What Chatim Is

Chatim is a live chat and chatbot platform for websites. You talk to visitors yourself when you are online, and a chatbot covers the conversation when you are not. The homepage frames it as covering every conversation, from live chat to AI, and describes one product that combines live chat, a chatbot builder, a CRM, analytics and help desk features. It suits founders, freelancers and small support or sales teams who want a chat widget on their own site and a bot they can set up without writing code.

What You Build and How

What you build with Chatim is a chat presence on your website: a widget that visitors see, a bot that answers when nobody is at the keyboard, and an inbox where your team picks up the rest.

The chatbot builder. The company says Chatim "offers both rule-based and AI-powered chatbot automation". You create bots in a drag-and-drop builder with no coding. The site describes the starting point as simple rule-based bots that handle common questions, and the upgrade path as AI-powered automation as the business grows. According to the site, a bot can handle common questions, qualify leads, schedule appointments and transfer the conversation to a human agent when needed. It works 24/7, including when your team is offline. How deep the builder goes is something to test on the free plan.

Live chat. The live side lets you talk to visitors in real time when they have a question. Teams are invited with Admin or Manager roles, receive push notifications for new chats, can assign conversations, and manage everything from one dashboard. When you are offline, the widget can collect messages and contact information, which are saved in your inbox for follow-up. The agent dashboard runs in any mobile browser, and email notifications tell you about new chats and leads, so you can answer from a phone.

The widget. The company calls its widget lightweight and says it is optimized for speed and Core Web Vitals, loading "without slowing down your website or hurting SEO rankings". It is responsive and adapts to desktop, tablet and mobile. You can customize colors, button shapes, avatars, positioning and auto-open timing, and the FAQ adds size and greeting messages to that list. For a site owner who cares about page speed, that is a real selling point, though the pages give no load-time figures.

Developer hooks. 2 features go beyond the point-and-click side. The Widget SDK is a JavaScript API that controls the widget programmatically: you can pass custom user data, trigger events and build custom launchers, and the site says it works with React, Vue and Next.js. Webhooks send real-time notifications when events happen, such as new chats, messages or leads, so data can be pushed to Slack, a CRM or any custom backend automatically. Those are the integrations the pages actually name. They describe plugins for WordPress, Shopify and other popular platforms, but give no count and no list beyond those 2 names.

Analytics. The analytics dashboard tracks visitor trends, browser and device breakdown, referral sources and conversation volume. The site frames this as data for decisions about how the chat is performing.

Installation. Setup happens by adding a code snippet to your site. The company says you can install Chatim in under 5 minutes, and that on WordPress, Shopify or other popular platforms installation is easier with plugins. After that you can customize the widget and create chatbots right away.

What the Pages Say About Plans, Security and Support

Pricing. The pages publish no prices. They state that Chatim offers a free plan that includes essential live chat and basic chatbot features, that you can start for free with no credit card required, and that you can upgrade to premium plans "for advanced features like AI automation, unlimited chatbots, and priority support". Premium plan names, price points and chat or agent limits are not stated on the pages.

What the free plan means in practice. The wording is "essential live chat and basic chatbot features". Because AI automation and unlimited chatbots are listed as premium features, the free plan is a place to test the drag-and-drop builder and the live chat inbox, and the pages place AI-powered bots on the paid side.

Security and data. The company states that Chatim uses industry-standard encryption to protect all data and "is built to support GDPR compliance". All conversations and customer information are stored securely, and you have full control over your data. The company says it does not sell customer data and shares it only with the service providers listed in its Privacy Policy.

Other content on the site. Chatim also publishes comparison guides on its blog, for example alternatives to Freshchat and to Landbot. Those are written about other products and are not evidence about Chatim's own plans, so nothing from them is used here.

Support. Priority support is listed as a premium feature.

Who It Suits, and Who It Does Not

Chatim suits a founder or a small team that wants live chat and a bot on the same website without buying 2 tools. The free plan with no credit card is a low-risk way to check that the widget looks right on your site and that the drag-and-drop builder handles your common questions. The SDK and webhooks give a developer on the team room to connect chat events to Slack or a CRM, and the performance claims will matter to anyone whose site is judged on Core Web Vitals. A team that wants a bot to book appointments or qualify leads will find both named as bot capabilities.

It is a narrower fit in a few cases. If you need to know a price before you start, the pages do not state one for any paid plan. If you need a long list of named native integrations, the pages name WordPress, Shopify, Slack and webhooks rather than a catalog. If your decision hinges on AI details such as which models run or how the bot is trained on your content, the pages state only that the AI mode exists. And a team that needs more than the Admin and Manager roles the pages describe should confirm what permissions exist. For a single website that needs a chat widget plus a simple bot, it covers the ground the pages describe.
