What Grexx is
Grexx is a low-code platform for building custom business applications in the cloud, sold to IT and digitalization teams that handle complicated processes. The company's site says it has built custom cloud applications with the Grexx Low Code Platform since 2007, and the contact details point to Naarden in the Netherlands, with a separate phone line and sales address for Germany. The site is written in Dutch, with English and German versions offered. Grexx pitches the platform at difficult processes, connections with various stakeholders and complex governance, and at continuous development rather than one-off projects. Its homepage sums up the job as automating complex work, connecting stakeholders and digitalizing business processes. The company treats digitalization as a continuous cycle of learning, developing, putting into production, improving and developing further, and says the platform keeps that cycle manageable.
What you build and how
The platform is described as four components. The first is the Low-code Studio, a personal, low-threshold development environment that gives direct access to the platform's capabilities. The company's own wording is that you can build exactly what you need on a sturdy architecture, so you can develop, reuse and integrate quickly without writing much code. The FAQ is candid that this is low-code and not no-code: often no or only some programming knowledge is needed to build a business application, but experience modeling business processes helps a lot. It names IT projects as one place to pick that up, and researchers or builders of mathematical or language models as others.
The second component is MyGrexx, which centralizes the management of an application: OTAP environment management, version control, deployments and security. For an IT team, that is the governance layer, and it is separate from the studio where builders work.
The third is the Grexx Marketplace. You can publish reusable components from the studio to the marketplace or pull components in for your own use. The homepage calls these building blocks and says they let you build quickly from existing parts and benefit from the community's knowledge. The fourth is Coaching and Consultancy, described as training and coaching included in every subscription.
Integration runs through Grexx Connect. The site says software rarely stands alone and that Connect offers many integrations out of the box, so interaction with existing systems and applications is reachable in a low-code way. You can use the existing connections or build custom ones. Sign-in is handled by XXID single sign-on, which supports many authorization methods, with authentication through Google, Microsoft, LDAP and IRMA, and two-factor or multi-factor authentication for stronger security.
What does the finished application look like? The homepage says standard building blocks give complicated business rules, fine-grained authorizations, many involved parties, exceptions and security requirements the right shape, and that applications should stay clear and transparent even for complex work. The pages describe workflow-heavy business applications. In the FAQ the company says its development environment, Grexx Studio, makes it possible to build complex applications very quickly and cost-efficiently, and that new applications can grow from its cloud environment, each scalable and secure.
Other sections of the site point at what else the company sells: an AI Agents service, a Grexx Academy, industry pages and a seminar on AI compliance. The homepage also mentions an energy-sector case and a case about a volunteer organization digitalizing its operational processes. The volunteer case is Dit Koningskind, which the headline says digitalizes its operational processes with volunteers while making them future-proof. News items on the homepage cover digital autonomy, data sovereignty and governance, and compare how different platforms handle standardization and improvisation.
The lock-in answer in the FAQ is specific. Grexx says it focuses on handing all knowledge and skills to the customer, so that once you can build yourself you need no consultancy to change existing applications or create new ones. It adds that if you ever want to develop on another platform, the knowledge to do that cost-effectively is in house.
The evidence from the pages
The site has a "Plannen & Prijzen" (plans and prices) section and says there are three options you can get going with quickly, but no plan names or amounts are published. A "Probeer gratis" (try for free) button and a demo booking appear across the site. The coaching program, called Grexx Enabled, is stated to be included in the subscription cost with no extra charge, with experienced coaches sharing their knowledge with your team.
Experience claims come from the company. It says on the homepage it has nearly 20 years of experience and hundreds of applications behind it, and that experience developing more than 100 applications shaped the platform, which it describes as 15 years in the cloud. The FAQ says the platform has been proven for more than 15 years by demanding customers, and that customers whose most critical processes run on Grexx are often satisfied for longer than 10 years. No customer is named apart from the case-study headlines.
Security claims are the most detailed part. The homepage says Grexx is extensively certified, naming ISO 27001, ISAE 3000 type II and NEN 7510, and GDPR compliant (written AVG in Dutch). A second block says that, with 15+ years of running customer applications in the cloud, Grexx built a compliance program that continuously improves the platform's operational quality, and that the company has a SOC 2 ISAE 3402 Type II assurance report, is ISO 27001 and NL-NEN 7510 certified, and is GDPR compliant. It also says the availability, integrity and confidentiality of the platform's application data are tested by outside assessors every year. The same section says the supply chain is compliant and that the directly adjacent links in it are too.
Support is described as personal coaching to give new users a steep learning curve, plus the Academy and the community. The homepage invites visitors to join a free low-code community and download a whitepaper. A video, a podcast and a blog also sit in the resources menu.
Who it suits and who it does not
Grexx suits a company, public body or software team that expects an application to run for years, needs formal environment management and audited security, and wants its own staff to take over development after a coaching period. With an office in Naarden, a German sales line and Dutch compliance names such as NEN 7510, it speaks most directly to Dutch and German organizations. An energy company or a service organization with complicated authorization rules and many parties is the kind of case the site shows.
It is a heavier choice than a form builder or website tool. A solo founder with an MVP, or a marketing team that wants a landing page and a form this week, will find nothing on these pages aimed at them. The caveat is cost: the site mentions three plan options but publishes no amounts, so the price comes from a conversation with the company.
