Teneo

Teneo is an enterprise AI agent platform that combines conversational AI with generative AI. It is a builder for teams that run contact centers and customer service operations, and the company describes it as a low-code framework with an easy-to-use interface. The pages do not say where the company is based. They do say the platform is meant for businesses that want AI agents that think, act and deliver results at scale.

What you build and how

The product is a place to design, deploy and refine AI agents. The company's wording is "One Unified Platform: Design, deploy, and refine all your AI agents in one place", with no third-party tools required or charged extra. Most of what Teneo describes is customer service work. Agents answer customers across a contact center stack, and the site's solutions pages group the offer into named packages.

Those packages show what you can build. Teneo Conversational IVR is for voice calls where callers speak naturally instead of pressing menu keys. Teneo Customer Service Automation covers customer service across all channels. Teneo Contact Center Automation is pitched as automating 99% of contact center processes. Teneo Agentless Contact Center is described as resolving up to 100% of basic support and more than 50% of Level 2 support. Teneo Accuracy Booster is aimed at companies that already run a contact center as a service (CCaaS) platform, and it adds built-in real-time testing. Teneo LLM Orchestrator is the piece that controls how large language models are used inside a conversation.

The editor is described as low-code, and the home page lists "Public API, no code, drag and drop, open architecture". The platform page adds that you can customize AI agents "with or without coding expertise", so a technical builder and a less technical one can work on the same agent. The company's own language for the logic layer is TLML, which it calls deterministic. Its argument is that combining Teneo's NLU (natural language understanding) with TLML adds 99% accuracy, because predictable rules handle the parts of a conversation that must not vary, while generative AI handles the open-ended parts.

Generative AI is optional by design. The home page says "Use as much or as little LLM as you need. Or none at all. Not locked to any vendor." It also states that only controlled responses reach customers and that no direct LLM output touches a customer interaction. The company puts it as "100% Output Control: Zero hallucinations", a claim worth reading as marketing wording rather than a tested guarantee. The Orchestrator is described as using prompt adaptation and LLM approximation to cut generative AI costs.

Orchestration is built in. The platform page says Teneo orchestrates the contact center tech stack, bringing together control for generative AI and data across systems. The company says built-in orchestration comes at no extra cost, and the home page puts it as "Agent 100 Is as Easy as Agent 1": effort stays flat as you add use cases, processes and agents.

On the data and integration side, Teneo says it can connect to any BSS, OSS, CRM, EHR, GDS or CCaaS that has an API, in days, through its Public API or low-code nodes. It states there is "No approved connector list", and it also mentions an extensive and growing library of prebuilt backend and channel connectors. The pages name no specific CRMs or contact center vendors, so check the connector you need with the company.

Teneo supports MCP (Model Context Protocol) for agent-to-tool communication and A2A (Agent-to-Agent protocol) for agent-to-agent coordination, and describes itself as built on open standards. The Public API is called stable and versioned. The company says it covers the whole agent lifecycle, which it lists as create, test, deploy and optimize. That matters for an enterprise team that wants to run Teneo agents from its own release process instead of only from the visual editor.

What the end customer sees depends on the package. In the Conversational IVR case, a caller talks to the agent. In customer service automation, the customer is served across channels with consistent answers. The pages mention that handoffs between agents transfer context and relevant information so outcomes stay controlled.

What the company's pages state

The pages show no plans or prices. Calls to action are "Schedule a Call" and "Schedule a Demo", so a buyer should expect a sales conversation rather than a self-service signup. There is no free plan or trial listed on the pages.

The company makes several numeric claims, and they are its own. It says more than 17,000 AI agents are in production across global enterprise contact centers. It says one enterprise customer saves $32.4M monthly, and that customers see an 18% increase in CSAT (customer satisfaction). It says that combining its NLU and TLML adds 99% accuracy, and that its orchestration can cut generative AI costs by 98%. The agentic AI page adds that many enterprises see measurable improvements, such as higher upsells, reduced support costs and increased customer retention, within days of deployment.

The partners page gives a concrete case. TechMahindra, described there as offering IT services across 90 countries, implemented Teneo for Telefónica Germany. The page credits Teneo Conversational IVR with a 6% increase in IVR resolution rate and 1M monthly calls handled. The same page describes a partner network of technology companies and consultants who deliver solutions built on Teneo, and invites others to apply.

On security, the Why Teneo page lists "enterprise-grade security" and a section on languages and privacy that says the platform provides accessibility across global audiences and ensures data privacy and compliance. A Security Center is mentioned. The pages do not name a certification such as SOC 2, do not state a hosting region, and do not say whether the platform can be self-hosted or exports code.

Who it suits and who it does not

Teneo suits a large contact center team that already has a CCaaS platform, a CRM and a backlog of support volume, and wants one place to build, test and orchestrate AI agents. The controlled-response design is aimed at teams in regulated settings who cannot let a model improvise, and the Public API suits engineering groups who want the agent lifecycle inside their own tooling. A systems integrator or partner building solutions for several clients can also work from it, since the company runs a partner program.

It is a weaker fit for a solo founder or a small business that wants a website chatbot this afternoon. Nothing on the pages points to self-service pricing, a free tier or a template gallery you can browse, and the entire framing is enterprise customer service. A team looking for a general no-code app builder, a form tool or an internal workflow tool will find the pages narrowly about conversational agents.

Two caveats are worth carrying into an evaluation. First, the company's headline figures, including the 99% accuracy, the 98% cost reduction and the $32.4M saving from one customer, are claims on its own marketing pages, and the pages do not give the methods behind them. Ask for references from a company of your size. Second, because pricing is quoted after a call, you cannot compare Teneo to self-service builders on cost until you have a proposal in hand.
