What Asks is

Asks is an AI agent builder for customer support and customer experience, aimed at e-commerce shops, clinics, hotels, schools, salons, restaurants and other teams that field the same customer questions every day. The company's FAQ describes it as an AI agent trained on your website, products and help center, plus live chat, a shared team inbox and ticketing in one place. The footer names the company as asksdotapp, LLC, and the site shows "Meta Verified Tech Provider" and Shopify App Store badges.

What you build and how

You build one agent, and the site's line for it is "trained once on your business." The setup the pages describe is short: paste your website URL, let the agent learn, connect a channel and start answering customers. The company says most teams are live in about 15 minutes, and the hero line under the main button says "live in ~10 minutes". It adds that no code and no engineers are required. Training sources are website pages by URL (crawled with a JavaScript-rendering crawler), documents and PDFs, and articles you write inside the app. The page counts every page, file or article you add as one knowledge base article.

The agent plays three roles and switches between them mid-conversation. The support agent handles orders, refunds and troubleshooting, grounded in your policies, with sources cited. The sales agent recommends from the live catalog, clears objections and walks customers to checkout. The experience agent books appointments, qualifies leads, guides onboarding and follows up. The site says it does not just answer, it acts, and it describes custom actions you configure plus API access and outbound webhooks on higher plans.

Grounding is the main design claim. Every answer carries citations to the sources it used, and when your content does not support an answer the agent says so and hands the conversation to your team with a full summary and context. You can tune escalation rules per channel and business hours. The company says the agent replies in the customer's language, naming Spanish, Portuguese and French among dozens more, even when your website is written in English.

Channels named on the pages are WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Telegram, Slack and Discord, plus a web widget and email support, and customers are recognized across channels so no conversation starts from zero. The company counts 8 channels feeding one team inbox.

The inbox is where the human side lives. The site lists assignment, internal notes, canned responses, tags, SLAs and customer profiles, with AI summaries so a teammate picks up a thread with context. A "Take over" control lets a person step into a conversation the AI is handling. The product pages break the suite into an AI chatbot for your website, AI email support, an AI help desk with ticketing, SLAs and CSAT, and the shared inbox. For Shopify, the site describes a storefront app with live shopper context, catalog answers, cart and checkout links and order tracking.

Developers get two exits. Business adds API access and outbound webhooks, and Premium adds Agent-as-API (MCP) and AI evals. Starter already includes 5 custom actions and 1 MCP server. You shape the agent with content, rules and actions rather than by drawing a flow diagram. The home page demo shows what that looks like for a skincare shop: a customer asks where order #4682 is and whether a serum suits sensitive skin, and the agent looks up the order through a carrier API and answers the product question from the Shopify catalog in the same reply.

The evidence from the pages

Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial, "no card needed," and the company says there are no per-resolution fees. Monthly prices below are the yearly-billing rate, which the page says saves 20%.

  • Starter, $31 a month ($372 billed yearly; the FAQ gives $39 month-to-month): 10 team members, 500 AI credits a month, 300 knowledge base articles, all channels and the team inbox, 5 custom actions, 1 MCP server, weekly website sync and 90-day analytics.
  • Business, $119 a month ($1,428 billed yearly): everything in Starter plus 25 team members, 4,000 AI credits, 1,000 knowledge base articles, daily website re-syncs, API access and outbound webhooks, SLA tracking and advanced analytics, 15 custom actions and 365-day analytics.
  • Premium, $279 a month ($3,348 billed yearly): 50 team members, 10,000 AI credits, 3,000 knowledge base articles, an Ultra AI model tier, Asks branding removed, and Agent-as-API (MCP) with AI evals.
  • Enterprise, custom pricing on annual contracts: SAML SSO, custom credits and limits, a dedicated account manager, SLA guarantees and flexible invoicing, billed directly and not through the Shopify App Store.

Billed month to month, another page of the site gives the three paid plans as a flat $39, $149 and $349 per month "with AI credits included". The same page's FAQ describes a Free plan at $0 with no credit card that does not expire, with 50 AI credits as a one-time balance that does not reset monthly, 1 teammate and 50 knowledge base articles.

On the pricing logic, the company says every plan includes a monthly allowance of AI credits, with "no per-resolution fees, no commission on the sales it closes", and that the human inbox and seats come with every tier.

The company's own numbers appear on the home page: tickets reaching the team down 68%, customer satisfaction at 90%, and 24/7 coverage. These are the company's claims and the page does not say how they were measured. On security, the FAQ says data is encrypted in transit and at rest, is never used to train models for other customers, and can be exported or deleted at any time. The navigation points to a Trust Center for "Security, privacy, and compliance", and the footer links separate GDPR, DPA, Subprocessors and Security pages. For agencies and enterprise buyers, the Enterprise tier adds SAML SSO and SLA guarantees.

Who it suits and who it does not

Asks fits an e-commerce or service business that wants one tool for the bot and the people behind it: AI answering, live chat and a shared inbox under one subscription. A 5 to 25 person support team with WhatsApp and Instagram traffic is the clear target, as is a clinic or salon that wants bookings handled after hours.

It fits less well if you want to design branching conversation flows, since the agent is steered by content and rules. Credits are the unit to watch: Starter includes 500 AI credits a month, and the 7-day trial is the place to see how fast your real volume uses them. Branding removal sits on Premium, which matters for agencies. The cheapest paid plan at $31 a month is also a lot for a solo founder with a handful of weekly questions.
