What It Is
Workativ is an AI agent platform for HR and IT teams, with a no-code chatbot builder at its core. It is for internal support teams that want employees to get answers and actions inside Slack or Microsoft Teams without a developer building each flow. The company says modern HR spends 70% of its bandwidth on repetitive inquiries and administrative friction, and its IT pitch is an agent that handles L0 to L1 tickets that should never reach the service desk. The site invites visitors to "join 500+ teams already using Workativ."
What You Build and How
The editor is a visual canvas. The chatbot page describes a no-code builder where you build dialogs that execute tasks, offer menu options, validate user details or just make small talk. The FAQ says the platform supports multi-turn conversations, multi-step app workflows and live system integrations, configured through templates and a visual builder rather than code. The page's pitch is that the HR or IT team that owns the bot can update dialogs, workflows and integrations directly, without developer involvement or an implementation partner.
The knowledge layer is documents you already have. The site says you can connect SharePoint, Confluence, Notion or Google Drive, upload IT runbooks, policy documents and procedures, and Workativ trains the chatbot on that documentation, so answers come from your material and not generic responses. The build steps it lays out are upload your knowledge, connect your apps, deploy to Slack or Teams, then measure and optimize.
Logic and automation are where this goes beyond a Q&A bot. On the HR side the site lists workflows that run automatically, triggered by system events and tracked end to end, with escalation only when needed. Employee onboarding runs from offer accepted to day 90, covering IT provisioning, document signing, benefits enrollment and 30/60/90 check-ins. Offboarding covers access revocation, equipment return, exit interview scheduling, a COBRA notice and final documentation. The FAQ adds performance review cycles, leave management, compliance training tracking, hiring workflows and access provisioning. On the IT side the agent handles password resets, account lockout resets, access requests and ticket creation by acting directly in Azure AD, Okta, ServiceNow, Freshservice and Jira Service Management.
Integrations are a named list. The chatbot page shows a connector wall with Workday, ADP, UKG, Sage HR, Oracle HR, BambooHR, ServiceNow, Freshservice, Jira (JSD), ServiceDesk Plus, Okta, Azure AD, SharePoint, Confluence, Google Drive, Notion, Slack, Teams, Office 365, Outlook, Gmail, Dropbox, Twilio and Lucca, plus "100+ More." The home page FAQ says all integrations support bidirectional read and write, not just lookup, and says the HR agents connect to BambooHR, Workday, ADP, UKG, Personio and 100+ HRIS tools. The chatbot page promises "100+ apps, and 1000s of automations instantly," built on pre-built connectors so there is no custom integration code to write or maintain, and the builder itself is organized into chatbot, automations, testing, integrations and deploy stages, so a team can test a dialog before it goes out to employees.
The employee's experience is simple. They ask in Slack or Teams, where the agent is deployed natively, and the FAQ says they can ask questions and take actions in the tools they already use. For HR the agent can answer PTO, benefits and policy questions and execute actions such as submitting leave requests, updating HRIS records and routing approvals. When a human is needed, a live escalation goes through a shared inbox visible to HR and IT teams. The product line on the site names AI Agent Studio, AI Coworker, AI Workflows, Knowledge AI, AI Guardrails and a Shared Live Inbox. This is a build-it-yourself tool in the sense that the team configures the agent, but the scope is internal employee support, not a customer-facing website bot.
Plans, Limits and Claims
Pricing is stated. The home page FAQ says Workativ uses session and execution-based pricing, so you pay for what you use and not for headcount, with no per-user fees. Plans start at $349/month for the Business plan, described as full HR and IT automation, with custom pricing for Mid-Market and Enterprise organizations. The way in is a "Get a free demo" button or a call with sales.
Speed of deployment is a headline claim. The company says Workativ deploys in 5 to 7 days, with no implementation consultant, no developer resources and no IT team required. The chatbot page makes the same point for the Slack and Teams bot: a pre-built chatbot with "no code, no implementation partner, no wait."
Security and compliance are listed in detail. The site says Workativ is SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, GDPR and HIPAA compliant, with 25+ security controls including PII data redaction, prompt injection protection, RBAC, SSO, MFA and SIEM integration, and that this is included across all plans, not reserved for the top tier. The chatbot page lists an immutable audit trail and secrets and token masking among the controls.
Outcome claims are the company's own. It says customers achieve 65 to 80% query automation, and that GoTo resolved 80% of employee support queries autonomously using Workativ, against an industry average of 25 to 45% for year-one AI deflection. The page shows review scores of 4.0 on G2 and 4.5 on Capterra, without review counts.
Who It Suits and Who It Does Not
It suits an HR or IT team at a company that already lives in Slack or Microsoft Teams and wants onboarding, offboarding, access requests and routine support questions handled without writing code. A team with policies and runbooks in SharePoint, Confluence, Notion or Google Drive has the raw material the bot trains on. An IT service desk on ServiceNow, Freshservice or Jira Service Management can see which systems the agent acts in. The fixed starting price and the claim of days, not months, also suit a team that needs to show results quickly.
It suits less well a founder who wants a chatbot for a public website, a store or a sales funnel. The pages frame the product around employee support and HR and IT workflows, and they describe deployment to Slack and Teams, not a web widget. A very small company will also weigh the $349/month Business entry price against its ticket volume. The strongest fit is a team whose HRIS and ticketing systems already appear on the connector list.
