What it is

Chatty is an AI chatbot builder for online stores, sold as "The #1 AI Sales Agent for eCommerce." It is made for Shopify merchants: the site says it is "Built for Shopify," calls itself the "#1 Shopify chat platform," and claims "5,000+ stores chatting monthly" and a "4.9 rating." Chatty's pitch is selling rather than ticket handling. The home page says "AI that knows your products, recommends the right ones, and sells 24/7 - so you never miss a sale." Its tagline under the headline is "One AI agent. Every customer," followed by the promise that every question is answered and every sale closed at the same time.

What you build and how

You do not design a conversation in Chatty. You connect a store and the agent learns it. The FAQ is direct about setup: "Setup takes under 10 minutes with zero coding required. Chatty automatically syncs with your Shopify store and learns your entire product catalog overnight. Just connect, enable the chat widget, and your AI salesperson is ready to work." The company says most merchants see their first AI-generated sale within 24 hours. A section headed "Set up & run in minutes" sums up the routine as connect, train, and start selling.

What the agent knows is described in commercial terms: "Chatty learns all products, prices, and policies in one night. And never forgets." The FAQ says it understands sizing, compatibility, and which products work together, and that it gets smarter every day. The company also says Chatty "sees more than just chat messages," because it "tracks browsing behaviors, and purchase history to understand what customers really want." On the company blog, the co-founder and CPO describes the assistant as "powered by ChatGPT-4, trained on your store," and lists proactive automation for lead capture and FAQs alongside it.

The selling happens inside the chat. The home page says "Chatty spots upsell opportunities and suggests complementary products during conversations" and that the AI "suggests products right in chat." Because the agent keeps working when your team is not, the pitch includes "Stop losing sales when you're offline," and the copy adds that the AI keeps selling 24/7 with "No break. No vacation."

The industry pages show what that knowledge looks like for different catalogs. For fashion and apparel the site names size guides, style matching and outfit recommendations; for beauty and cosmetics, skin matching, routine builders and shade finders; for home and furniture, room fit, material guides and assembly support; for sports and outdoors, gear sizing, activity matching and compatibility; and for tech and electronics, spec comparisons, compatibility and setup guides. A live demo is offered per industry.

Chatty is more than the agent. The product menu lists the AI Sales Agent, an Inbox ("Manage conversations"), Omnichannel ("Chat, email, messenger,..."), and a Help center, described as a knowledge base that deflects questions. The site's marketing line for these is "Plus everything you expect from chat software": the Inbox is pitched as handling more conversations in less time, Omnichannel as "One inbox to rule them all," and the Help center as a 24/7 knowledge hub where "Customers get answers, you get time back." The blog post lists the unified inbox as covering live chat, email, Messenger and WhatsApp, plus a customizable FAQ hub and one-click order tracking on web and mobile. Named integrations on the home page are Shopify, Zendesk and Klaviyo, with an all-integrations page linked.

The site also hosts free tools, a canned response library and a prompt and instruction library, which are free to copy with no signup. A product roadmap page tracks what is new, and a help center carries setup docs, tutorials and FAQs.

A letter to the company's own team on the home page, signed by Drake, frames the strategy: "We're not improving customer service. We're creating the future of conversational commerce." It contrasts tools that "Answer questions faster" with Chatty's aim to "Turn questions into sales." It is a statement of intent more than a feature, but it explains why the product is organized around conversion.

What the pages state

The performance numbers are the company's: "$61M+ assisted revenue," "7.4% of every chat ends in a sale," and "95% handled without your team." The home page quotes a customer: "We expected basic FAQ automation," admits Decathlon's manager. "What we got was a sales assistant that works alongside our team 24/7." These are claims on the vendor's own site, and a section of video reviews sits under the heading "See how others review about Chatty."

Pricing on the home page is 2 named plans. It lists "Free $0," described as "Essential tools & basic AI for new stores," and "Pro From $68.99," described as "Complete platform & advanced AI for growing stores." A blog post from the company, dated October 2025, describes the pricing as 4 tiers: a free plan, then $19.99 a month for SMBs, topping out at $199 with unlimited team members and advanced analytics, and it says nothing is billed per seat. The home page and the blog post give different paid entry prices, so read the plan pages before budgeting.

The FAQ explains how usage is billed: "You get included AI replies with your plan. If you need more, you pay a small fee per extra reply. But you control your budget," and you can "set spending limits so costs never surprise you." It adds that "No hidden fees" apply, that "Most stores stay within their included replies," and that the per-reply cost "actually gets cheaper with higher plans." The home page does not give the number of included replies or the price of an extra one.

The home page offers several ways in: a free "Get started" button, "View demo," a booked demo, and a free product tour with the team. An interactive demo of how Chatty gets ready for sales loads from Arcade Software only when you ask for it. On product knowledge, the FAQ says the AI "often knows your products better than new staff," which is a marketing line rather than a measured result.

The footer links pages for terms of service, privacy, cookies, sub-processors, AI compliance and account deletion, and contact runs through an email address and a contact form.

Who it suits and who it does not

Chatty fits a Shopify store, especially in fashion, beauty, home, sports or electronics, where shoppers ask about sizing, fit and compatibility before buying, and where the owner would rather have an agent recommend products than only answer tickets. Setup in under 10 minutes with no code suits an owner without a developer, the free plan gives a way to try it, and pricing that the blog says is not billed per seat helps a store with several people on the inbox.

It is not a general chatbot builder. The agent is built around a Shopify catalog, so a business on another platform, or one that needs a bot for internal questions or custom flows, is outside what the site describes. The company's own words are "We create sales, not support," and a team whose main goal is clearing a ticket backlog will use only part of what it pays for. And since extra replies are billed per reply, a busy store should set the spending limit the FAQ mentions on day one.
