What it is

SchedulingKit is scheduling software for businesses, teams and individuals who take bookings. Its homepage calls it "Free, AI-powered scheduling software that automates bookings, payments, and follow-ups" and says it is "Trusted by 5,000+ teams across 40+ countries." The site splits its audience 3 ways. Businesses means salons, spas, healthcare, home services, fitness studios and contractors across 50+ industries. Teams means sales, recruiting, marketing, customer success and operations groups who need round-robin, collective scheduling and lead routing. Individuals means freelancers, coaches, consultants and creators who "share your booking link, accept payments, and automate follow-ups." The pages do not say where the company is based.

What you build and how

You build a booking page and then the automation around it. The homepage shows a sample page with a 30-minute consultation call at $150.00 and a calendar to pick from. It lists the pieces that go with it: booking page, payments, automation, reminders and a customer portal, plus invoicing, gift cards, review management, a white-label option, a page builder, developer tools and service scheduling. The site says the platform handles "bookings, payments, staff, and clients in one platform."

Payments run through Stripe in the customer stories. A salon owner says "Clients book themselves, I get paid upfront through Stripe, and the reminder texts have seriously cut down no-shows," and adds that the owner used to lose 3-4 appointments a week. A life coach says the Stripe integration and custom reminders were "too useful to skip" and that a month on the free plan led to a move to Standard. An attorney describes a flow where "clients fill out an intake form, pick a slot, and it lands in my Outlook calendar," replacing a process that took 4+ emails per client. Another customer says "The custom domain and SMTP setup sold me." The homepage does not name which plan carries a custom domain or SMTP, so treat those as features to confirm.

The AI layer is the distinctive part. The homepage describes "Agentic AI that runs your front desk" and names 3 agents. The AI Receptionist answers calls 24/7. The AI Voice Agent books by phone. The Chatbot Builder is a no-code chatbot. The company describes them as working together with a smart CRM "to book clients, follow up, and grow your business automatically." In the company's own pricing comparison, the chatbot and voice agent are "Included in Pro," while another line on the same page says the Standard plan at $12 a seat per month includes them. The pages do not reconcile the 2 claims, so ask which plan carries which agent before you count on one.

For teams, the homepage lists round-robin and collective scheduling and lead routing. A dental practice with 4 dentists says "The Pro plan gives us round-robin, payment collection, SMS reminders" and that patients love it. The staff story matters because the company's comparison pages stress unlimited staff on the free plan.

For developers, the site advertises a REST API and real-time webhooks and shows a code sample that posts a booking to api.schedulingkit.com with a Bearer API key. A CTO says "Integrated the API into our product onboarding. New users schedule their setup call directly from inside our app," and calls the REST API "clean and well-documented." The footer also lists iPhone, iPad and Android downloads.

Security is a listed block on the homepage: AES-256 Encryption, GDPR Compliant, Role-Based Access and Audit Logging, with a link to read the Security Policy. These are the company's own claims. The pages do not mention SOC 2, HIPAA or any other standard, and they do not say where data is hosted.

The evidence from the pages

The free plan is the headline. The homepage says "Free forever plan" and "No credit card required." The company's comparison page for 10to8 says SchedulingKit provides "unlimited appointments, unlimited staff, and all features free," with no trial period and no feature limits. A table there lists no limits on monthly appointments or staff and branding removal on the free plan. Another table says the free plan has no appointment limits and lists a starting paid price of $12 per seat per month "with AI."

Those same pages are SchedulingKit's marketing against 10to8, so read the competitor numbers as claims. The pricing guide lists 10to8 plans at $0 with 100 appointments a month and 2 staff logins, $7.20 a month with annual billing for Starter, and $25.60 for Grow at 300 appointments, with custom Enterprise pricing. Another page on the same site says 10to8's paid plans "start at $12/month." The 2 pages disagree on 10to8's entry price, which is a reason to check any competitor figure at the source.

The site also publishes free-alternative pages and pricing guides aimed at the tools people switch from, including Calendly, Acuity Scheduling, Cal.com, Square Appointments, Setmore, Microsoft Bookings and Doodle. This tells you how the company positions itself: as the option that removes caps and per-seat fees, with the free-alternative pages promising that you can switch step by step. On the 10to8 page the company also says the free plan lets you build a searchable client history for follow-up, and the homepage invites you to try a live demo of real booking pages with the AI chatbot, reviews and payments, which is a faster way to judge the product than reading the claims.

The pages give no price for Pro and no seat counts or limits for paid plans beyond the $12 per seat figure. Enterprise buyers are pointed to a Contact Sales button. The site names a v3.0 release and lists a live demo with booking pages, an AI chatbot, reviews and payments.

Who it suits and who it does not

SchedulingKit suits a small service business that wants one tool for bookings, deposits or full payments, reminders and a client record, and a solo professional who wants to start free. The 4-dentist practice and the salon in the customer stories are the shape the company aims at. A developer who wants to create bookings from their own product has a REST API and webhooks to start from.

It is a weaker fit if you need a firm plan structure before you commit. Which plan holds the AI agents is inconsistent on the pages, Pro has no listed price, and the free plan's "no limits" wording sits beside a paid Standard tier. Teams with formal compliance requirements will not find a certification named, only the GDPR, encryption and audit logging claims. A sales team deep in a CRM should confirm the integrations list first, since the pages here name Outlook and Stripe as the connections.
