Nutrient Workflow
Tap a star to rate
Nutrient Workflow is a no-code workflow platform from Nutrient, a company the site says is built on 20+ years of document expertise. Its own FAQ describes it as a platform that "transforms manual, document-heavy tasks into streamlined, scalable, and auditable workflows". It is written for operations, finance and IT teams that run approvals such as capital expenditure (CapEx) requests, budgeting and document sign-off, and that want business users to build those processes without writing code. The pages shown do not give a head office location.
What you build and how
The overview page splits the product into a handful of tools that work together.
Process Builder. You "map out logic, roles, and routing with drag-and-drop ease", including approvals, escalations and SLAs. The page lists parallel and conditional paths, group and role-based assignments, and deadline enforcement and alerts. This is the visual flow editor where an approval matrix or a document approval is drawn.
Form Designer. You create "smart, validated forms" with a drag-and-drop field builder, prefilled fields, conditional logic and real-time validation. A site article on low-code platforms adds that form logic can hide fields, pre-populate fields and dynamically display objects, and that the rendered forms are mobile-friendly for use in the field. Forms are the usual start of a process, since most processes begin with someone filling in a form.
Mobile app. Native apps for iOS and Android give people access to forms, tasks and documents on the go, with in-app approvals and comments, push notifications for tasks and alerts, and offline form support with syncing. The FAQ adds secure login and role-based access.
Reporting. A built-in reporting tool gives "real-time visibility into task statuses, overdue items, and SLA breaches", with exportable dashboards and audit-ready logs.
Documents. What sets Nutrient apart is the document layer. The FAQ says the core offering includes Process Builder, Form Designer, document viewing, reporting and the mobile app, and that these are "always included, no extra licensing required". Premium add-ons cover document generation, markup and collaboration, editing, signing and intelligent document processing, and you can add them at any time. The overview describes this as letting you "generate, edit, sign and extract data from documents".
AI agents. The overview calls out "agentic workflows": purpose-built AI agents that "generate forms, evaluate policies, and accelerate decisions at scale". The home page lists AI Data Extraction and AI Agents next to Process Builder and Form Designer under Workflow Automation, and its describing line is "prebuilt, no-code apps for document-heavy work, with governance and human review". For routing it offers "conditional routing, approvals, and audit trails, or keep AI out of it entirely", so AI steps are optional.
Code, extensions and data
You do not need to write code. The FAQ says processes, smart forms and workflow launches are built in a drag-and-drop interface, and that "advanced users can add scripting and integrations, but it's optional". The home page's integration section says workflows can connect to CRM, ERP, HRIS and database systems, trigger external APIs and microservices, and start from inbound webhooks, with custom connectors for proprietary systems. It names SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL and Oracle as databases you can pull data from. The pages do not describe a built-in database for your own records or a way to publish a public-facing app, since the product is built around internal processes.
Integrations, hosting and access
The FAQ says you can connect Nutrient to systems such as SharePoint, Salesforce and SAP through native integrations or APIs. The home page names Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Power Automate and Teams), Salesforce and ServiceNow as platform integrations. Access control covers SSO, SCIM and custom roles, and the home page lists SAML, OAuth 2.0, Azure AD, Okta and LDAP for authentication. Deployment is flexible: the overview says the core features are available across all major deployment models, "from cloud-hosted to self-managed", and the offer is cloud APIs, managed hosting or an on-premises setup. The home page also mentions cloud, self-hosted or air-gapped deployment, with proxy and firewall configurations, custom SSL certificates, VPN and private network deployment, and audit logging with SIEM integration.
The overview also lists popular process types: approvals matrix, BPMS, budgeting process, CapEx approval, CapEx automation, document approval and task automation. It gives no count of templates.
What the pages state
Pricing is not published. The overview does offer a free trial: "Build, automate, and launch, no credit card required". The trial length, user limits and plan names are not stated on the pages, and the free trial should not be confused with a free plan.
The overview carries three customer stories. In the first, a capital finance team digitized approvals and compliance tracking; 150 employees now process hundreds of projects with SAP integration, full SOX compliance and approvals that complete in a single day instead of weeks. In the second, global CapEx approvals were digitized on Nutrient Workflow's cloud solution, with full audit compliance, real-time reporting and mobile approvals across sites. In the third, CapEx, HR, IT and safety processes were automated across all locations, with standardized approvals and digitized safety reporting. The pages shown do not name the customers.
On security, the home page says the cloud APIs are fully managed hosting that is "SOC 2 Type 2 audited", available in US and EU regions. That statement is made in the cloud API section, so confirm with the company what it covers for Workflow. The site's time-to-value claim for this product is that "Workflow has business teams launching automated approval processes in days, not quarters". For the developer side of the company, the home page mentions sample applications in multiple languages, an active developer community and support forums.
Who it suits and who it does not
Nutrient Workflow suits a finance, operations or IT team that wants to replace email and spreadsheet approvals with tracked workflows, especially where documents travel with the request and need to be viewed, annotated, signed or have data extracted. The customer stories cluster around CapEx, which makes it a natural candidate for similar approval-heavy departments. IT teams that need on-premises or self-managed hosting, SSO and integration with SharePoint, Salesforce or SAP will find those options listed.
It is less suited to a solo founder or small team that wants to launch a customer-facing app, a website or a store, because the pages describe internal approval processes and documents, not public publishing. Some document features, such as signing and generation, are paid add-ons, and the site does not publish pricing, so a buyer should ask early what the total package costs. Finally, the company sells document developer tools as well as this product, so teams that only want a workflow builder should check that they land on the Workflow pages rather than the SDK material.
