What ThriveCart is

ThriveCart is a shopping cart and checkout platform for creators and small businesses that sell digital products, subscriptions and online courses. It sits between the sales page and the customer: you build the checkout, add the offers around it, take the payment and deliver access, including through a built-in learning management system. The company's site says it is "Loved by 75,000+ Creators." Its contact page lists a Wilmington, Delaware address.

What you build and how

Checkouts and funnels. The homepage describes funnels as setting "the exact path buyers take," with multiple order bumps, one-click upsells and downsells, pro-rated payments and automatic access rules. The company claims that an order bump, upsell and downsell together lift average order value by 118%. Coupons promote offers in seconds, and A/B testing lets you split test checkouts. Checkouts can be embedded anywhere, which the features page describes as customizing fully and embedding ThriveCart checkouts on any site, so it works alongside an existing website rather than replacing it.

Ways to charge. The features page lists Pay Later, one-time payment, ongoing subscriptions, time-limited subscriptions, split-pay and pay-as-you-like pricing. ThriveCart Installments lets buyers pay over 3, 6 or 12 months for transactions up to $65K, described as interest-free with no loans and no credit checks, and paid upfront to the seller. The company says this boosts average order value by 3.1x. Subscriptions are handled with trials, renewals, upgrades and cancellations "on autopilot."

Customers and money. Global tax automation calculates and collects VAT, GST and sales taxes worldwide, and is marked as a Pro+ feature. Invoices and refunds are processed in seconds. A Customer Hub gives buyers one portal for purchases, subscriptions and updates. Reporting includes customer cohorts, and heatmaps that show sales performance by location are a Pro+ feature. A "Future AI Optimization Layer" is also listed for conversions and growth.

Affiliates. The platform lets you recruit and onboard affiliates with automated revenue splits, payouts and JV contracts. Separately, ThriveCart runs its own affiliate program for people who refer new ThriveCart customers, with tiered commissions that start at 20% of a subscription plan for the first 2 sales and rise to 55% beyond 200 sales, paid every month while the customer stays subscribed.

Courses with Learn. Every account includes ThriveCart Learn, a built-in learning management system. The company says you can create unlimited courses, host them with your own branding and connect them directly to your checkout without third-party tools or extra fees. You can choose sidebar, top menu or grid layouts and adjust colors and fonts. Learn+ adds bundles of multiple courses, custom domains, advanced automation with behavior tags, drip content over time, student import by CSV and team members for managing content or support. Students therefore get a branded course area, while the buyer-facing side stays in the same checkout.

How the platform is organized. The features section groups the product into transactions, revenue optimization, customer and subscription management, growth and affiliates, fulfillment, the learning management system, revenue intelligence, integrations and an enterprise area. A seller arriving from a course-platform comparison and one arriving from a digital-download comparison therefore land on the same product, with Learn as the course layer and the cart as the sales layer. The learning management FAQ says you can sell as many courses as you like, brand each with your own logo and layout, and use Learn+ to release bonus modules or lessons as students progress.

Integrations. The features page claims 100+ integrations, direct or through Zapier. The integrations page names AWeber, Kit (formerly ConvertKit), Drip, GetResponse, HubSpot, Infusionsoft, Skool, Airtable, Circle, Brevo and Teachable directly, and lists Kajabi, WooCommerce, Podia, Thinkific and Maropost as connections made through Zapier. Xperiencify is also named.

What the pages state

Plans. The pricing table on the learning management page, which has a monthly and annual toggle, lists three tiers, each with 0% fees on sales, 24/7 support and a 30-day free trial behind the "Get Started Free" button. You can change plan whenever you want, and every plan comes with ThriveCart Academy, the company's community platform.

  • ThriveCart Standard ("Great to get started") is $47 a month. It includes customized cart and checkout pages, checkout in 100+ countries, unlimited products and funnels, 1 bump offer, one-click upsells and downsells, advanced funnel automation, A/B split testing, abandoned cart recovery, sales tax automation, buy now pay later, split pay, pay-as-you-like and subscription billing, and 100+ direct integrations. Its Academy Starter plan covers unlimited courses and students, up to 2,000 community members in up to 10 communities, gamification, quizzes and certificates, 100 GB of video storage, a 2 GB maximum file size per video and 1080p HD streaming.
  • ThriveCart Pro+ ("Scale without limits") is $87 a month and adds multiple order bumps, crypto payments, tax-inclusive pricing, QR codes, coupon analytics, UTM tracking, one-click subscription upgrades and downgrades, a churn tool, subscription analytics, the affiliate center with automated payouts, joint venture contracts, custom branding and domains, multi-user permissions and business intelligence reporting. Its Academy Growth plan raises the community limit to 10,000 members in unlimited communities, with a custom community domain, 500 GB of video storage and a 4 GB maximum per video.
  • ThriveCart Enterprise is custom priced on a quote, with tailored onboarding, a dedicated account manager, platform migration, volume-based processing rates, unlimited team seats, multi-brand and marketplace support, custom API and integration support, a headless option, enterprise SLAs and white-label branding for the Academy.

The same page says ThriveCart is also "Available as a lifetime option."

Support. ThriveIQ is described as AI and human assistance 24/7, 365 days a year. Live Chat Support is a premium add-on with response time under 5 minutes, and there is an Enterprise Support add-on too. The contact page points to a support hub, a research hub and an official Facebook group it says has 16,500+ users. A "Done for you" service offers custom setups from a team the company says is behind over $6 billion in sales.

Claims. "Loved by 75,000+ Creators" is the company's own number. The page attributes a 118% average order value lift to bumps, upsells and downsells, and customer testimonials praise the product, including one from a coach who writes that over 7 years they had seen many cart builders "but never one as integrative and feature-rich as ThriveCart." One affiliate on the site says they have done well over $3 million in sales on ThriveCart and that their checkout pages started converting 5x higher after switching. These are testimonials, not audits. On scale, the company's pages claim 70M+ products and services sold, $8B+ in revenue processed and 12M+ student enrollments. The footer of the features and integrations pages states "PCI DSS Compliant" and "GDPR Compliant", which are the company's own claims.

Video series. A demo video series page shows the full-platform overview as "Coming soon."

Who it suits and who it does not

ThriveCart suits a course creator, coach or digital-product seller who wants the cart, upsells, subscriptions, affiliates and course delivery in one account, and who already has a sales page elsewhere. The built-in Learn system means a small business can sell a course without paying for a separate course platform, and the integrations with Kit, Circle, Skool and Teachable help when it must connect to tools it already uses. Sellers who sell internationally will notice the tax automation, which is a Pro+ feature.

It is less suited to someone who wants a drag-and-drop site builder, since ThriveCart is a checkout and funnel tool rather than a full website builder. Advanced Learn features such as custom domains and drip content sit behind Learn+. The bigger community limits, multiple order bumps and the affiliate center sit on Pro+, so a seller planning an affiliate launch should budget for that tier from the start.
