What Scriptcase is

Scriptcase is a rapid application development and low-code platform that generates PHP. It is aimed at developers and small technical teams who have a database and need web systems on top of it: data-entry forms, editable grids, reports and dashboards. This site is the Argentine presentation of the product, run by Cooee Sistemas, which calls itself the "Reseller oficial", and it is written in Spanish. The reseller says its office and development lab are in Ramallo, in the north of Buenos Aires Province, 200 km from the Capital Federal and 100 km from Rosario.

The site's own pitch is "Transforme su base de datos en formularios, grids, gráficos y reportes BI, ahorrando tiempo y reduciendo costos como nunca antes" (transform your database into forms, grids, charts and BI reports, saving time and cutting costs like never before). The headline claim is that you can build applications, complete web systems and advanced reports with Business Intelligence concepts, and deliver rich intranet or internet applications "en minutos" (in minutes).

What you build and how

You start from data. The site says you connect through a simple, secure interface to one or more databases, local or in the cloud, and begin creating applications. Scriptcase then generates PHP code for what you configure, and the finished applications are web-based. They can be published locally on your own machine, on your network, or on the internet.

The home page lists what a system can contain: summaries, charts, pivot tables, forms, editable forms and grids, calendars with Google Calendar integration, dynamic menus, PDF and XLS reports, dashboards, and a security module with user levels and social network login. For a reader who arrived from the dashboards and BI side, the relevant pieces are the charts, pivot tables, summaries and dashboards, plus the report outputs. The site groups the features of Scriptcase 9 under Databases, Calendars, Dashboards, Forms, Charts, Reports, Interface and Internationalization, and its examples page lets you explore the different screen types and functions you can create, from single applications to complete systems and advanced reports.

Logic is not limited to what the visual screens offer. The site says that without limits ("Sin límites") you can create or change the default behavior of your applications through events and macros. That is where a developer writes code, and it is why the product reads as low-code rather than no-code. It also covers integration: the company says it makes it easy to connect your system with a universe of libraries, web services and kinds of API, with email, SMS, WhatsApp, social networks and payment platforms named as examples.

The development environment itself runs on the web. The site says Scriptcase can be installed locally or on an internet server (intranet or hosting), that you can reach it from any browser, and that several users can work simultaneously on the same project. The page heads this section "Desarrollo rápido, eficiente y en equipo" (fast, efficient development, as a team), and the demo video promises PHP web applications built quickly and collaboratively. It also describes the product as a platform for rapid application development, "RAD y Low Code", that optimizes and simplifies the development process.

A note on versions: a news item on the site says that from version 9.13.012 Scriptcase is compatible with PHP 8.2, with performance improvements and access to modern PHP features, and that using it with PHP 8.2 requires a new installation. The site points buyers to Scriptcase 9.

For end users of a finished system, the experience is a web application in a browser, with logins, user levels and optional social network sign-in from the security module.

What the pages state about plans, scale and support

The site gives these figures about the product under "Scriptcase en números": 1500 projects in the world, 45000 developers and 70 languages, and its banner repeats "+ de 45.000 desarrolladores en el mundo" (more than 45,000 developers worldwide). These are the company's own claims. A customers section introduces "Algunas de las empresas que usan Scriptcase" (some of the companies that use Scriptcase) and links to case studies.

The pricing section is headed "Licencia para múltiples base de datos" (license for multiple databases). It names three plans: Starter, Professional and Enterprise. Starter and Professional are described as "Para desarrolladores individuales" (for individual developers) and Enterprise as "Para equipos de desarrollo" (for development teams). All three include unlimited projects and unlimited connections to your databases, and updates included for one year. No amounts appear on the site: each plan carries the label "Solicite una cotización" (request a quote), and there is also an option to request a discount coupon. A page explains the purchase procedure via "MyCommerce", the payment route the site names.

Support is described as phone assistance, access to forums, online documentation to view and download (including a PDF manual), a knowledge base the site says holds thousands of tutorials, tips and examples, step-by-step examples, and videos on an official Spanish-language channel. A FAQ covers sales, licensing, support and features. The reseller adds online courses, a WhatsApp channel for news about versions, updates, events and webinars, a full demonstration to watch, and a personal one-to-one demonstration meeting where your questions get answered. A news item also says Scriptcase Argentina helps connect developers with clients, and developers with other developers, to expand their projects.

Three testimonials appear: Allen Bort, CEO of Applied Direct Service in Canada, who says Scriptcase is the company's main development platform; João Maria Assuero of Assenko Software in Brazil, who recommends it for anyone unsure how to build web apps quickly and securely; and Leandro Monserrat, Director of Cooee Sistemas, the reseller itself, who calls it a tool "que el mundo necesita" (that the world needs). The news section lists case studies, among them a hospital IoT solution and Prodesys, whose headline says it cut development time and costs and grew its customer base by 15%.

Who it suits and who it does not

Scriptcase suits a developer, a freelancer or an in-house team that already has relational data and a server for PHP, and that wants to produce business systems, back-office screens and reports faster than by writing PHP by hand. It also suits an IT team that wants to give analysts BI-style reports, pivot tables and dashboards generated from the same databases, and several developers working in one shared browser-based environment. It fits Spanish-speaking buyers who want to deal with a local reseller in Argentina, with Spanish training material and a WhatsApp line.

It is a weaker match for a non-technical founder who wants a hosted, template-driven builder with no installation. You install the platform yourself, extending it means writing event code, and quotes come through a reseller rather than a public price list. The generated output is PHP, so the stack choice comes with the tool.
