What it is
SamCart is a digital business platform for people who sell courses, digital products and subscriptions online. The company describes it as the platform that builds, runs and scales your online business, and its emphasis is on the checkout: order bumps, one-click upsells, payment plans and recovery tools that raise what each customer is worth. It is aimed at creators, coaches and course sellers who already have something to sell and want the sales machinery around it, with an AI assistant named Sam to write the pages and copy.
The company says more than 75,000 businesses sell on SamCart and that $8B+ has been processed. Those are its own figures. The pages do not name a headquarters.
What you build and how
You build sales pages, a checkout, a course and a link-in-bio page, mostly from one editor. The features page lists Sales Pages as a drag-and-drop builder plus AI generation: customize templates or let the AI write the copy and design the layout. The homepage adds a Pages AI that takes a description of the page you want and returns a full landing or sales page. That is how SamCart reaches the landing-page-builder reader. A separate Link-in-Bio tool gives you one link for everything you sell, to drop into Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or email, and the AI builds the page.
The AI assistant is a large part of the pitch. The company says Sam writes your sales page, builds your course outline, designs your ebook and handles copy before your first sale, and that it can draft the digital product itself. A Design AI covers ebooks, slide decks, social posts and branded content, and its Magic Wand redesigns any section with one click. The AI Assistant covers ad copy, email sequences, product descriptions, social posts, product ideas, upsell strategies and business advice. The company says the assistant is trained on $8B in real sales data.
Checkout is the center of the product. The company claims "the highest-converting checkout on the web" and says checkout takes 8 seconds rather than 8 steps, using stored cards, one-click Apple Pay and Google Pay, and auto-complete. It cites one user whose conversion rose from 3.15% to 8.91% overnight without a change in offer or traffic, which is a single example and not a promise. Order bumps add a companion product at checkout, and one-click upsells follow after purchase. The company says sellers who turn on both see a 98% jump in average order value. The features page adds order upgrades with automatic proration, such as swapping monthly for annual, plus add-ons at checkout.
Payment options include one-time payments, payment plans, subscriptions, free trials and pay-what-you-want. Subscriptions run on monthly, annual or custom billing cycles with cancel and pause options, and a Subscription Saver retries failed payments on smart schedules. Stripe and PayPal work out of the box, with multiple processors supported. The company's timeline says SamPay became SamCart's main payment processor in 2023, and Buy Now, Pay Later went live that year. Cart abandonment recovery sends automated follow-up emails with personalized short codes. Checkout Anywhere lets you embed your checkout on any website, landing page, WordPress, email or bio link.
For online courses, SamCart has a Courses app inside the same account. The company's FAQ says you can create, deliver and sell as many courses as you want, on any topic, with no limits or hidden fees. Course creators can track course progress and quiz completion next to standard product reporting. Because courses are built inside the platform, all existing SamCart integrations are available to them. The FAQ also says the discounted yearly plan includes a Course Creation Challenge that walks you through making a course, and that when the yearly subscription renews or the trial ends you have unlimited courses and unlimited students for life. The homepage lists course and membership hosting for courses and communities.
Growth tools sit alongside: an Affiliate Center and affiliate tools, A/B testing, an Integration Engine and a Customer Hub appear in the feature list. The partners page says the company has paid out over $1,000,000 in commission to its affiliates, and it invites partners and integration builders to get in touch. An API documentation link sits in the footer.
The evidence from the pages
The homepage states that SamCart starts at $79 per month for Core, which includes unlimited pages and products, the AI that builds them, the Courses app and cart abandonment. Pro is $199. The pricing comparison shows Team Seats of 1 on Core and 10 on Pro, and Email + Chat support on both. The pages describe a free trial and say you can cancel anytime during your trial, and that you are never locked into a subscription or long-term contract.
The about page gives the company's history. It lists a beta in 2015, a $3 million venture raise, a $10 million Series A and an $82 million Series B, along with releases of a template builder and the Courses app. The pages do not name its investors. They publish no compliance claim such as SOC 2 and no hosting region, and the sample numbers (the 3.15% to 8.91% jump, the 98% order value lift) are marketing figures rather than guarantees.
Who it suits and who it does not
SamCart suits a course seller, coach or digital-product business with something to sell that wants higher order values from upsells, bumps and payment plans, and wants an AI assistant to produce the first draft of pages, ebooks and copy. A team of up to 10 people can share the Pro plan, and one person can run Core. The Courses app means a seller does not need a separate course platform for the common case.
It is a weaker fit for someone testing a first idea on a tight budget. The entry price of $79 a month is a fixed cost before any sale, where some digital-store tools charge only per sale. A seller who wants a full storefront with many products browsed by shoppers will find the pages built around checkout and funnels, with a link-in-bio page standing in for a store. And a developer who wants full control of every checkout step will work inside the drag-and-drop and AI model the pages describe, though an API is documented.
