What Pembee is

Pembee is class and activity booking software. It is built for organizers who run recurring programs, and the site names the businesses it has in mind: dance studios, gymnastics clubs, martial arts schools, after-school clubs, forest schools, summer camps, performing arts schools and sports clubs. The reader it fits is a studio owner or club administrator who wants a hosted booking page, family accounts and card payments without building any of that. The home page pitches it as a way to "replace your spreadsheets, Eventbrite tickets and chasing no-shows on WhatsApp with one tool that handles bookings, registers, payments and comms."

The site draws that line itself. Class booking software, it says, is "built around recurring classes, terms, group and family bookings" rather than one-off appointments. The footer names Pembee Ltd., and the home page counts 230,000+ users, 900K bookings processed, €48M in transactions and 600,000+ sessions listed.

What you build and how

Pembee describes a 3-step flow. First you set up your classes: your timetable, terms, holiday breaks and pricing, with capacity, age ranges, prerequisites and any health forms you need. Second, you share your booking page. Pembee provides a hosted page out of the box, and the site suggests dropping the link into your website, email signature or Instagram bio, or printing a QR code for sessions. Third, users book and pay. They can book multiple attendees in one go, fill in your custom forms, and pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Klarna.

So this is a configuration tool for one specific job rather than an open canvas. You don't design pages block by block. You define classes, terms and pricing rules, and the booking experience follows from them. The Standard plan includes customizable registration forms, site themes and branding and an embed for your own website; Premium adds a custom web address and can generate a booking site theme from your brand. Each vertical has its own set-up guide and template.

Courses are the unit most organizers will work with. A comparison article on the company's blog says you can create multi-week courses in minutes and clone an activity with its pricing, schedule, booking window and capacity carried over, which helps when next term looks like the last one. The pricing options named across the pages include pay-as-you-go drop-ins, a booked term, monthly installments, a deposit with a balance later, monthly memberships, session passes, early-bird pricing, and sibling or family discounts. Joining mid-term is pro-rated.

Families are the other design center. A parent creates one account, adds everyone they book for, and combines any classes in a single checkout. From a self-service portal they manage their own bookings, cancellations and payment methods, which takes routine requests out of your inbox. On the organizer's side, the home page says you mark attendance mid-session from a phone or tablet, Pembee flags no-shows automatically and feeds attendance into customer reports, and a register can run for one class or twenty back-to-back sessions across several venues. The blog adds that the register carries medical notes and consent at the door.

Waitlists are the main automation. When a class is full, users join a waitlist. When someone cancels, the next person is offered the spot automatically with a hold-time, so the space doesn't sit empty. The blog describes the same thing as time-limited claiming windows, with live availability visible to customers and admins. The FAQ places waitlists on the Premium plan, so a Standard account doesn't get them.

Payments are handled through Stripe. You take card payments there and reconcile cash takings in the same dashboard. A term can be split into monthly installments, or you can take a deposit and collect the balance later. Failed payments retry automatically and customers get reminder emails, so you aren't chasing them by hand. The company says payouts come straight from Stripe on a rolling basis, typically every 2 to 7 days depending on your country, and that money never sits with Pembee.

Marketing and integrations sit mostly on Premium: automated cart reminders and trial follow-up emails to recover lost bookings, conversion tracking with Google Ads, GA4 and Meta Pixel, account credit for customers, monthly transaction reports, and a Zapier integration, through which the home page says HubSpot and Mailchimp connect. Standard covers discount codes, trial tickets, booking reminders and automatic VAT, sales tax or GST collection. The FAQ says initial set-up takes around 10 minutes and that the team helps import customers, attendees and active bookings from another system or a spreadsheet; the site invites you to book a 20-minute demo.

Plans, pricing and support

The home page says Pembee "starts at €39/month for the Standard plan," lists Premium at €91 a month in the same euro view, and that "pricing is flat - adding more coaches or admin team doesn't increase your cost." There is a 30-day free trial that needs no card, and the pricing section says you can cancel any time. It offers monthly or yearly billing, with yearly marked "2 months free", and lets you choose a currency from AUD, EUR, NZD, SGD, USD or GBP.

An article on the company's blog gives dollar figures: Standard at $45 per month including up to 5 admin users, and Premium at $105 per month, which "adds waitlists, automated recovery emails, a custom domain, monthly reports and unlimited admin users." A second article describes a "flat $45/month subscription for up to 5 admins and unlimited locations." The home page plan cards match that split: Standard lists up to 5 admin users and 90 days of transactional email history, and Premium lists unlimited admin users and 1 year of history. Both plans carry the 0.59% application fee on Stripe online payments.

Card payments run at standard Stripe rates, which the home page puts at around 2.9% + 30¢ in the US with rates varying by country and card type, plus a 0.59% Pembee application fee. The company says there are "no other hidden charges" and no extra platform fee loaded onto your customers.

Support is a live chat inside the app, described as "real humans, not bots," plus a searchable help center with screenshots and short videos. The Premium plan includes a 1:1 onboarding call, and the FAQ says most questions get a same-day reply.

A blog article says Pembee holds "4.9 out of 5 from 23 reviews on Capterra, with 5.0 for customer service and 5.0 for value for money." Customer quotes on the home page include Katie Taylor of Inspire Sports Academy, who writes that "my workload has been cut in half," and Joanna Watt of England Sports Group, who says it "has been so easy to set up and implement." The company's co-founder writes on the blog that he has been building booking systems since 2012.

Who it suits and who it does not

Pembee suits a studio, club or camp that sells terms, courses and memberships to families and wants one hosted booking page, a single checkout for several children, and a waitlist that fills cancellations without staff involvement. The flat subscription plus the 0.59% application fee is easy to budget, and a 30-day trial with no card lets you test the timetable and pricing rules on real classes before committing.

It is a weaker fit in a few cases. Waitlists, a custom domain and monthly reports sit on Premium, so a studio that needs them pays the higher tier from day one. The Zapier connection is also a Premium feature, so linking Pembee to a CRM or mailing tool means the higher tier. And if you run a calendar of one-off consultations, a general appointment tool is simpler than a system organized around terms and registers. Pembee is your own booking system rather than a marketplace, so finding new students stays your job.
