What Bookingmood is

Bookingmood is a booking platform for independent vacation rental hosts and rental companies who want direct bookings instead of paying a marketplace commission on every reservation. Its homepage headline is "Own your bookings. Build a vacation rental business that belongs to you." The product speaks to two readers: owners of a few villas or vacation homes, and rental companies who want to streamline bookings and finances across a larger portfolio. It is a booking and rental-operations tool first, with a website builder as a paid extra, which is why it sits in booking and scheduling and also in websites.

The company says it is "Trusted by 1200+ businesses", with 9000+ bookings each month, 6000+ properties managed and hosts in 50+ countries. These are the company's own figures. The footer names the company as Bookingmood B.V. The home page lists the hospitality businesses it is built for: holiday homes, bed and breakfasts, boutique hotels, villa managers and vacation rental companies.

What you build and how

You build a direct booking channel for your properties. The homepage describes the path as steps. First, bring your properties online: add listings, availability, rates and booking rules. Second, create your direct booking channel by adding Bookingmood to an existing website or launching a new booking website. The page then lists what comes with the channel: custom booking forms, custom availability, message templates, team collaboration and analytics, each covered below. Its framing is "Discovery is useful. Dependency is risky." Marketplaces stay useful for exposure, and you can keep those listings, while direct bookings build your own brand and your own guest relationships.

Units. The FAQ says Bookingmood can be used for almost any type of rentable unit: vacation homes, apartments, hotel rooms, campsites, boats, vehicles and event venues. "Each unit can have its own availability, pricing and settings." That makes it a general rental scheduler, not only a holiday-home tool.

Widgets for any site. The homepage lists a calendar widget, timeline widget, inventory widget, search widget, pricing widget and reviews widget, and says they can be embedded anywhere. The FAQ confirms the widgets work in any website or website builder, so visitors can view availability and book without leaving your site. The company mentions 40+ documented integrations for embedding.

Booking website builder. For owners with no site, Bookingmood includes a no-code builder with a custom domain, SEO optimization and multilingual support. The FAQ is exact on the commercial side: it lets you create one or multiple rental websites "as a paid add-on".

Online bookings. You set up custom booking forms and custom availability and pricing rules, with tax management, discounts and coupons, and automated payments listed alongside. Each rental unit can have its own booking form with contact fields, custom questions, optional extras, and required fees and taxes. Payment runs through Stripe, Square and Mollie. Payments are transferred directly to your connected payment account, and the company says Bookingmood does not charge commission on them.

Guest communication. You can send emails and SMS messages directly from a booking, and all communication is stored in the booking's Messages tab. The homepage also says you can design your own templates and automate messaging with them. After a booking has ended, guests can submit a review from their private guest page, and the reviews widget can show them on your site.

Team. You can add unlimited team members at no additional cost, including colleagues, clients, cleaners and maintenance staff, with role-based access and permissions. Team members can send internal notes, and recurring tasks can be automated.

Calendar sync. Bookingmood supports two-way availability synchronization through iCal with platforms such as Airbnb and Booking.com and with compatible calendar applications, and the homepage says it syncs with over 200 providers. That is how you keep marketplace listings while taking direct bookings without double bookings.

Overview, reporting and API. A multi-calendar view shows all bookings in one place, and occupancy reporting, revenue reporting and website and widget analytics are included. Builders can create their own integrations through an API and webhooks, and the resources menu lists docs, guides, an API reference and a changelog.

The evidence from the pages

Pricing. The home page and FAQ give no plan names or prices. The terms they state are a "Start free 14-day trial", with no credit card required, no commission on bookings and payments, and the website builder as a paid add-on.

Scale claims. "Trusted by 1200+ businesses", 9000+ bookings a month, 6000+ properties managed, and a counter reading "50+ Hosts in 50+ countries".

Integrations. 40+ documented integrations for embedding, 200+ iCal providers, and payment providers Stripe, Square and Mollie. Airbnb and Booking.com are named as sync partners.

Customer voices. The site quotes owners rather than naming a customer list. One reviewer manages 18 short-term holiday lets in Lyme Regis and calls it the most efficient system for keeping Airbnb and direct bookings in sync. Another operator lists 30 villas in the Algarve. An event venue in Mexico City highlights the Spanish-language support, a Crete holiday home owner uses the availability calendar on a website, and a Sicily operator manages 16 villas. Mike Hamer of Lime Regis Stays Ltd. adds that "the support is excellent", and Giorgio of Sicily Seafront Villas calls it "Reliable software with outstanding support." These are testimonials the company chose to show.

Who it suits and who it does not

Bookingmood suits an independent host or a small rental company that is tired of marketplace fees and wants a calendar, booking form, payment link and guest messaging under their own brand. The unit model covers more than holiday homes, so a boat charter, a campsite or an event venue fits the same setup. Unlimited team members with permissions help when cleaners and maintenance staff need access without paying per seat. Operators who already list on Airbnb or Booking.com can keep those channels and use iCal sync to stop double bookings.

It also suits a rental owner with no website: the builder is a no-code route to a custom-domain site, though it costs extra.

There are caveats. The website builder is a paid add-on rather than part of the base product. Online payments run through Stripe, Square or Mollie, and marketplace sync works through iCal. And the product is built around rentable units, so a business selling timed appointments with staff, such as a salon, is not the audience.
