Chatclient is a builder for custom AI agents, and its FAQ describes it as a tool that "trains ChatGPT on your data, and lets you easily add a chat widget to your website". It is written for small and mid-sized businesses that want an agent to handle customer support, lead generation and user engagement on their own site. Its footer tagline reads "Custom ChatGPT for your business".

What you build and how

You build one thing here: an AI agent that answers questions from your content. The home page lays it out in 3 steps. First you import your data, whether that is a website URL, PDFs, doc files or plain text. Second you customize the agent's behavior and appearance. Third you embed it on your website and connect it to your tools. The company says you can have a first agent running "in a matter of minutes not months".

The data layer is a set of sources you feed the agent. The FAQ says you can upload one or several files in .pdf.txt.csv or .docx format, paste text, or add a link to your website to be scraped. The features list calls this "Multiple Data Sources". An "Auto-Retrain" feature lets you set the agent to retrain automatically so it stays in sync with your data, which matters when pricing or product pages change.

Behavior is controlled through instructions. The FAQ says you can edit the instructions in settings, give the agent a name, define its personality traits and set rules for answering, with the example "only answer in Spanish". The appearance side is covered by "Customizations", which lets you match the agent's look and feel to your brand and website design. Under "Powerful AI Models" the page says you can pick from a variety of models, naming GPT-5.4, Claude Sonnet 5 and Gemini 3.5 Flash.

Language support is a headline feature. The page promises 95+ languages and says your customers can be reached in their native language even if your source data is in another one. The FAQ repeats it: you can have sources in any language and ask questions in any language.

Publishing is by embed or API. The FAQ says you can embed an iframe or add a chat bubble to the bottom right of your website by creating an agent and clicking "Embed on website". You can also use the API to talk to your agent anywhere. A use-case card describes "Multi-platform Agents" that you add to a website, a mobile app or another platform with an embed code or the API. The integrations list names Slack, WhatsApp and Zapier "and more", and a post on the company's blog describes connecting an agent to your backend API or custom workflows through the Chatclient API, to streamline data ingestion and training.

Four use cases appear on the home page:

  • Lead generation, where the agent collects and qualifies leads while keeping the experience personal.
  • Human hand off, where customers can escalate to your support team if they are unhappy with AI answers. A banner at the top of the page says Human Escalation is live on the Pro plan.
  • AI personas, where you create personas around any topic and have them engage your users.
  • Multi-platform agents, as above.

Teams are a visible part of the account area. The header shows a Teams menu with a "Create team" button and a "Buy Whitelabel" option. The Whitelabel feature is described as removing Chatclient branding and using a custom domain, which is the route for agencies that deploy agents under a client's name. The page also lists two free tools beside the product, a URL Extractor and an LLM API Pricing Calculator.

On privacy, the Privacy & Security feature says customer data is hosted on secure servers with encryption and access control.

The evidence from the pages

The FAQ says signing up automatically gives you a free plan with 15 message credits and 1 agent, "a great way to test out Chatclient". The home page also says "7 - day free trial cancel Anytime", personalized onboarding help and "friendly pricing as you scale". A post on the company's blog says Chatclient's pricing starts at $12 per month and lists YouTube video transcription and PDF document summarization among its features. The navigation also links a Pricing page and an Affiliate program. A "Book a Demo" button sits next to "Try Chatclient for free", so larger teams have a sales route.

The company makes a few claims about results. The headline says "Reduce customer support by 90% with custom AI Agents", and the closing section says the product "basically pays for itself". Both are marketing statements and the page gives no method behind the 90% figure.

3 testimonials appear. Jon Haase, CEO of PyImageSearch, says engagement and satisfaction rose after he added the agent to his site. Joshua David, Co-Founder and CEO at SETVI, describes round-the-clock autonomous support. Herbert Uhl, a board member at brightfin, says his team trained an agent within seconds on its own website data and documents. These are testimonials on the company's site, not independent reviews.

The same blog post adds detail on the support side: it describes chat message management and escalation to human agents, with visitors able to leave their contact details so a person can follow up, and it lists easy updates and retraining among the product's strengths.

Who it suits and who it does not

Chatclient fits a business that already has a documentation site, a PDF handbook or a set of FAQs and wants a support or lead-capture agent on its website quickly. The free plan and the 7-day trial make it cheap to test on real content. A support team serving several languages gets the 95+ language claim, and an agency can look at the white-label option with a custom domain.

The caveats are straightforward. The agent knows what you feed it, so thin or messy source material gives thin answers. The free plan's 15 message credits allow a test and little more, and Human Escalation sits on the Pro plan, so a support team that needs hand-off pays from the start. The product is built around one agent answering from your content, through an embed or the API, rather than around designing multi-step conversation flows.
