What Boei is

Boei is an AI chatbot builder for small businesses, startups and agencies, and its homepage calls it an "AI Front Office for modern businesses". You train an agent on your own website and documents, and it answers customers, captures leads and carries on with the work that follows the question, across your website, WhatsApp and email. The site says it speaks 95+ languages and is EU-hosted. It is built for the owner or small team who wants customer conversations handled without hiring a support desk or writing a bot from scratch.

What you can build and how

The editor is a teaching loop rather than a flow canvas. The site lays it out as 5 steps: Train, Configure, Test, Deploy and Improve. Nothing in the described workflow asks for code or prompt writing.

Training sources. You point Boei at material you already have. The site lists a website auto-crawl, uploaded PDFs and documents such as manuals and brochures, knowledge base articles synced from Notion, Confluence, Zendesk, HubSpot and more, product and pricing data such as catalogs, price lists and eligibility rules, and past support ticket history. The result is described as a private knowledge base you control, kept in sync as your business changes. You can also add instructions, tone of voice, house rules and specific question and answer pairs, with "no prompt engineering".

What the agent does. The homepage splits the work into answering and acting. On the answering side it lists price calculations, lead qualification, eligibility checks, estimate timelines and comparing options. On the acting side it lists preparing quotes, booking appointments, updating the CRM, triggering workflows and sending follow-ups. A demo conversation on the page shows a visitor asking for a quote on a 20 m2 garden room, sending a floor plan, receiving an estimate and getting a site visit booked, with the lead saved to the CRM and a calendar invite sent. The pitch is that the bot completes the customer's task instead of handing a form back to them.

Channels and placement. On the website you can choose a floating widget, embedded chat, a full-page assistant, embedded forms, a contact launcher or a channel selector. Behind them sit live chat, website chat on any page, the WhatsApp Business API, and email, both inbound and outbound. The site's phrase is "One agent. One memory. One history": a customer who writes from the website and then follows up on WhatsApp gets one continuous conversation, and your team sees one shared history. Boei's comparison posts put the channel count at 50+.

Improving the agent. After launch you review real conversations, rate answers, flag misses and add corrections, and each review becomes training data. The platform surfaces the questions it could not answer confidently, so you know what to add to the knowledge base. Instructions, tone and rules can be edited directly, and the site says changes take effect on the next message.

Developers and agencies. The navigation lists a Developers and API section, a partner program for agencies and an affiliate program, along with setup guides, a help center and a set of free tools. The pages shown do not describe the API's scope, so check it before planning an integration.

The evidence from the pages

Price. The company's comparison posts state that Boei costs $19/month with the AI chatbot, WhatsApp and 50+ channels included, and the line appears again in a post about Kommunicate alternatives: "AI, live chat, CRM, WhatsApp, and 50+ channels from $19/month". The pages shown name no plan tiers, no conversation or message limits and no annual discount, so the limits behind the $19 are something to confirm on the pricing page.

Trial. The homepage offers a 7-day free trial with no credit card, and says you can be live in minutes. It does not describe a free plan.

Scale and ratings. The site says it is trusted by 17,000+ businesses worldwide and shows G2 4.8/5, Capterra 4.7/5 and GetApp 4.8/5. A reviewer quoted as a verified G2 review says the AI "actually answers customer questions from our own content instead of dumping them into a generic form" and that setup took under an hour.

Data handling. The site lists EU-hosted, GDPR-compliant, "Your data never trains AI models" and a full audit trail. It names no other certification.

How the company prices its rivals. Boei's own comparison posts list competitor prices, and they are worth reading as the company's framing rather than a neutral survey. The Tidio alternatives post lists Crisp at Free, $45/mo and a $295/mo plan, with its AI bundled into the $295 tier. It lists tawk.to as free for live chat with a $29/month AI add-on, LiveChat at $20 per agent, Intercom Essential at $29 per seat plus $0.99 per Fin resolution, Freshchat at $15 per agent with AI and WhatsApp as add-ons, Chatbase at $40/mo or $32/mo billed annually, and Zendesk Chat from $55 per agent. The pattern the posts argue is that per-agent or per-resolution pricing climbs with a team, while Boei's price covers AI and channels from the start.

Who it suits

A founder or small service business that fields questions about price, availability and eligibility before a booking will see the point quickly. The garden room demo is the clearest example: the bot qualifies the lead, produces an estimate range and books the visit, and the owner finds it in the CRM. The 7-day trial with no card lets you test it on your own site content before paying.

An operations or support team already living in Notion, Confluence, Zendesk or HubSpot can sync those articles in instead of rewriting them, and the conversation review loop gives the team a clear way to correct the agent over time. Agencies get a dedicated partner program and an agencies solutions page, though the pages shown do not spell out its terms.

It suits less well a team that needs a visual flow canvas with branching logic you draw yourself, since the site describes teaching by sources, rules and review rather than diagrams. It also suits less well anyone who needs a named compliance standard such as SOC 2: the pages mention GDPR and EU hosting and nothing more. Because the agent answers from the content you give it, a business with thin documentation will start with a shallow knowledge base and need to fill the gaps the review screen reports. Finally, the pages shown publish one starting price and no plan breakdown, so a larger team should confirm what sits behind $19 before committing.
