Pickaxe
Tap a star to rate
Pickaxe is a no-code platform for building, deploying and monetizing custom AI tools, written for consultants, agencies, coaches and creators who want to hand clients a working AI agent and get paid for it. The company's tagline is "Shopify for agent-powered businesses."
What you build and how
The builder is a no-code agent editor. The homepage lists its core pieces as a no-code agent builder, multi-model control, an auto-updating knowledge base and a way to build with AI agents via a CLI. You describe what the agent should do, point it at your knowledge, and pick the AI model. The Gold plan includes "access to all the latest AI models", so model choice starts on the entry plan.
The use cases on the homepage show how broad "chatbot" is here. The list includes a blog and social content generator that drafts and schedules posts via Zapier, a discovery call qualification chatbot for filtering leads, a website conversion chatbot that answers questions and reduces friction, an AI sales assistant that explains products, pricing and positioning, a customer support chatbot for handling questions at scale, an internal knowledge base AI for company information access, an AI tutor, a curriculum companion for students, a corporate training assistant for onboarding, an exam preparation AI that generates practice questions, a niche expertise chatbot trained on your own IP, a between-sessions support AI for coaching and consulting, and a testimonial extractor that mines calls and feedback for proof points. A "paid niche advisor bot that sells access to your domain expertise 24/7" shows the commercial angle.
Actions are how an agent does things instead of only talking. The homepage says actions connect your agents to the tools you use, so you and your users can trigger workflows in real time, "across 500+ integrations." The use-case list names the tools behind those actions: Zapier for scheduling social posts, a CRM for scored leads, HubSpot or Attio for logging sales conversations, Google Sheets for client intake answers, ClickUp or Todoist for onboarding tasks, Airtable for an internal knowledge base, and email or Slack for support escalations. The same list stretches into consulting work, with a statement-of-work builder that turns call transcripts into client-ready SOWs, a proposal generator, a weekly client update generator and a meeting recap assistant. Plans cap this: Gold allows up to 3 actions per agent, and Pro lists unlimited action connections.
Deployment is the chatbot-builder part of the product, and the homepage names six routes under the heading "One agent, multiple channels":
- Direct Link, one polished URL straight to your agent, with no setup.
- Web Embed, where you "Drop a snippet into any website to embed your AI as a widget or inline chat."
- API, so you can call an agent from any app or workflow with a clean JSON API.
- Email, running an agent on a real email address with threaded memory and attachments.
- Slack, deploying the agent into Slack channels for team use.
- WhatsApp, for automated AI conversations.
On pricing, Slack and WhatsApp deployments are listed under Pro.
The second half of the product is the portal, which is why it also belongs under portals. The homepage says you can "Build client-ready AI agents, package them into products, and sell through branded portals with billing, access control, and usage tracking built in." The feature headings under "Turn agents into products" are Client-ready AI Portals, Full control over costs and monetization, Built-in user activity and access control, and Enterprise grade compliance. The company's own comparison article describes it as letting you "create branded portals where your clients can access one or more agents, with built-in billing, access control, and usage tracking."
Workspaces are the container for this. Gold gives up to 3 Workspaces, Pro gives unlimited Workspaces, and the Business tier says you can "Retain up to 98% of Workspace revenue." Pro also lists up to 100 user memories per Workspace.
The same site also mentions Fork, which it describes as bringing AI agents and business software together in one customizable workspace. That is a separate product, so treat it as context.
Plans, claims and customers
Pricing on the homepage is shown monthly or yearly, with yearly saving 20%.
- Gold, for solopreneurs and creators: $37 a month, or $29 a month billed annually. It includes $15 a month in free credits, white-labeling, up to 3 Workspaces, up to 3 actions per agent, Agent and Workspace API at 1 cent per request, and 1 collaborator per Workspace.
- Pro, for AI consulting organizations: $147 a month, or $116 a month billed annually. It includes $50 a month in free credits, Agent and Workspace API access, unlimited Workspaces, unlimited document uploads, unlimited action connections, Slack and WhatsApp deployments and up to 100 user memories per Workspace.
- Business, for companies and teams: starting at $597 a month with a minimum 6-month commitment. It includes a custom credit package, up to 98% of Workspace revenue retained, increased bandwidth for document uploading, dedicated support, custom solutions, additional collaborators and advanced SSO and user management.
Both the Gold and Pro cards carry a "Get Started for free" button, and the comparison article on the company's blog says there is a free tier, though the homepage pricing table lists no free plan or its limits. That article also quotes lower Gold and Pro prices than the homepage table; the homepage figures are the ones to budget on.
On compliance, the homepage shows CCPA Compliant, SOC2 Compliant and GDPR Compliant, and states that its use of information from Google Workspace scopes adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. A testimonial from Alex Sidorenko, identified as a CEO, says that "Even when I'm asleep and my client is in a crisis, they can go to some of my Pickaxes and get the information that they need until morning comes."
Who it suits and who it does not
Pickaxe suits a consultant, coach or small agency that has expertise to package. You can build a client-facing agent, put it behind your own branding, and charge for access, all without writing code. It also suits a creator who wants an agent inside a course or membership. The Gold plan's white-labeling and 3 Workspaces are enough to try the model, and Pro removes the Workspace and action caps.
It is less natural for a company that only wants one internal assistant, since the portal, billing and revenue features would go unused, and the Gold plan's cap of 3 actions per agent and 1 collaborator per Workspace is tight for a team. Anyone who needs credits beyond the included $15 or $50 a month should read the credit terms before committing, because the homepage does not say how many conversations a credit covers. Slack and WhatsApp deployments are listed on the Pro plan, not on Gold.
