What it is

Amio is an AI chatbot builder for online stores. Its home page headline is "AI chatbot platform built for e-commerce", with the promise to "build AI shopping assistants that automate support, drive sales chats, and boost product discoverability". The company describes it as "an AI chatbot platform powered by GPT, offering a custom knowledge base, intuitive user interface, and integrations with help desks". It is written for e-commerce teams and customer support leads. A "When to choose Amio" list names the fit directly: "You are a mid-market e-commerce brand", "You want GPT-native AI with fast time-to-value" and "You need product catalog and order integration". The demo form also offers banking and insurance as business types next to e-commerce.

What you build and how

Amio lays the build out in three steps, and each step maps to a part of the product.

Step 1, import data. The chatbot "will operate on top of your data". You can upload files, add product feeds, "or even crawl the web with regular data auto-refresh". The feature table spells out the feed as an XML file with product details, descriptions and stock availability. The product menu groups these as the "AI knowledge base" with "Feeds, scraping, pdf, etc.", and the feature table lists documents ("PDF, CSV, etc."), web scraping and product feeds as its three sources.

Step 2, customize the chatbot. You "instruct AI how it should answer", set your copywriting and tone of voice, set predefined answers, define product discovery questions, and change the look of the chat widget. The menu calls this the "Conversational designer", with the tagline "Build fast with no-code". The feature table fills it in: predefined answers to specified topics, chatbot templates as a "Pre-configured chatbot for a quick start", chatbot cloning, reusable conversational blocks, chat events as "Triggers for proactive outreach, welcome messages, and more", and variables such as an email address or opening hours that can be reused across the conversational flow. Prompt design, "Instruct the chatbot on how it should respond", is the core AI control, the model is listed as GPT-4o, and the company says you can "fully customize GPT parameters".

AI behavior. The feature table lists conversational context ("AI considers chat history in answers"), multilingual support and page context ("AI considers the customer's location on the web"). It also lists a shopping assistant that "gathers relevant information from the customer and guides them to the appropriate products or product section". The home page describes it as a "Virtual shopping assistant" with product discovery, proactive outreach and "access to all products", and the Amio pages promise "accurate answers".

Step 3, integrate and deploy. You "integrate AI chatbot with your e-commerce platform, helpdesk, and Google Tag Manager", get data from your systems, and "deploy in minutes". A feature page headline claims "1-Click Integration". The home page names four e-commerce platforms: Shopify, WordPress, WooCommerce and Magento. It names four helpdesk connectors: Zendesk, Gorgias, Freshdesk and Freshchat, and the footer adds Front. An integrations strip on the home page shows Freshdesk, Daktela, Zendesk, Shopify, Genesys and Salesforce, and Salesforce also appears among the helpdesk connectors. A further list headed "We understand your business on" names Shoptet, PrestaShop, SquareSpace, Adobe Commerce, Wix eCommerce, BigCommerce, WooCommerce and Shopify. The feature table adds a generic connector that links to any help desk through email, and an email fallback that transfers the conversation to email for a live agent.

Channels. The feature table lists webchat, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and mobile in-app chat. The home page says "Web-chat & in-app chat" and "WhatsApp, Messenger, etc.", with 24/7 availability, unlimited chats at the same time, multi-channel support and escalation to a live agent.

Analytics. Listed metrics are number of chats, user feedback and hand over to a live agent. An "Extended Analytics" section promises "key insights that help you improve and optimize your chatbot's performance", and the product menu calls it "Chatbot analytics: Insights for chatbot improvements".

Developer resources. The resources menu lists a blog, documentation ("Setup & support"), a status page ("Real-time service updates") and an API reference ("Integrate with ease").

For the shopper, the result is a chat widget on the store or a message thread on a messaging channel that answers from your catalog and policies, and can pass the conversation to a person.

The evidence from the pages

Pricing. Prices and plan names sit on a separate Pricing page; the home page shows none. Two buttons appear throughout: "Start free" and "Request a demo". The footer links an ROI calculator, and the company also offers a 30-minute session with a conversational AI expert "where we will both find out how chatbot can help you decrease call center costs and improve customer experience".

Headline claims. Under "Why choose Amio AI chatbot?" the home page lists "60%+ cost savings", "3x online conversions", "5* customer service" and a "4.9 software rating". The feature table adds "100 % accurate answers", "3x online Conversion" and "100+ e-shops trust Amio". The FAQ says Amio offers "60-90% automation rates". These are the company's claims, and the pages give no method for any of them. The "100%" figure in particular is a headline, so test your own questions before relying on it.

Customer voices. The home page features Datart (datart.cz), whose call center "shifted focus on sales requests while chatbot automates the rest", with a "76 % automation rate" and "22 % deflection from phones and emails" on the web-chat channel, plus a fallback to support e-mail. Those figures belong to that one deployment. Vladimir Krejcir, Head of Call Center, says "Thanks to Amio chatbot, we've discovered new and faster approaches to support our customers." Nevena Djorovic, a Customer Care Team Leader, writes "It was very easy to set up the bot, their team is really professional and onboarding was great." Jan Neuvirt, a COO, says "Amio is the first chatbot that brought us significant and real cost savings."

Legal and compliance. The footer links a DPA (data processing agreement) and a page titled "EU AI Act Compliance", alongside the terms of service and privacy policy.

Who it suits and who it does not

Amio suits an e-commerce team on Shopify, WooCommerce, WordPress or Magento that wants a shopping assistant trained on its own product feed and site, with a handoff to Zendesk, Gorgias, Freshdesk or Freshchat when a human is needed. It also suits a support lead who wants customers served on WhatsApp or Messenger as well as on the site. The no-code designer means a store operator, not a developer, can set tone, predefined answers and product discovery questions.

It is a narrower match for a team that wants a general-purpose bot builder for internal tools or lead forms, because everything here is shaped around a store catalog, orders and support handoff. The building model is AI-first, with prompt design, predefined answers and reusable blocks rather than a large rule-based flow canvas. The accuracy and conversion figures are vendor claims, so the "Start free" route is the place to test them on your own catalog.
