated" for a financial regulator, "20TB+ Legacy Content Migrated" for a national transport authority, and a "30% Reduction in Fixed Asset Cost" for a US-based Fortune 500 insurer that worked with Newgen and Infosys.

Who it suits and who it does not

NewgenONE suits a bank, insurer, government body or hospital group that runs core systems it cannot replace and wants to build the applications around them on one platform that also handles documents, communications and workflow. A central IT group coordinating many builders will value the persona-based studio, the component catalog, the DevOps pipeline and the IDE plug-ins, and a regulated buyer gets on-premises deployment alongside the stated compliance list.

It is a poor match for a founder or small team that wants to publish an MVP quickly, since the platform is sold as an enterprise system with no published pricing. The company itself frames low-code as a tool for developers and fusion teams and no-code as the self-service option for business users, so a business user working alone may find NewgenONE more than they need.
