What Manifestly is
Manifestly is a workflow and SOP platform for recurring work. Its home page says it will "turn SOPs and recurring checklists into assigned workflows with deadlines, reminders, data capture, and audit-ready history." It is built for operations teams that run the same process again and again, such as employee onboarding, customer onboarding, IT provisioning, property inspections or month-end accounting, and for the managers who have to prove the work was done. It is a process automation tool in the checklist-and-approvals tradition, not an app builder: you model a process, assign it, and track each run.
What you build and how
The editor and the logic. You build a workflow as a checklist of steps. Conditional logic lets you "show or hide steps, set dynamic due dates, and route assignments based on real-time form data," according to the company's FAQ. Multi-stage approvals and role-based assignments sit on top of that, so a step can be sent to a reviewer and held until sign-off. For documentation, you can add text, links, images and videos to a checklist so it doubles as the SOP your team follows.
Runs and scheduling. A workflow is a template, and each time someone starts it you get a run. The feature list names Workflows, Runs and Scheduled Runs, and it adds QuickLists for ad-hoc tasks that do not need a full template. Recurring work is the center of the product, and the Workflow Scheduling feature creates those runs on a schedule. Run imports are listed as a feature, which matters if you are moving history from another tool.
Data collection. Steps can collect forms, photos, files, sign-offs and required data as the work happens. The home page frames this as "capture proof," so the completed run is also the record that an inspection, a review or a handoff took place.
Automation and API. The company says Manifestly "gives unlimited native automations and API access in every plan." Besides native automations, the integrations list names Zapier, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Notion, Salesforce, Claude and ChatGPT, and the feature list includes a REST API and webhooks. The company describes a full Slack app where you can launch runs, complete tasks, send reminders and manage your team inside Slack. A Teams integration with actions is listed too.
AI. The comparison page lists an AI workflow generator and "AI-assisted workflow creation (NEW)." The home page also says the product is designed to work with the AI agents a team already uses, listing Claude as an official connector alongside ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot and Gemini, with permissions, assignments and audit history staying inside Manifestly.
People and permissions. The roles are Admin, User, Member and Limited, plus optional guest users, so a client or outside reviewer can take part without a full account. The FAQ describes granular access to workflows, runs and steps, and the collaboration list adds inline comments, @mentions and one-click bulk reminders. SAML SSO with Okta, Azure AD and other identity providers is on the feature list and is part of the Enterprise upgrade described below, and the home page also lists Workflow Versioning so SOP updates roll out consistently.
Reporting. Customizable dashboards, a searchable activity log, exportable history and reporting with data exports are all on the feature list. The company calls out searchable audit trails and dashboards as included out of the box.
Publishing and hosting. Manifestly is a hosted web service. There is no end-user app publishing, no custom-domain site builder and no code export on the site, which fits a tool whose "end user" is a teammate completing a checklist.
Plans, limits and proof
The company's comparison page states a Business plan at $10 per user per month and an Enterprise upgrade at $20 per user per month, which adds SSO, custom branding and SMS notifications. The same page says "all plans include unlimited workflows, runs, and assignments." It also offers a free trial: 14 days, no card required, with full access. The page does not describe a permanent free plan.
Migration from another tool is free on all annual plans, according to the same page: the company's support team imports the workflows, its success team checks the migration and trains your team, and it says most teams are fully migrated within 2 to 3 business days, including workflow import, QA and user onboarding. It also says the responsive design loads in under 2 seconds on mobile.
On security, the home page says Manifestly is "SOC 2 Type II compliant" and independently audited every year, with a scope of security, availability and confidentiality. The comparison page adds that it is GDPR-ready and built on Salesforce and Heroku, and says data is encrypted with TLS 1.2+ in transit and AES-256 at rest, with daily backups and continuous vulnerability scanning. The SOC 2 report, monitoring posture and subprocessor list are available from the company's trust center. The home page reports a 4.9 out of 5 rating based on customer reviews and quotes 3 users, from Compass, Nelson Mullins and ENEL, who describe webhook integrations, audit documentation and 24/7 operations support.
Who it suits and who it does not
Manifestly suits an operations, IT, HR or compliance team that wants to standardize a recurring process quickly. Regulated and audit-driven teams fit well because every run leaves a searchable history, and the unlimited workflow, run and automation allowance means a growing process library does not push you into a higher plan. The home page lists industry use cases from banking, financial services and managed service providers to manufacturing, law firms, insurance, restaurants, retail and transportation, and it points to ready-made templates for employee onboarding, customer onboarding, IT administration, property management, marketing and restaurant workflows. A 20-person ops team can start on the 14-day trial without a card and decide from there. Teams already living in Slack or Teams get the most from the actions inside those apps.
It is the wrong tool if you want to build a custom customer-facing app, a client portal with your own screens or a database-backed internal tool. The editor is checklist-shaped, so branching business logic across many systems may be easier on a dedicated automation or rules platform. And buyers who need SSO, custom branding or SMS alerts should budget for the $20 per user Enterprise tier, not the $10 one.
