What it is

Bookedin is an online booking system for small businesses that sell appointments and classes. Its home page opens with the question "What if booking appointments and classes actually felt easy?" and answers that the company makes it easy for you and your clients to book and pay for appointments and classes online. The reader it targets is a solo practitioner or a small team in a service trade. The page's own list of who uses it runs from tattoo shops, barber shops, beauty salons and hair salons through eyelash technicians, auto detailers, massage therapists and personal trainers to photographers, cleaning services, spas, chiropractors, tax preparation services and academic advisors. The site is copyrighted to Coldwin Software Inc. Under "Businesses that trust Bookedin" the home page names customers such as Oriana Tattoo in Miami Beach, EG Tax in Los Angeles, Emergency Care Chiropractic in Lima, Ohio, and Jays Fades Barbershop in Yucaipa.

What you build and how

There is no builder or canvas here, and nothing to code. You configure a booking setup, with your services, staff, calendars and payment rules, and the product runs it. The company's promise on the client side is "Click. Book. Done." Clients get the freedom to book "without barriers. No downloads, no passwords", so a customer opens your booking page, picks a slot for an appointment or a class and pays online, if you ask for payment.

The company's blog describes the setup options in more detail. Appointment types can be single sessions, recurring appointments or group classes, with buffer times between bookings, waitlists and multi-staff calendars. Calendar syncing covers iCloud, Google, Outlook.com, Exchange and Office 365, so a booking taken online shows up in the calendar you already use and an existing appointment blocks the slot. The blog also lists intake forms that collect information before the visit and client histories kept on each client record.

The feature the company leads with is reminders. It says it sent 758,780 text and email reminders last month and that this is "3x more than our competitors". The mechanism is simple. Each booking triggers 3 reminders. The first is a confirmation, and the client gets a text message and an email confirmation of the booking. They get a reminder a few days before the appointment or class, and a last reminder on the booking day. The company argues that many competitors "claim to reduce no-shows, but they only send one reminder." For a business where an empty slot is lost revenue, that is the main pitch, and the home page reinforces it with the line "say goodbye to no-shows". A self-service portal lets clients book, reschedule or cancel on their own, which the blog presents as a way to cut phone calls, texts and emails.

Taking payment at booking is the second tool against no-shows. The blog says you can accept deposits or full online payments through Stripe or Square, and a second post adds PayPal to the processors. It also mentions automated invoicing and payment records that simplify bookkeeping.

Branding is the third area. The blog describes fully customizable booking pages that match your logo, colors and style, and branded emails that display your logo, so the booking flow looks like your business rather than the tool's.

On integrations, the company's own comparison table lists Google, Outlook and Apple calendars, Stripe, Square and Zapier "& more", and describes iOS and Android apps with full features. The blog says the apps let you manage bookings, check your schedule, communicate with clients and track payments from a phone or tablet. The home page has a "Works with" strip and a "View All Features" link.

Bookedin also runs a business directory, linked from the header and footer with a "Find a business" entry, which gives a listed business a place to be found beyond its own website. For people moving from another tool, the menu carries a "Switch to Bookedin" page.

Support and reviews

Support is part of the product pitch. The home page says "Talk to real people who understand online booking. No AI chatbots or scripts." and "Call us or email us anytime." The company's blog table puts the average support response at under 24 hours. The site also offers a "Book a Support Call" option, a Help Center, a Contact Us page and release notes. A section headed "Award winning design & customer service" says the company has collected accolades along the way.

The home page shows short testimonials from small operators. Greg Satterfield of GS Photography says "Solved every scheduling issue", Angel Caban of Guardian Art Gallery says it "Keeps my schedule well organized", Keawe Bone of Bone Bodywork says "Fast and easy", and Betsy Campos of ŪNIKA Swimwear says "The reminders that they send out are super convenient". They are the company's selected quotes, so they show what the vendor wants emphasized: speed, organization and reminders.

Plans and pricing

The pricing menu names a free plan, monthly plans, annual plans and a refer-a-friend program, and the header carries a "Sign up free" button. The company's own blog comparison puts Bookedin "From $29/mo", with a free plan and a 14-day trial on the premium plan, and a "14-day free trial, full features." A second post says "From $0/month" and "Free Plan Available". The home page invites you to start a 14-day trial and to book a free demo. The pages give no per-plan limits on bookings, staff or locations.

Who it suits

Bookedin fits a one-person or few-person service business that wants clients to self-book, wants confirmations and reminders to go out without effort, and wants to take deposits or full payment at booking. A barber, tattoo artist, personal trainer or photographer who loses money to no-shows is the clearest match, and the 3-message reminder sequence is the product's central feature. A studio that runs classes and one-to-one sessions side by side can handle both in one calendar, and a small team gets multi-staff calendars. A business that wants human support by phone and email rather than a chatbot will also like the approach, and the free plan lets an owner try the booking flow before paying.

It is a narrower tool than the platforms elsewhere in this directory. Bookedin is a configurable scheduler for service businesses, not a workflow builder, app builder or site builder, so you set up services and rules rather than design screens or data models. The named integrations are calendars, payment processors and Zapier, which suits a small business but gives a team with a larger software stack fewer direct connections to work with.
