What Heyy is
Heyy (written heyy on its own pages) is a no-code platform for automating customer messaging with what it calls AI Employees. The home page headline is "Automate customer Messaging with AI Employees", and it promises to automate sales, marketing and support conversations across Live Chat, WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger. It is built for teams that talk to customers on messaging apps: sales and marketing groups that want leads qualified quickly, support teams with repetitive questions, and service businesses that take inquiries from several channels at once. The product tour is organized around 5 areas, AI Employees, Campaigns, Automations, Inbox and Mini CRM, so it covers the bot, the outbound broadcasts, the flows around them and the place where humans take over.
What you build and how
The unit you build is the AI Employee. The FAQ defines it as "a digital, customizable AI entity" you create on Heyy to handle tasks like customer support, sales, onboarding or internal operations, and compares it to a virtual team member that can chat with customers, answer FAQs, qualify leads, or integrate with your tools to get work done. Setting one up is described in 4 steps: "Just create your employee, customize settings, set up your workflows and go live." You need no technical knowledge, and the page adds that developers can extend functionality with custom integrations if needed. A banner on the home page repeats the idea: Heyy lets you create AI agents that automate workflows, handle customer interactions and run 24/7, with no code.
Heyy's own comparison articles fill in the feature list. The product has a unified inbox that brings WhatsApp, Instagram DMs, Messenger, website chat and email into one dashboard. AI Employees are role-specific and trained on your business data and FAQs. A no-code visual flow builder handles conversation automation. Smart lead qualification and intent-based routing send people to the right place. WhatsApp broadcast campaigns and template messaging cover outbound marketing. Human handoff keeps the full conversation context intact, so the person who takes over sees what was already said. Built-in analytics and performance reporting round it out. The same article says setup takes under an hour with no coding.
The lead generation use case on the home page is concrete. The product helps you attract customers on the channel they already like, collect their details, qualify them and assign them to the relevant team instantly, "ensuring you never miss an opportunity." The industry blocks follow the same pattern. Finance and insurance teams collect lead data, route requests and handle FAQs. Education teams collect inquiries, manage enrollments and answer common student questions at scale. Real estate teams manage inquiries, schedule viewings and handle leads. The company's tagline for all of them is that Heyy adapts to the way you work, whatever your niche.
On connections, the FAQ says Heyy connects with WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and your website chat widget, and that you can plug it into CRMs, e-commerce systems, ticketing tools and more using integrations or APIs. It does not name specific CRM or e-commerce products on the page, so check the integration list for the tools you already use. There is a docs area for API documentation and developer guides, a Partner page about growing your business by partnering with Heyy, a blog, and career listings. A Mini CRM tab sits in the product tour, so teams with a dedicated sales CRM should confirm how the two work together.
What the pages state
Heyy lists its pricing in its own blog. In a comparison of WhatsApp automation tools, Heyy's plans are listed this way. Free is $0 a month "forever" with 1 user, 50 credits a month, 1 AI employee, 3 channels and 5 automations. Hobby is $49 a month billed monthly or $41 a month billed annually, with 1 user, 1,000 credits, 5 channels, 10 automations and campaigns. Pro is $149 a month billed monthly or $125 a month billed annually, with 5 users, 6,000 credits and unlimited channels. The blog's listings do not say what a credit buys, which is the first thing to ask about, because the credit allowance decides how many conversations each plan can really carry.
A second article, an alternatives guide for Kommo, calls Heyy "free forever with AI included" and groups it with flat-fee alternatives, in contrast to per-user billing. That is Heyy's own framing of its pricing model, but note that the list above shows user counts per plan (1 on Free and Hobby, 5 on Pro), so seats still matter as a team grows. A third line in the WhatsApp article calls Heyy "the strongest choice" for businesses managing conversations across WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger in one inbox. That is the company's opinion on its own site, not independent testing, and it names competitors it says lead elsewhere: Wati for WhatsApp-only support, AiSensy for broadcasts, Interakt for Shopify stores and Respond.io for enterprise CRM-connected automation.
On security, the FAQ says Heyy follows modern security practices including encryption and secure storage, and that "You control what data your AI Employee has access to and how it's used." The site names no compliance certifications such as SOC 2 or ISO standards on its pages, so a regulated team should ask for documentation. The FAQ also says an AI Employee is designed to complement your human team, handling repetitive tasks and FAQs while people focus on complex work, which is a design stance, not a measured result. The home page carries customer testimonials, including one attributed to the Head of Sales and Marketing at B&B Events, but Heyy's pages give no usage numbers such as customer counts.
Who it suits and who it does not
Heyy suits a sales or support team that already lives on WhatsApp and Instagram and wants one AI-assisted inbox, with broadcasts and routing around it. The free plan, with 1 AI employee and 3 channels, is enough to build a first assistant and watch how it handles real questions before paying anything. A small business with a few automations and a modest message volume can start on Hobby at $49 a month, and a team of up to 5 can sit on Pro.
It is less obviously right for a team that wants a deep, standalone CRM, because the CRM piece is called Mini CRM. It also asks you to understand credits, a metering unit the blog does not translate into conversations, and the free plan's 50 credits a month is a small allowance for a busy channel. Teams whose customers are mostly on email or phone will use fewer of the product's strengths, since its center of gravity is messaging apps. Finally, much of what is known about Heyy comes from its own marketing, so run a trial with your real traffic before committing a team to it.
